Great Hotel

Debbie B (Colorado Springs, Colorado) on Jul 01, 2022

I was at this hotel with my family including two young children. It was clean and every room had a balcony. The hotel accommodated our request for adjoining rooms. The location is great, just three blocks for the beach and walking distance to many restaurants. There is an ABC across the street which is a great place to grab breakfast food and lunch for the beach. Hotel had a decent pool and food and beverage service there as well. I would recommend this hotel if you are staying in the Waikiki area.

Good choice in Waikiki

brunkmaster (Sweden) on Jun 28, 2022

Most things were great about the hotel. But some things that can get better: First, the resort fee is a joke. Especially considering what you get for it: some tired looking falling apart beach chairs and beach towels that looked like something the dog dragged in. Enhance the amenities or drop the resort fee if you want happy customers because the current arrangement is made for making customers unhappy. One thing that needs to be taken care of are the smoking guests by the pool area. Why on earth are people allowed to smoke there? Its the 21th century. The area would be much nicer if it was smoke free. I have been at the hotel with the biggest infinity pool in the world, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, and there smoking is not allowed. Why not try to be progressive? You will get even more guests willing to stay at the hotel by making this change. It is the same concept when night clubs stopped allowed smoking: they got more guests because many of these guests before avoiding going because of the obnxious and reeking cigarette smoke.

Needs attention to detail

Location is great. Hotel staff very good. The room was below par. Cleaning every 5 days? After cleaning, the bathroom was still dirty. Given only 3 sets of towels. Tiniest bathroom amenities. Had to constantly ask for more towels shampoo and toilet paper. Tissue box wasn't refilled after cleaning. Just lacking these things that they skimp on but is what brings guests back. Gating factor for us was cleanliness and this hotel is not the one to choose if you're after clean and added room amenities.

Careful where you stay

Robert E R (Sacramento, United States) on Jun 17, 2022

No daily housekeeping. Did not pickup trash for the entire four days. No bed or towel service entire stay (5 days, 4 nights) Dining room is like a high school cafeteria but food was excellent. Ceiling bathroom leaked for two days. Was told it was A/C.

Hilton Waikiki Beach June 2022

The hotel itself was fine. Would I stay here again? Probably not. We had a deluxe king room with an ocean view- the view was really nice and the room was pretty clean (besides under the bed) and spacious. House keeping came every four (4!!!) days. Which they only provided 3 towels, one little shampoo and conditioner, no lotion or anything. They also didn’t replenish coffee cups, toilet paper, or tissue paper. The pool was decent, nothing special. I was however pleasantly surprised with the pool after reading some previous reviews before we arrived. You are only allowed to use one beach chair per day per room which was odd since there is almost always more than one person to a room, and you have to pay a resort fee. Wouldn’t a resort fee allow for each person to use a chair? The restaurant “Mac 24/7” was really good. Except its not 24/7 it closes at 9:30pm. We tried to sit in the lobby bar to have a drink and some food around 6pm one Saturday evening but they only had one person working therefore service was slow. We didn’t even get acknowledged but i dont think that was the bartenders fault, more of a staffing issue. The location was about 2 blocks from Waikiki beach. Waikiki beach itself is extremely dirty and packed with homeless people. I was honestly surprised with how expensive the “resort fee” was, ($70usd/ night) with housekeeping coming once during our entire stay, no amenities to represent a resort, covid protocols still heavily in place, etc. Valet was convenient at $45usd/ night. The female valet attendant was not pleasant at all- almost seemed like it was an inconvenience to her we were dropping our car off. The rest of the staff at the hotel was for the most part very friendly. Overall our experience was okay. Like I said we would not pick this hotel to stay at again, but it was fine for our first time in Oahu. I also hope they realize they aren’t enough of a high end hotel to be charging a nightly rate along with a resort fee when they are very clearly not a resort.
