Elevators aren’t efficient. But great location

Dcriner1 on Jul 22, 2021

Hotel has a great location. Good luck waiting in line on any floor for an elevator or getting many full elevators. There are efficiency abilities the hotel should look into. Room was extremely nice. Probably will not stay again because of the elevators. Picture online of hotel is also deceiving, makes it look like it’s on beach, it’s actually building far back. Not that it’s not a great location, just don’t be deceptive.

Room was not clean. Disappointed as a Hilton Honors member.

StanHolmes713 (Tucson, Arizona) on Jul 19, 2021

We were on our 30th wedding anniversary and chose Hilton as an Honors Member. The room was not clean and the sheets were dirty, we found hair in the bed. Refrigerator was leaking all over the floor. Very dissatisfied with our stay.

Horrible service at MAC

marpuri2021 (Tampa, Florida) on Jul 18, 2021

This is my first time ever review, I had to do this because of the management flaws, first of all, they don’t have courtesy to offer mask if the guest is missing them, they were to be purchased at the gift shop. They offered free breakfast during booking, they gave vouchers at check in but they could be used only for scrambled egg and potatoes. They are understaffed I think, the waiting for breakfast is almost an hour to be seated and these vouchers cannot be used for room service or carry out. I have stayed in lot of Hilton hotels before and I am a gold member but never had this kind of bad experience in any of the other hotels. Their sanitizing is good and the are following the COVID precautions in a good way but not helping the guests at all. We were a group of 9 with 3 rooms, 2 suits and 1 double bed room. They are not accommodative at all. In the restaurant they don’t take phone reservations, they say it’s first come first serve but once we go there they say they will call beach when table is ready, why can’t they do it over the phone. Coming to valet, valet is a must in the hotel, which is good, but the valet drivers are not helpful, they did. It even help me in loading the luggage, and there was a fight between the customer and valet about some disturbance with the customer and valet driver. It was pretty bad, a guys in early 20s was cursing bad words to a guy in 65, which was pretty bad. I can keep on writing, please be careful when booking.

Good hotel, close to beach

516DaveS516 (Omaha, Nebraska) on Jul 18, 2021

Hotel staff was great and it is only a couple of blocks from beach. We had a great stay and would do it again. The only negative was the panhandling near the hotel. This is not something the hotel can control but it is a problem.

Average hotel without much amenity or service

Kevin W (Fremont, California) on Jul 17, 2021

We stayed at Hilton Waikiki for 5 nights in June. The room was small and outdated, it had two double beds that were small and lumpy. Make sure to schedule housekeeping daily , otherwise they would not service the room if you don't call to schedule the day prior. The hotel is about 2-3 blocks from Kuhio beach, the hotel gives you an voucher to get a boogie board or chair for one day. If you want to rent more than one day or more than one item then you have to pay for the rental. The lounge was still not open when we stayed in July, even though they told us it was open when we asked a few weeks prior. The hotel pool was outdated and doesn't have much of a view. It was really dark at the pool area during the night, not a very inviting or nice looking area to hang out at night. The area has a lot of traffic noise, so if you are a light sleeper you might want to bring some ear plugs. We requested microwave so we could heat up some left overs, but they said they were all out. There is really nothing remarkable about the hotel itself, its location, or its service. I were able to use our Hilton points to stay here for free, but I don't think I would stay again given the chance.
