Review of Pueblo bonito

robinazcarraga275 (New Port Richey, Florida) on Jul 06, 2026

I have a mixed review of this hotel. The hospitality was terrific from all staff. The room did not have a mini refrigerator or a microwave. The food was a 6 out of 10. I developed a bacterial infection due to most likely bacterial the salads at the hotel. (the doctor said) but buy the are charged for room service 3.95 each mealyour ordered We were there during the World Cup and the hotel showed only limited matches. This was a huge disappoint. There is also no entertainment at all. All in all we wouldn’t return.

Just want to shout out to Pedro and Gio at the Cilantros restaurant. Their service and wonderful personalities keep us coming back, time and again. Also, Fausto at the pool bar is a real gem ?? So many there to give credit to. Great people !

Already planning our next visit

Apologies for the delay in posting-we visited during Semana Santa and I'm only getting to this now. P.B. Mazatlan is on the smaller side and I'd consider that a good thing. For anyone with mobility issues, it would be much easier to get around than P.B. Emerald Bay. Both are great, but if long hikes to the restaurants or the beach aren't your thing, P.B. Mazatlan is perfect. The beach was very nice, as mentioned in other reviews. It was kept clean, water was clear and there were enough waves to make it interesting: I bodysurfed right in front of the hotel every day. There were a lot of surf lessons being conducted from the beach just to the north, which gives you an idea of the waves: they were reliable and almost constant, but nothing so big that a novice surfer or average swimmer would be in danger. I did look at the beach at Emerald Bay and the rocks weren't as bad as we'd been led to believe. They were there-I'd definitely scout before diving in headfirst-but they weren't everywhere. I did hear from some guests at Emerald Bay that there were jellyfish/medusa around at times. They were not a problem at all at P.B. Mazatlan. The food was excellent: not a single average meal; all were great. The breakfast buffet had some amazing variety; anyone could find something they like. the Sunday buffet had even more options. Lunch, whether in Cilantro's or the grill by the pool, was always excellent-some great seafood on offer. For dinner, the Italian restaurant was outstanding, as were the special nights in the buffet-you just can't go wrong here. I've saved the most important for last: the staff. They were truly amazing and are the reason we hope to return during the upcoming Winter. I hesitate to mention them by name only because I don't want to overlook anyone. The bellmen-the first people we see upon arrival-were great: they knew the area so well and made sure we were paying a fair price and in good hands when we took a taxi, a pulmonia or a bus. We were fortunate to have Sofia and Gris handle our check in upon arrival. We got there early but they managed to have a room ready for us. We saw them most every day and they were always helpful and their friendly manner always put me in a great mood; lovely ladies. The restaurant staff were equally helpful and friendly. I'd like to highlight the work of Oscar, Adriano, Ramon and Miguel in the breakfast buffet-our day always got off to a great start because of them. Jose Maria and Miguel in Cilantro's also did great work: they know the food so well and always took great care of us. Jordi made the days fly with the games he had around the pool. Poker, blackjack, bingo: everyone had a great time. I can't imagine staying anywhere else on our next trip to Mazatlan. This place had everything we could possibly need, especially the amazing people.
