The staff needs more support

I have been to Sandals a few times and I am starting to see some trends that are disturbing to say the least. My wife and I stayed at Montego Bay for 10 days and for the most part we enjoyed every part of the vacation. Our butlers, housekeeping and the groundskeepers were top notch. There were some issues that really need to be addressed. Room: The room was newly remodeled and the design was adequate. There was no table that would accommodate a chair for dining indoor or on the patio. There was only a small coffee table. The couch was arguably one of the most uncomfortable couches I have ever sat on. I did not use it very much. The cabinets and drawers were serviceable but far from elegant. There was no outlet for the coffee maker so we plugged it in on the night stand. The shower was great. There was a glass door to the toilet. Not sure who made that decision, but try again. The bathtub was a bit small for anyone over 5 feet tall. Entertainment: There are a number of very talented individuals at the resort who work multiple jobs during the day and put on shows in the evening. We enjoyed the shows when all went well. The show did not always match what was posted on the calendar. Maybe this was just an oversight, but another couple complained about the same thing at the Royal Caribbean resort a few miles away. One of the shows got off to a horrible start as the bass was turned up too high, the microphones were not balanced and it was way too loud. Someone in our group asked why the show was different than what was posted on the calendar and they said they change the shows each week for folks that stay longer than a week. One of the performers contacted us later to apologize about the show content and the quality of the sound. We were informed that the sound guy was not really a sound guy and that ruined the show. Some of the DJs that were in charge of the music were just terrible. They did not read the audience and would continue to play music that did not engage the listeners. There were some that were good, but mostly not. Dining: We enjoyed almost everything we ordered. Some of the beef that is being served is not on par with the quality of the other dishes. A couple we were with went to Butch’s and they were very disappointed so we opted not to go there. The best steak we had was at the Italian restaurant for breakfast with the steak and eggs. It was good enough to have twice. The restaurants were understaffed and the waitpersons were tasks with too many things to do. The bars were too far away to be efficient when getting drinks. They also must compete for the bartenders attention against the bar customers. It would be far more efficient to have a service bar designated for waitstaff. They still use pen and pads to order things which requires them to walk to the kitchen/bar to place the order. Update the system to use tablets to increase accuracy and efficiency. Drinks: The bar staff is too busy to effectively manage the constant flow of guests, waitstaff and butlers. There was one instance where a single bartender was covering the main bar which is responsible for 2 restaurants as well. He finally got some help around 6:00pm which was well into cocktail hour and the dinner rush. I felt really bad for this individual but he never complained. Adding a service bar for the waitstaff would streamline the entire operation and take the pressure off of the bar staff. The bottom line is the staff was excellent despite not having the proper tools to do their jobs. Increased efficiency in restaurants and bars would benefit the staff and the guests.

Sandals mo bay

This resort was so lovely and friendly. I would like to thank the lady that cleaned our room every day To the two butlers that help us in every way possible. The entertainments team for putting on wonderful show pieces. Every single night. All of you deserve a massive praise Chefs, Bar and serving staff all do a wonderful job They all put long hours in and deserve recognition for all there hard work. It is just a wonderful resort

Nice place. Cool Pools. Crowded beach

Beautifully landscaped. Immaculate. Friendly Food is quite good. Will do anything for you. Only major complaint is the the pools (2) are quite small and quite cool. Very few people went into the pools. The beach is small & crowded and if you don’t have Butler service, be prepared to get up early to claim your chairs (which are uncomfortable). Oh yea, the resort is located at the end of the runway. Planes are 120 feet over your head. After a day or two, you hardly notice them at all.

Butler service

This was our first trip to Jamaica and we decided to experience everything we could and ended up purchasing the Butler service. I couldn’t be happier that we did!! We had Aaron and Orian as butlers! Two of the most amazing people in Jamaica! If you go to sandals Montego Bay and get the butler service, request these two, you will not be disappointed!!! We will be back and we will be requesting them!! I’m hoping we made a long lasting friendship!! #everytime

Our Delayed Honeymoon

This is the best vacation we have ever had, and it is a bittersweet goodbye to Jamaica. There are absolutely way more great things to say than critical. The property is amazing, the restaurants are making great food, and there is no shortage of drinks and amazing bartenders. The only criticism I have is our ocean view room was right behind the Tokyo Jo’s restaurant, but the yummy wok food smell and closeness to the main Lounge and Bayside restaurant made up for it. I want to give shout outs to all the amazing staff who became our friends/family: Kemar, Ricardo, Gary, Trisann, Ackeem, Jamal, Milton, Leon, Oriel, Kit, Daniella, Loxley, Rayon, and Terry-Ann. Our housekeeping staff were also amazing, although I don’t know all their names - we were in room 102, and it was kept spotless, they folded clothes, and we always had clean towels. We also made new lifelong friends on this trip. We plan to return to the Montego Bay resort in 2025. One Love!!!
