Home away from home

They keep the resort very clean. And for us we just like to come and chill so we appreciate the atmosphere. They have paddle boards you can use for free. And always a good supply of beach towels. We stayed in room 919 which was an upgraded suite with a view of the beach in a large patio. It was on the third floor which we don't mind as I get my steps in. This is our fourth or fifth time at this resort and this time we've had a few problems with breakfast. Either the wrong order or taking up to an hour for the continental breakfast and a side order of scrambled eggs. Not that I'm in a hurry but when I see people come in and sit after us in order from the menu and get served before us it gets a bit frustrating. The lifeguard staff is really friendly and helpful and they take care of you with your chairs, your towels and anything else you need.

So, so

The best (and really only good) thing about the property was its location right on the beach. We had to book 2 rooms for a party of 5. Despite booking literally 9 months in advance, they were unable to give us two rooms next to each other, which was verybinconvenient, especially since we were traveling with young children. In one of the rooms 3 people had to sleep on a king bed, since there was no sofa bed or separate sleeper. The rooms had a musty smell and poor lighting. The wifi connection was spotty throughout the property. The staff was generally pleasant. They only provided 4 continental breakfasts for our party of five, since apparently they make the determination by room and not by the number of people staying in the rooms (really cheap move in my opinion). The restaurant food was subpar, and the service was very slow (although to be fair service was slow at all the restaurants we went to in the area). The pools are average. There were issues with the hot tub as well. The temp was often scalding hot or just lukewarm, and several of the jets were not working. These comments are primarily to help people in choosing an accommodation in the area, but are also directed to the management/ownership. I imagine most of the issues I mentioned above can be easily fixed. . . .

Category 5 hurricane in Jamaica

NancyT4Two (Glenolden, Pennsylvania) on Nov 06, 2025

We were at Coco during a category five hurricane. The hotel had a management plan in place and we were on lockdown for two days. The hotel had backup generators extra food. The manager even helped us find anti-seizure medicine for our son. Staff checked on us to make sure we were OK. I would definitely trust sending my children to this hotel.

The Most wonderful kind Staff

Gemma S (Swaffham, United Kingdom) on Nov 03, 2025

We were visiting a different hotel during Hurricane Melissa, we were unable to get meals where we were staying the staff at cocolapalm welcomed us in and served us meals they treated us just like the guests of the hotel. I would like to mention Chris who was so kind to us he made sure we could eat and drink. When we had no cash left they went out of their way even though it was so difficult to find a way for us to pay. We got the opportunity to look at this beautiful hotel and meet the fantastic staff. I will go back to Jamaica one day and I believe I will being booking a room at this wonderful hotel
