Fantastic stay at this resort. Brilliant location in middle of 7 mile beach and amazing staff who are fun, friendly and go out of their way to attend to guests needs. Managers party a nice touch to introduce staff and guests and easy to see why many repeat customers. Brilliant value for money, highly recommend.

The Williams Honeymoon at Coco la Palm

Richard K on Aug 24, 2023

I booked this hotel for me and my wife honeymoon. Firstly I must applaud and appreciate Miss Kemisha for helping me set up this honeymoon and for decorating my room to surprise my wife which was well done and she was definitely surprised. She even highlighted us at the managers cocktail which was very delightful. Let me continuing by saying the staff was polite and friendly and had great customer service skills. Keep it up. The food was also delicious. Not to mention the jacuzzi with that warm water. And the beach was lit. We enjoy every bit of our stay from and wish we were still there. Love and respect to everyone.

Need to monitor the area bordering your resort

Stephen F on Aug 08, 2023

I stayed at Coco La Palm(the resort next door to Sandy Haven) with my 18 yr old daughter. We enjoyed our stay there. However, we had an incident the day before we left. I went for a walk along the beach during the evening and left my daughter relaxing on a beach lounge chair. I thought that she would be safe as I had left her in these chairs during the week to go back and forth to the room and we had no problems. However, this time was not the case as she was sexually harassed by the on duty bartender at Sandy Haven Resort as well as two men selling ackee. These two men were hanging around the fence line between Coco La Palm and Sandy Haven and near the beach bar of Sandy Haven. The trio waited for me to leave, and when I did, my daughter said that she could overhear them talking about her through the fence at the Sandy Haven beach bar. Then the Sandy Haven bartender(on duty at the time) started offering her alcohol from the other side of the fence. The bartender then started heckling her by saying “hey pretty girl.” Then the other two men left the bartender and came over to her and tried to use the introductory ruse of selling ackee to her. One of the men introduced himself by shaking her hand but then not letting go of her hand as he tried to pressure her into walking down the beach with them. They wanted to walk in the opposite direction from which I had gone. They then got to the real reason as to why they had approached her, they started openly and vulgarly talking about sex. Saying that they would like to get her pregnant and asking her if she likes freaky men. She was very upset about what was happening to her as at her young age, she had never been treated that way before; especially from men who were old enough to be her father. Thankfully, she did the right thing and pulled her hand free from the man and got up and walked away from this high pressure ambush style aggressiveness. I felt at fault because I should have just had her walk down the beach with me. However, I feel like the Coco La Palm security guard on duty at the time should not have missed what was happening. Also, the Sandy Haven bartender should not have been colluding with men selling things on the beach and trying to take advantage of a young girl as soon as her parent was not looking. What if my daughter would have walked off with those men. That is how people get raped or go missing. Employees at resorts, your first priority is to protect the guests who visit you. When I came back from my walk and my daughter told me what happened, I was very much pissed off, and she initially did not tell me that the Sandy Haven bartender was involved. I think that she did not want him to get into trouble. If she had told me about his involvement initially, I would have confronted him and his boss immediately. The next morning we were scheduled to fly out so I decided to go over to Sandy Haven before leaving and talked with the manager, a man named Mr. wright. He did not seem to know that he should have apologized for the actions of his employee, he just kept saying “oh my” and that he would look at the roster to see who was the bartender at the beach bar the night before. I asked for the phone number of the owner as it is a small place. Mr. Wright said that he could not give out the phone number of the owner but that he would have him call me. He nor the owner ever called me. Simply, Sandy Haven was terrible. It was early in the morning when I was leaving and the manager at Coco La Palm was not on duty yet so I called her when I arrived back home. Unlike Mr. Wright, she apologized for the incident and said that she would talk to the general manager and their staff to make sure that this doesn't happen again. However, I asked her to call me and follow up, but I never heard from her again. As I said earlier, I did have a good time during the week at Coco La Palm. Does the good time offset the bad time from the incident, it sure doesn't feel that way to me or my daughter. During our last evening in Negril, during the long drive back to the Montego Bay airport the next morning, and during the flight back home, the mood between my daughter and I was not one of happiness and fond memories. The mood was dark. We kept replaying the incident in our minds. We will probably not go back to Coco La Palm again because, in the end, it really doesn't matter if you have a good somewhere, when you have a traumatic incident, it hangs in the air like a dark cloud that only time can move.

Iddeal location

Bumwns (Uniondale) on Jul 25, 2023

This property was clean and enough washcloths and towels were available. Staff was cordial and welcoming. Restaurant prices were affordable. Drinks were good. Beach was nice and clean. We didn’t have too many people on the soliciting us as most people would say. It also seems to feel secure. If there’s an issue, the staff would pay attention to it. It’s a very quiet and laid back spot if you want to be away from a million people at a time. However, as clean and inviting as it was cosmetically some things can be updated. For example, every time you sat on the toilet it shakes as if it needed to be bolted down. When housing wiped the floor, it stayed wet for too long.
