The hotel is huge and impressive, the rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. We came to Orlando for a long weekend, and I chose this place because I wanted to be out of the Disney/universal crowds and also because the price was right. But.. surprise fee! $36/day to park in self parking was a bitter little pill. And they were doing construction or something on top of us all weekend that woke us up each morning. We were very ready to go home by checkout day.

Excellent stay. No complaints with the room or accomodations. The staff was great at check in.

They canceled my reservation (made months ago) because my card declined two days prior to my stay. They sent one email saying I had 48 hours to respond, they did not even have the courtesy to call me, and I have stayed with them previously. I heard from other people attending the same event that they had contacted the hotel immediately upon seeing the cancellation emails (within hours of receiving them) and their reservations were cancelled anyway. The card I had used months in advance to make my reservation was declined because I had a fraudulent charge and the CC company sent me a card with a new number. I didn't realize that the hotel would rerun the card a few days prior to the booked stay, and planned to use the updated card (same account, new number) at check in. If Shingle Creek had had the courtesy to pick up the phone and call me, I would have been able to give them the new number in advance. Instead, because they had overbooked the hotel (by their own admission) they canceled my four-night reservation less than 48 hours before my stay. I noticed they had openings the first and last night I had booked and gave up my longer reservation for a two-night stay by someone else, not the most solid business practice. I expected a lot more from this hotel.

I first reviewed this property about 9 years ago, and we recently returned and had another great stay at the Rosen Shingle Creek. We booked this hotel via an "express deal" on Priceline and got a really good price. We really appreciate this hotel for its classic look, cleanliness and attention to detail, and the fact that this property offers so much to see and do that one really doesn't need to leave to find a good restaurant, a sports bar or even sports-related activities as there are so many amenities on-site. It's also located very close to Universal Studios and a few other parks. We arrived and found parking relatively close to the front entrance in the large lot, we got checked in by friendly and efficient staff, and since we were a bit hungry and wanted something to hold us over until our dinner reservation later, we headed down to Mi Casa Tequila Taqueria, which is a small Mexican restaurant not far from the lobby. There they made our guacamole tableside in front of us and aside from a hiccup from the bartender/server who appeared to be new, we had a good meal. Our room was well-appointed with everything in good condition, the bed was comfortable and we slept well here, and after checking out, we stayed for a few more hours to enjoy the pool, we each had a freshly made sub and chips from 18 Monroe Steet Market next to the pool for lunch, and had a few frozen drinks and watched some of the playoff game at the outdoor sports bar which is also located poolside. In all another great stay here, and I'd happily return to Rosen Shingle Creek in the future.

We stayed 4 nights at the Shingle Creek and it was fantastic! The pool options were perfect. The lap pool is a great way to get in a workout while being outside. We rented a cabana one day when we had some local family visit us and it was perfect. The restaurants are top notch! We enjoyed the italian restaurant twice! The bartender, Bryon was very attentive, helpful and friendly. He made a custom drink based on a description of what my friend likes. He loved it! The Land steak house was delicious! We also enjoyed the homemade guac and a light mexican meal one night. Service was great everywhere we went. (pool bar, market area, take out breakfast)
