Perfect Family Vacation
Holly J on Jul 11, 2026
We just got back from another family vacation at Omni Rancho Las Palmas and once again it exceeded our expectations for an amazing family trip. Every single employee we interacted with was incredibly kind, attentive and genuinely welcoming. Everyone from the front desk to the lifeguards to the waiters and waitresses. If you’re looking for a peaceful, adults-only atmosphere, this probably isn’t the resort for you, it is definitely a place built for families and kids (there is an adult only pool, but it looks like it could use some work to spruce up). There are so many activities for kids, from the pools and splash areas to all the family-friendly events throughout the day. We love the sand area and the water slides, it’s just so much fun for everyone. Our children had an absolute blast, which meant we got to relax and enjoy ourselves too. It’s a great balance of fun and relaxation, and it’s become one of our favorite family traditions. We look forward to coming back every year and it’s always a trip our kids talk about long after we’ve returned home. If you’re traveling with children, I can’t recommend it enough. One criticism: the splash pad floor is coming loose and needs some love!
Zero out of Ten...Would Not Recommend

Save your money and book elsewhere. It was over priced. The amenities were over crowded. The lazy river had to be closed because it was "too dirty" and that's a quote from staff at the pool. The room smelled like a beach or public park restroom. When we mentioned it to the staff, they asked us to leave the room so they could deodorize it. Upon our return, the smell was still there. There were flies buzzing around our table in the Desert Pearl restaurant even though we were sitting indoors. We stayed at a different property the night before and wished we'd stayed there instead of at the Omni. zero out of ten...would not recommend.
Feels like a bait and switch

This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I've had in a long time. Before booking, I specifically called the hotel because the "kids eat free" promotion was one of the main reasons we were considering staying here. I asked if it applied to all of the restaurants and was told that it did. After we arrived, we found out it only applied to one restaurant. Had I been given the correct information, I would have seriously reconsidered booking this hotel. Being misled before even arriving set the tone for the rest of the stay. The food itself was another disappointment. It was overpriced for the quality, and it honestly felt like the menu prices had been inflated just to make up for the cost of the "kids eat free" promotion. We paid premium prices for meals that were average at best. The surprise charges kept coming. At check-in, I was told self-parking would be $20 per night, but when I checked my bill, I had been charged $30 per night instead. On top of that, there was a $45 per day resort fee, which is outrageous considering what the resort actually offers. To make matters worse, the room wasn't even clean. There was obvious dust buildup on the bathroom door that had clearly been there for quite some time. Housekeeping also didn't bother replacing or washing our used drinking glasses—they simply put the dirty glasses back as if they had been cleaned. That is completely unacceptable and made me question how thoroughly the room was cleaned overall. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that the pool was nice and our kids enjoyed it. Unfortunately, a nice pool doesn't make up for misleading information, excessive fees, overpriced food, inaccurate charges, and poor housekeeping. I left feeling like the hotel was more interested in finding ways to charge guests extra than providing the quality experience their prices suggest. I won't be staying here again, and I wouldn't recommend it to others.
Horrible Experience & BED BUGS!

We had an ok time, as a party of 7 with small kids and teenagers. It was extremely packed, the SMALL lazy river was more like bumper cars and barely floated around since it was so packed. People fighting over seats and reserving seats even when their party wasn't outside. Food was barely subpar which I guess is expected for being bar food/pool food. Drinks weren't strong at all. The activities for kids you had to pay for - nothing was included for the kids. We ate at the desert pearl restaurant and the buffet was very expensive despite the kids being free and food was not good at all, cold and flavorless. But the biggest issue was there were BUGS in our bed. I had to create an incident report and they didn't try to compensate us for it - I have videos and photos of the bugs and said because there needs to be an investigation apparently. Overall, I don't recommend, I'm sure there are better resorts in the surrounding area.
Took advantage of young travelers.

WON'T RETURN. The manager took advantage of my youn daughter and charged them an early check in fee. She could have given her an option of holding her luggage and enjoying their time at the pool. Charged $75! Shady and we won't return.
