Do not book unless you want to be overcharged
Ryan H on Jan 06, 2026
Stayed here for a night after flight got cancelled and they charged me twice and will not refund . Wouldn't even let us eat breakfast in morning at 7am before we went back to airport without another $450 mxn charge . Room wasn't at a discount either was $347 cad / night . Not sure how they can get away with this and not refund. Definitely won't recommend this resort to anyone.
Great 3 Star Option in Puerto Vallarta!
Liz S on Jan 01, 2026
Krystal Vallarta is a great 3 star resort. I went in with low to moderate expectations knowing the price was quite a bit less than other resorts. I have been pleasantly surprised! There are two buffet restaurants that both serve similar dishes each day. One is by the pool/beach. The other is by the lobby. There is always fresh fruit and veggies available. Almost always, there is a pasta dish as well as chicken options. Most times there is also delicious fish! I NEVER went hungry. Is it repetitive, yes… but is there always something decent to eat, also yes! There is a third restaurant that is an Asian a la carte. Haven’t tried it yet, we plan on checking it out tomorrow. You have to book in the morning of the you want to go at the restaurant during breakfast hours. There are three bars. One in the lobby, one by the main pool and one in the restaurant next to the main pool. Lots of great drinks to choose from; my favourites were Lime Margarita, Spicy Mango Margarita, Michalada, Mojitos and always a cold cerveza. Water and ice served in the bar is safe to drink to keep you hydrated. All pools are open as of January 2026. There is a major construction project happening adjacent to the hotel. This project closed the pool for some time in 2025, but it is re-opened. Expect construction noise. We chose this hotel based on price. We were looking for an affordable option. Travel is expensive these days as the costs of life have increased dramatically. If you got a deal compared to other hotels, there’s a reason why… it’s not 4 or 5 star. But it is a solid 3! If you are on the hunt for an affordable option, this place has a great beach, close to the airport and shopping and miles and miles of beach for you to walk!
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE

First off the photos on their site does NOT accurately represent this resort. My wife and I stayed here on December 17th, 2025 as a result of a cancelled flight. We were transported to the hotel where we checked in as an all inclusive. Our room was on the 24th floor in the building closest to the check in area and dining area. Our room consisted of a King bed, which was comfortable. The room was pretty plain, the bathroom had a walk in shower. The bathroom had no soap, face clothes and three towels, which we used one for the floor outside the shower. There was a half a roll toilet paper and about 6 nose tissues in the box dispenser. There was no additional toilet rolls or tissues. The ceiling in the bathroom was water stained and partial missing ceiling. There were two small bottles of water in the room. The bar fridge was empty and turned off. There was a Mexican dinner on the outside dining area and an Italian dinner on the inside dining room. We ate Italian and can only say it was terrible. The Bolognese used in the pasta was definitely from a can. It even had the can taste to it. The service was non existent. There were maybe 6 other couples eating Italian at this time and everyone could be heard complaining about service and food. The following morning before leaving we went for breakfast which was minimal compared to every other all inclusive we have been to in Puerto Vallarta and area. The most distressing thing was raccoons were on the buffet food displays picking through the open fruit as well the bread area. The workers just watched them laughing about them picking through the food. I ended up getting up and chasing the raccoons away. They came back again and again the workers watched and laughed at them. Another guest got up and chased them away. It seemed the workers were a little upset with people chasing them away. We had to get our water at breakfast and eventually they came and poured us a cup of coffee which was really watered down. The concierge and main lobby bartenders were very nice and helpful. We were only there one night and would never go back there. It was absolutely terrible. NOTE: PURIFIED WATER IS NOT SUPPLIED AT THIS RESORT. WE WERE DIRECTED TO A STORE TO BUY OUR OWN.
Dirty Old Loud
Sonia S on Dec 27, 2025
Dirty, old, loud. Glad we didn’t do All Inclusive. Food and drinks are horrible. Resort is broken down. Location was convenient for the airport and shopping. Not convenient for all tourist activities. They had a singer show up at 10:30pm one night and blasted the music through the hotel on level 100. Woke us up when we had an early morning whale watching. Walls are paper thin and babies next door woke up crying. We called to ask them to turn it down. Never happened. Walked down there explaining we’re sleeping and it’s way too loud on our floor. Literally did not care. Nobody was downstairs listening to the singer. Called 3xs to get hangars, never came. Miserable experience.
Low cost carrier pretending to be a full service airline (WestJet) partner hotel.
TKC_YVR (Vancouver, Canada) on Dec 27, 2025
Low cost carrier Westjet airline cancelled our flight and put us in this 2-star all inclusive resort. We were assigned a room in the older building and it was absolutely horrible. The hotel is dated, everything about the room feels cheap and poorly maintained. The bed is tired, the door is paper thin and the common areas are full of racoons. Food wasn't great either, but staff are generally friendly. I believe they have a sister resort nearby, so maybe check that out instead.
