A week visit in Puerta Vallarta
Judy C on Sep 08, 2024
I spent a week here which was too long for me but that is because I am not a beach or pool person. It was lovely, the staff was wonderful, the restaurants were good and there is nothing that I can or will complain about it.
Off season wet and relaxing get away
Morencytips (Katy, Texas) on Sep 06, 2024
We were there for nearly a week during the rain season. Every evening expect showers some light and some heavy but all activities could be done during the day. and it seemed occupancy for the most part was about 30-40%. Getting drinks from servers and the bar was quick and easy. The staff was friendly and attentive. On Friday afternoon more people showed up, my guess is that the occupancy moved up to 45-55%. At this level the pool area was full, you could still get your drinks relatively easy and still had some elbow room for yourself. During the beginning of the week I thought to myself I’d like to come back when it isn’t raining as much. But after seeing the crowd on the weekend, it might not be as relaxing a trip as it was. So I recommend if you don’t want to me in a crowded environment, come the last week of August and come to relax and get a little rained on.
Beautiful

Booked the best room in the hotel with an amazing view and private pool. What more can you ask for? All inclusive!
Not the Right Choice for Families

Hyatt Dreams in Puerto Vallarta fell short of our expectations in every way, especially for a family trip. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and family-friendly place to stay. Our experience started off poorly and didn’t improve much from there. A few days into the trip we noticed strong and clearly toxic paint fumes on our floor. My whole family suffered from headaches and our children were coughing and unable to nap. We mentioned this to the staff, but the painting continued for hours. After they told us they would help remedy the situation. It’s surprising that guest comfort and safety wasn’t a bigger priority. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the end of our problems. During our stay, my whole family caught COVID, raising questions about the hotel’s cleanliness and sanitation practices. When we spoke to the manager, Hector Pulido, about these issues, he wasn’t very accommodating. In fact he talked down to my sister and was disrespectful to my husband. Instead of offering a proper solution, we were simply moved to another room, which didn’t make up for the situation, and was also very inconvenient with our kids in tow. Although Hyatt’s corporate-level customer service mentioned a refund was possible, Hector declined to provide one, and we had to handle the charges with our credit card company. The hotel itself seems past its prime, and does not at all reflect many of the pictures we saw on TripAdvisor before booking. Our room was not as clean as we expected, with dirt on the floors and a shower with inconsistent water pressure. Housekeeping was irregular, sometimes coming by late in the evening. The children’s pool was too close to a smoking area, and the smell of cigarettes drifted over constantly. The other pools weren't well-maintained, with visible debris floating around. The beach was small and rocky, with vendors constantly approaching guests. The rooms felt outdated and lacked some basic amenities, like a stocked fridge and reliable Wi-Fi. Noise was also an issue, with loud music playing late at night, which made it hard to rest. The dining options were limited and not particularly family-friendly. The food was bland, service was slow, and the buffet left much to be desired in terms of quality and cleanliness. Despite all these challenges, we tried to enjoy our time as a family. However, I would suggest looking at other hotels in Puerto Vallarta for a better experience. Hyatt Dreams didn’t meet our expectations for a family-friendly vacation spot. Needless to say, we will not be back.
Disappointed

The hotel rooms and property is a little run down and dirty. Definitely did not look like the photos. There was an odor in our room. The food was ok, but not really surprised since it is all inclusive. There was one thing that did bother my husband and I. We traveled with our children 6/8 and the Italian restaurant did not allow kids, which we found strange since it is on the “family side” Dreams. There were a few other things as well, but I would not come back to this location.
