The worst beach area ever. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!

I will never come back to Dominican Republic because of this trip. DO NOT GO to this resort!!!!!!!!!!! The beach area is absolutely disgusting!!!!!!!!!!! The water is brown, without waives. Dogs in the USA have a better beach. The resort is old, entertainment crew is poor, and the resort is located very far from the international airport. Will cost you additional $260 for the transport from the airport to the resort. The food was very good, but if you want great beach, you will be very disappointed.

English not looked after

So we arrived Sunday, Monday morning we reported a problem with our bed to be told someone would come as soon as possible. So we have now been waiting 6 days. In the mean time the toilet blocked twice, on the third time it Iver flowed into the bathroom, after they had checked it twice, so they finally replaced the whole toilet. When we tried to use the coffee machine, it too didnt work. So that's been replaced. Back to the bed it's now Saturday, after contacting reception on Monday and Tuesday, then our rep on Thursday. Today we again contacted customer relations nothing happened. I messaged tui directly and then got a phone call about an hour and a half ago we got a call asking if I got my pillow, I said I'm not waiting for a pillow I'm waiting for my bed to be sorted, she passed me to a supervisor, he said he would send a technician now. Then phone rang within a minute to ask are you in your room, well umm yes as I've answered the phone. She said I'm on my way, but yet again, we are still waiting. We have not had a proper night's sleep for 6 nights. Friday night, hubby slept on the Sofa so he could get some sleep They don't seem to care.

NOT as expected!

The beach is horrible! Do not let the pictures fool you. I've been to the Caribbean several times and was expecting the clear blue water but the water was muddy and there is no chance of snorkeling without leaving the property. The pools, restaurants, grounds people, housecleaning and wait staff were great! All very friendly and eager to be helpful. Guest services, room service and folks at the check-in counter were less helpful. They were unwilling or unable to address our issues and each person had a different story of why the electricity would not stay on in our room. Our room's electricity would go out as much as 10 times a day. They scheduled a golf cart to pick us up at 2:30 a.m. to meet our driver to the airport but it never happened. We had to haul our luggage down the steps and over to the meeting place ourselves. Overall my sister and I enjoyed our stay despite the lack of Caribbean water at the resort beach and getting the run around about our room's electricity. We stayed at the adult quiet pool for most of the trip and were able to relax. The a la cart restaurants were especially good. We fell in love with the Mediterranean restaurant. The service and the food were amazing!

Bahia a great all inclusive resort for adults only.

Where do you start as everything and everyone is working to make you feel great while experiencing a truly all inclusive service. It’s all inclusive because it has 24/7 room service as well as 6 restaurants and great buffet restaurants if you don’t feel like booking a special dinner. This is my third visit to this hotel, it’s that good.

Another 5 Star Bouganville vacation!

We absolutely love this resort and rate it #1 out of the many different ones we go to. This resort truly has the BEST service, beautiful grounds, a clean beach and pool areas, a great selection of restaurants and a top notch entertainment team. A big thanks to our butler Isaury who goes over and above each and every time we come. His level of service is truly outstanding, the best we have had in the Caribbean! (even when he is off) The Reception Manager Dinanyeris(Dina) always has a smile (it could light up a room)and a genuine greeting when we see her. Dina is very approachable and goes over and above to ensure her visitors feel at home and have everything needed to make the stay the best it can be. Lobby Bar: can’t say enough about the 5 star service from Isabelle and Mayelin. We never need to ask for a drink as they are always keeping an eye on us from a distance. Waitress Patricia was off while we were there this time and was greatly missed. The Entertainment Team always keeps things fun and exciting throughout the day and evening. Thank you Ana, Pablo, Juan, Israel, Miraysi, Roxanna, Wellinton, Rigoberto and Smith for all you do to keep us tourists busy with games and always entertained. Breakfast buffet: thanks to Addelin, Juan, Kilsey, Buenaventura, Ronny, Yofreisy, Erica, Freddy, Cesar and Tony. A special shout out to Chef Luis at the omelete station. It’s impressive that he always remembers my order! (Even when I return 5 months later) Le Gourmet: thank you Hector, Mavel, Mireya, Juan and Jose for ALWAYS making us feel at home at our favourite restaurant. Takara: Fantastic menu and awesome service from Sarah, Kilsey, Buenaventura, Yofreisy and Pedro. Thank you to the chef who always prepares a piping hot vegetarian teppanyaki for me. I truly appreciate the special order. Dinner Buffet: We can’t say enough about the staff working this buffet. The variety is plentiful with something for everyone. The theme also changes every night. Thank you to Radaisi and her team for everything. Housekeeping was outstanding although I never got to officially meet my housekeeper as she did my room early mornings when I left for the pool and was gone by the time I returned Thank you to DJ Fido for the fabulous variety of music during the day(pool)and evenings(lobby). Fido is always willing to take requests. It’s awesome to hear music from various genres and languages. Everything from reggaeton, merengue, bachata, pop, rock, disco, Motown, rap and country. Spanish, German, French, Italian, English and more! There was something for everyone! A welcome change from other resorts who repeat the same play lists throughout the day. Room service is incredible! On time, hot and a great selection on the menu. We order a snack from the lunch/dinner menu everyday around 5pm and have never been disappointed. Thank you to our servers Javier and Juan! A shoutout to the garden crew for keeping the grounds so clean and beautiful. A big thanks to Yisidro and the janitorial crew for their outstanding job keeping everything spotless. You never see food on the floors, garbage on the ground and all the washrooms are spotless anytime you enter one! (I always say they are the cleanest I have been in as the cleaner is usually posted close by) Thank you to lifeguards Kietel, Workin and Franklin for keeping us safe at the pools and the beach. A HUGE shoutout to the waitstaff at the pool who ensure we always have an amazing(and perfect)Caesar in our glass. Yes they have Clamato juice and the proper rimmer spice! Thanks DaLisa, Celeste, Marcio, Edgar and Josephina! Honourable Mention to the resort’s Assistant Manager Ana who has a hello and a high five for everyone. She is so upbeat, friendly and goes out of her way to greet everyone she passes. (Plus she is a really good dancer) We have voted our Butler Isaury as our top employee during this stay and highly recommend you request his services during your vacation. Note to tourists: have fun, enjoy the pools, beach, restaurants, bars and activities as there really is something for everyone at this resort. Remember to be kind, courteous and respectful to the staff who work hard to ensure us tourists have the best vacation possible. Being a good human and a simple please and thank you goes a long way. ?? Tipping: is optional and has no bearing on the level service you will receive. However, please remember the employees work very long hours for little pay so tips go a long way to help with the extras needed for their families. ***We always tip as this is already something we are accustomed to doing in Canada and feel the staff deserve it for the excellent service that they continuously provide to us. If you are thinking about booking this resort go for it, you will not be disappointed! More reviews next time!
