A great time with friends!

In all we had a wonderful time with our friends. I must say our Concierge Santo was the best we’ve ever had! He made our stay the best it could be, Santo you are great at what you do! The Entertainment Crew is another added bonus, they are a hoot, you can see they love what they do! Our favourite show was the 70/80’s. The food is very good, we preferred the buffets vs the A La Carte. The buffet has a lot of choices but at times is a bit repetitive, but I must say very tasty. A bit disappointed with the Brazilian restaurant, meat was a bit chewy, Italian was only average. Rooms are clean, no bugs but our bed was not comfortable at all, hard as rock. Rooms were cleaned daily, fridge was restocked and our Concierge made sure to have the little extras we wanted ??. Didn’t realize they had , shampoo, conditioner, soap, body cream and even a makeup mirror. The hallways are dated, carpets and floors should be changed. The ocean water isn’t the best, water is definitely not clear and there is seaweed, the beach itself is beautiful, a lot of sun or shade. I must say the grounds are absolutely gorgeous, clean and breathtaking! I would recommend this beautiful resort.

Staff really does treat you like family!

We rated the experience a 5 due to the amazing staff and service. Argenis, and Luis were excellent bellman and shuttle. Our butler, Isaurey, by far exceeded our expectations . He was very attentive, went above and beyond to celebrate our Mom’s bday, paid attention to the littlest details about us. He created an outstanding experience. Our friends in the breakfast buffet were phenomenal. I wish I could remember all their names. Our friend with the braces went above and beyond. The hostess noticed the salt shaker was empty when I tried to use so she ran and got me packets. All of the team was extremely attentive. Everyone we interacted with was an exceptional. I will say that we did have a lot of issues in the room. The phone was dead on day 1. They came twice and never replaced it. We have the app but unfortunately the concierge tab didn’t work so it was hard to request maintenance most days. Thanks to Isaurey, he assisted with sending maintenance. The fridge was dead. They came twice and “fixed” it but it didn’t get better. After day 3 they replaced it upon our request. The toilet was difficult. You had to wait at least an hour in order to flush the toilet. They said it was fixed but it didn’t get better. We used the lobby toilet as our main resource. The room is tired. It needs preventative maintenance and a deep clean. The tub was not appealing at all. The stay over service was very good, but the last night someone came in while we were at dinner and took 2 of our pillows? That was so odd. I Manage a full service Marriott in the states and would welcome any of your staff to work at my property. We were blown away with the professionalism and hospitality provided. Thank you for the wonderful experience

Another great vacation

We flew to Punta Cana on April 9/24. We hired private transfer to get to the resort. It took about 1hr10min. When we arrived we checked in. The guest service team was excellent. Our rooms were ready. Our butler Jose took us to them. The rooms were as we had requested, near each other, ground floor. The rooms are large and clean. The maids are very fast and efficient cleaning the rooms. Wifi throughout the resort is free. It was our second year in a row to this resort so we were familiar with everything. In the lobby bar we had amazing service from Rosa, Isabel and Margalene. Amazing mudslides. The buffet had great variety of foods, all delicious. We were delighted to see Juan, the big guy over the food. Very welcoming and friendly. My aunt was interested in how to fold the napkins so Cheyla gave us a folding lesson, very helpful, fun and bubbly. We ate at the Brazilian. Omar is delightful. Food was excellent, fun experience. At the lunch buffet at the pool, we were provided great service by Anderson and Anderson. We also ate at the Italian. Got a shuttle to the other side. Dinner was excellent, very good chicken parmasen. They called for the shuttle to pick us up again. Excellent. The entertainment team around the pool in the afternoon do a great job. Very funny when getting people to participate. Overall it was a great experience at the Grand Baha’i Bouganville. Hoping to return again.

Spring vacation

First off it's on a connected river so the water is not clear at all. That was the biggest issue for me being a beach person. The food was the same every day on buffets. Reservations are hard to get. You need Reservations for all but 1 I believe. Only got 3 in an entire week and we made them immediately. Checked every day as well. Restaurants were never full so that was disappointing

Stolen New Sunglasses form room

The best thing about this hotel are the beautiful gardens. That is ALL! The hotels room are dated, mould around, bad smell. This cant be 5 * hotel. I would rate it just for 3* max compare to my previous experience with the hotels. A/C is just in the main restaurant and in the evening was so low so we couldn't enjoy our dinner as there was so cold,you want to leave as soon as you can, the other thing was, too busy, there was not enough tables to serve all the guest, we were queuing almost each evening for table. I don't like you have to ask all the time for glass of water. Water is available just in the lobby to help yourself. In the beach restaurant was very hot, not A/C.Food burgers, chips, pizza all usuals, no much salat, flies everywhere and a lot. Brand New designer sunglasses was stolen from our room. We find out on my daughters birthday, it was present for her. Never bring valuables with you to this hotel. There was lady missing expensive jewellery from room safe. So many people daily coming to rooms. One person toping up your bar with drinks. The other was painting our room during our stay, cleaning lady...another with the bathroom supplies, it was really not relaxing holiday. Beach next to the hotel was not as nice as on the pictures, water wasn't clear at all and every day full of jelly fish. My kids enjoyed the pool, but so many people was seating in the pool bar all day drinking and never go to the bathroom, so I refuse to go to pool again We stuck in this hotel for 2 weeks, after one week whole family wanted go home. The highlight of the holiday was trip to Saona island.
