Good for Budget Friendly Place To Stay

Ktejj (Peterborough) on Jan 28, 2023

This hotel is a great place with some very friendly workers who really put in the effort to make you feel welcome. It is a lovely property that has a luxurious appeal so long as you don't focus to much on the little things. The gourmet restaurants are excellent. We especially enjoyed both the Don Pablo and the Asian restaurant. The service received in these restaurants was exceptional, as was the food!! One thing I would say to anyone wanting to book into these restaurants is to do it when they arrive as they fill up fast. The buffets were nice. We loved the service we received at the breakfast buffet in the mornings. It was fantastic as the staff are super friendly and you are always well attended to. The cleaning of the rooms could definitely be better. Somedays we would go back to our room, beds made, minibar filled, bathroom cleaned with towels hung neatly. Other days we would go back and find the beds barely made, the bathroom not cleaned and no change in the hand towels at all. Never knowing what to expect when going back to the room made that part less enjoyable and certainly took away from the luxurious feel. Our room also had two broken drawers which wasn't exactly what you expect when you think of luxury but we didn't consider it a very big deal. The beach has lots of places to sit and lots of palm trees, it can get a bit "squishy" with people close to you in every direction but the focus is still definitely the palm trees, comfy chairs and sun. The erosion on the beach is noticeable as there is a bit of steep decline to get down to the water but they do have stairs. The water is lovely once you get in but getting in can be a bit tricky. There are lots of rocks and quite a drop when you first start to walk in. Once you get a lay of the land it is manageable but we did see a few people fall, both getting in and getting out. The water is not clear but still nice and the temperature is good. The pool at the front near the beach is quite noisy but people are having fun as they should be on holiday. If you go there early, it will be nice and quiet until 10:00am. The best drinks we had were from the bar by the dinner buffet. Overall, I would recommend this resort as a good place to go for people wanting a decent adult resort for a good price. It is the most "luxurious" option in the area but I wouldn't call it luxury as there are too many little things that together, leave it a little less than that. It is still lovely, the staff are friendly (some even remember your drink order when they see you) and you are looking for all of that for a more budget friendly price. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Not a 5 star

lceliku (Montreal, Canada) on Jan 27, 2023

Tired looking rooms in need of an upgrade. Slow service. Empty minibars. 30minute obligatory wait time line ups every breakfast , lunch and dinner, every day. Bottleneck is slow table set up. Ok for a 4 star hotel, but not comparable with the real five stars in the area. Management seems absent.

Disappointed

Destiney D (Virginia Beach, Virginia) on Jan 26, 2023

NOOOOOOOO. I would not recommend this resort as an all inclusive. Many cocktails and beers were an up charge due to being a “premium” drink. The buffet had consistently cold food and it was very under seasoned. This resort is very tip driven when gratuity was already included. They advertise 1 hour a day of snorkeling but upon arriving was told it was 40$ per person. We were also not informed that we needed a reservation for water sports until we tried to do them and they were booked. The restaurants were reservation based and when we tried to schedule them they were fully booked for the entirety of our stay or they only had 8-9 o’clock available. The pool was only open until 6pm and the pools are very small if you stay in the adult resort. The jacuzzis were all cold so do not expect a hot tub. The nightly entertainment was the exact same thing every night and the music is very loud. I wish they would have done a variety of events (comedian, card show, or game night) instead. This is my 4th all inclusive and I was very disappointed by this resort. I would recommend going anywhere else. Also, the casino is closed so do not pick this resort for that.
