7/10

yorkshirerose17 (Doncaster, United Kingdom) on May 19, 2026

A solid 7/10. We just left the resort and all in all we had a lovely relaxing time. Pros 98% of the staff there are so lovely and friendly, yes sometimes there is a language barrier however, I’m learning Spanish so I tried to make an effort where I could. The room was cleaned daily and cleaned well. The fridge in the room was stocked daily and the team were more than happy to leave extra water if we asked. We were in block 8 and it was perfect, next to the pool, lobby and buffet/restaurants. Walk 5/10 mins down the beach and there is a little row of shops that sell gifts and trinkets. The people are lovely and it’s much cheaper than the hotel shop. The young lady singing in the lobby bar was brilliant. Cons The food. Boring. That’s all. We only tried the “Indian” and the steak à la cartes. The Indian, just isn’t. They need to consult an Indian cuisine chef. The steak was nice, however we weren’t offered a starter option and we weren’t sure if we were to get them from the salad bar (FYI - you need to order them). There are constantly people trying to sell you a timeshare (FYI - avoid the people in green). And I mean, constantly. We both got sick and we believe it was from the beer. It was cloudy and tasted sour at each of the bars, except for one day in the lobby bar (when the management team appeared to be there) when it was clear and tasted good. It’s then we realised that was probably what was making us sick. Avoid the theatre, it was awful.

Our Second Stay

ocfoley (Lake Mary, Florida) on May 18, 2026

The reason for our second stay was that we enjoyed the first so much and this trip was no different. The pool and pool deck were spotless even with the number of people. The beach was 'red flagged' for our stay so that increased the number in the pool area. Bar staff was consistently present, but not bugging you to death for service. The food in the Poseidon Restaurant and Las Torres always looked very fresh and there were many healthy options along with the pizza/burger/fry options. Again, a very clean space in light of the turnover. We did partake in the Indian Restaurant and the Japanese Restaurant. The Indian Restaurant is always my favorite due to the options available. Consider the "heat level" to be more a "tourist" level. I was with a friend who is not used to true home-made Indian food and she found it to be just fine. I could have used a bit more heat. (Maybe ask to see if they can give you a more home spun flavor/heat?) I was a bit disappointed with the Teppanyaki table. One of the guests had a Lactose allergy so that meant no butter was used in ANY of the cooking, not just hers, which also meant no Japanese mayo for the table either. All in all a great trip!! I guarantee there will be a third trip in our future!!

GP Punta Cana

hrtdanny142 (Queens, New York) on May 18, 2026

Wouldn’t recommend this location, stayed at TRS in Costa Mujeres and had a much better experience. Upon arrival, management seemed unaccommodating to provide us with the double bed room we requested over the phone right after completing our booking online - offered us a room with a king bed and a sofa bed because there were “no more double bed rooms available until Sunday (the last day of our trip)” - then magically found us another room at the neighboring Palace. This interaction costed us most of what was left of our free time, on day 1. The next day, hoping to start over on a new leaf, we had a nice beach day but to our surprise when we returned to our room - there was water leaking from our closet. We tried contacting the front desk via phone call, and to no avail - we were unable to. We then had to walk to the lobby, and speak to the same supervisor we had a bad interaction with the day prior. He agreed to send someone right away, to which they ended up coming 30 minutes or so later - when we had a reservation to that same night that waiting for him to arrive cut into getting ready for. When the maintenance man arrived, he started working on fixing the issue but took no prior pictures of what everything looked like where he got there. Once he was done, he said it may still drip but the main issue behind the water was now fixed. After he left, we began getting ready and while one of us were in the shower - another maintenance guy showed up, again cutting into our time to get ready. This one though, seemed to be as frustrated as we were with the leaking and the fact there was no picture taken prior to the issue being fixed and was very helpful in having our reservations moved to a later time because of this. The day after, we had requested new towels and rags for the bathroom.. we only received towels, and because the phones didn’t work in the room - we had to revisit the front desk to receive them. It took over an hour for them to bring them to the room, which luckily for us having the medium sized towels didn’t delay us any further. Outside of these issues, service at restaurants were very inconsistent. At the buffet, staff were hard to find, not really interactive or all that friendly. In comparison to my stay in Costa Mujeres, this was very disappointing and lackluster. The person I was traveling with has never tried GP and was completely turned off as well.
