Good time

We had a nice time. The resort is a little outdated, but it was clean and staff was friendly. The A/C didn't work in our first room and so they moved us to another room on day 2. The food was good. We paid extra to go to Chic Caberet and it was definitely worth it, one of our favorite things! A few staff members to mention are Juan (meluma baby) with pool activities, Jorge, and Alex at the restaurants. Other great staff members that I can't remember the names of. We didn't really have any trouble finding chairs at pool/beach, but it's also low season. There were way too many people trying to sell you stuff at the beach, they weren't too pushy though.
Beach area Sucks

No beach to speak of it drops off a 1.5-foot hill. Water was dirty and seaweed everywhere. Hard to find anyone that speaks English
Very Nice Resort - It was better than Average, but not "Very Good".

The Hotel was beautiful; the beach was literally at our feet. The water was warm - which we swam in day and night. The drinks were fantastic at the lobby bar, next to the coffee shop. The hotel staff was wonderful, kind and friendly. Anything we went to them about, they did resolve immediately. But there were several issues we experienced. We did not get our complimentary drink upon arrival, like other guests received. The room we paid for and requested, is not what we got. It was a Oceanview Suite with a loft, but instead of 2 beds and a couch, we got 1 bed and couch. I didn't pay to sleep in the bed with another person. However, the room was very nice and clean. The buffet food was not great, definitely get a reservation at a la carte. Which was the next issue, we were never told upon registration that we needed to make dinner reservations for the entire week. Another family member arrived within the hour and got the complimentary drink and was told about reservations. By the time we found out, there was no place to reserve. The concierge - Ceasar, was awesome. He kept us informed of cancellations and ensure we could get into the restaurants we wanted with our family members. He is the reason I would rate overall service very good. On our last night in Punta Cana, the restaurant we went to had a bug or cockroach crawling on the plates next to the salad bar. I did not want to eat there after that. The Waite staff acted like it was not big deal, but to me, it was. Big shout out to Jonathan with the Travel Club, he did arrange for travel to a gift/souvenir shop. We did the 9 and 1 Adventure/Excursion - we got to zip line, taste test, horseback ride, ATV, eat Dominican food, see the TAINO show, swim in a cave and enjoy a mini carnival experience. The only thing we did not do was jet ski and tour the city of Punta Cana. Other family members did do the City Tour and enjoyed it. Overall, the experience not very good, but it was not bad.
Beautiful Vacation but an Acquired taste

The resort is beautiful and staff is above average. The food is below average and the restaurants have very minimal availability.
