1st time to DR, but 2nd palladium visit(riviera maya)

The complex grounds are beautiful.
The pools are too small for the amount of people….never enough Sun loungers.
The staff are amazing and work very hard and long hours.
Lack of food for vegetarians….good luck vegans!
If you want name branded liquor you will have to pay more.
Night life was meh…..the shows are all very similar to each other…..and the music is way too loud.
Entertainment team work really hard…and again long hours.
The maid service was excellent as was the person who came daily to refill fridge.
The food was ok but Luke warm never hot.
The staff at the coffee shop are run off their feet most days…please give them more help.
They spray the resort with bug killer(bug bomb)…we saw the vehicle driving during the day a few times when we were there…not sure if that’s safe to be breathing in.
Rooms need a refresh. We stayed in a loft suite and the loft had a list of problems which we just got on with as all the rooms are very similar so we didn’t see the point in complaining and changing rooms.
Would we go again?….Yes to Dr ….but no to palladium.
Best all inclusive I've been to in DR

Travelled with my husband and another couple. There is definitely a language barrier when visiting this hotel, so unless you are fluent in Spanish expect to have some headaches. We had some small issues like shower leaking onto the floor, fridge not working properly and the safe quit working during our trip. Thankfully the safe was fixed but that was the only thing that was. My biggest reason for this low rating is our experience with the a la carte restaurants, in particular El Dorado. Two of our party members inquired about the extra cost for the lobster. We were told $6 each and confirmed verbally with the waiter the amount as we were very surprised, the lobster was ordered and once we were done with the main course the waiter came back and said he needed our room number and that the lobster was in fact $60 each. We were disappointed with this surprise but again the language barrier. We finished our desert and drinks and stood to leave when the waiter once again came over and said we had to pay for the lobster before we left. We paid with cash, and went about our evening. Days later, when checking out and our airport shuttle arriving very soon I was told I had a charge for our room. $120.00 for the lobster! We all explained what happened and were asked if we had a receipt. Needless to say we were not given one and honestly didn't even think to ask for one. I was not allowed to check out until it was paid, a note placed on the invoice stating we paid cash already and they would look into it. I have been in contact with the hotel and all they can do is say they are sorry and will look into it. I have been home for over a month now and nothing has been resolved, I honestly haven't heard another word from the resort. Hoping that a dispute with the credit card company will help get some money back. Big note to myself and others always use your credit card for charges and get receipts. I am disappointed that 2 lobster have cost $240.00 US and the customer service at the resort is not what I would expect for an issue like this.

Overall very good. Food temperature was off, but overall flavor was good. Room was average for the price. Pools are great. The beach was always clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. Buffets - average at best. Loved the golf carts to help get around as it is a very large hotel. Loved the variety of restaurants for dinner. Bartenders and servers were great.
Relaxing vacation, with a beautiful view every morning, day and night

We stayed for a week mid February. We did room service and the buffet for most evening meals. Didn't want to have a time schedule for dinner. We did the buffet for two evening meals, both times it was very very good. We never had an issue. The breakfast buffet we did once, multiple omelet stations, hardly a wait. The coffee bar does have really great pastries, we did the twice for breakfast. The best food option to us was lunch at Poseidon by the beach on the Pallace side of the resort. Really really good. This was the only place I could find shrimp on the buffet.
Our room was right on the beach, it was perfect. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I am a vodka drinker, not much of a selection, and no sour mixers at all. I would come back to this resort in the same room next year. The only thing about the room, I wish I could turn the air down lower than 69 degrees. My only complaint about the room. Went to the spa twice, nice facility. Could have more room for loungers and beds, if you don't get there early, its hard to find a good seat. Never an issue with loungers on the beach, and the beach is amazing!!!! Fair price for this resort.
