Great Stay Away

We had a great time at the resort. We are a couple (27 y.o.) and it was a great atmosphere. The food was good, the drinks were great, and there was plenty to do.

Lots of Little Issues Ruined It

There’s a giant sliding door between the shower and the bedroom. It’s really creepy and it leaks into the bedroom. There were employees loitering at our building constantly and it was very uncomfortable. This is one of the softest sand beaches and it is totally ruined by the pushy vendors harassing you every 4 minutes. If you don’t speak Spanish you will be an obvious burden to everyone - bartenders, concierges, waiters and pop activity workers.

Not what we expected from a 5 star - would never return

Went on a family trip for my husbands 40th Birthday in November. At first glance the hotel looked nice. Clean and check in was easy. Although, i had requested a cot to be placed in the bedroom for my 3 year old son and it wasn't available until midnight. We were approached by a member of staff from the TravelClub - this was one of the most infuriating experiences during our stay. We were told that we could stay on the 'tour' as long as we wished and it should take approx. 30minutes. We were bounced around between at least 5 members of staff before being provided with our rep for the tour who was named Cristopher. He was young and polite but his sales pitch was way too long. I advised multiple times that we would need to speed this up as my son was getting restless and tired after an hour. Around 1hour 35minutes we asked how much the TravelClub would cost and the rep was avoiding the answer. We still dont know till this day because we ended up forcefully asking to leave the tour because my son was screaming for food. What should have taken 30minutes took 2 hours. I was extremely annoyed with the staff as they were not getting to the point. It was also embarrassing when he tried to ask other TravelClub members to speak to us about their experience when we hadn't asked for this. Very unprofessional. The whole 'tour' is a waste of time unless you are a frequent traveller. The food is terrible. Everything is cold unless it's made fresh on the stove. You can only get iced coffee in the Grand Palladium Palace lobby, the pool restaurants and bars do not serve this. It's not a 5 star hotel. Customer service was rude when we tried to raise an issue that we weren't happy with. I am pregnant and told the restaurant i cannot eat shellfish and i was dished lobster and bloody steak and they at first refused to refund us as this was an extra expense. I had to call a manager to resolve. I aksed for a small cake to be brought out to my husband on his birthday at the end of our meal and the waitress refused. NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL. The service was despicable. I would not return to this hotel or to Punta Cana in a rush. You walk along the beach and get harassed to have photoshoots or take photos with illegal birds and lizards.

Fawlty Towers hotel DON’T waste your holiday

Outdated rooms. Shower is over bathtub which is so high you need a step to get in it, we have three rooms booked and one room doesn’t even have a step making it difficult for our family to even get in the bath and they have mobility issues. if you mobility issues don’t book this hotel. Our bathtub was dirty, it leaked water was in the hallway! Hair drier was so dirty you wouldn’t want to touch it. It was quickly replaced after we complained. Electrics don’t work, plugged a lamp in and the socket went into the wall! USB chargers don’t work. They have touts who we will try and give you a welcome breakfast as if it was part of your stay but they’re selling Travel Membership and will waste half your day like they did ours. When we asked for room to be changed they kept saying we’ll fix issues or just ignored the request. Tried to offer us a smaller room to move into which had similar electrical issues. Most staff are polite and friendly but Lorayne in reception is rude! She thinks a room with a table and chair next to the bed is the same size where a table and chair wouldn’t fit next to the bed. She laughed at us saying the rooms were same size. We are still at the resort. Here’s your chance to make our stay better. Instead of us taking back inconvenience and stress let us take back happy memories which we’re here to make to celebrate my husband’s 50th. With so many issues any other hotel brand would have offered us an upgrade or given us some sort of a compensation to make our stay better. You couldn’t even give us a restaurant booking to one of your a la cart restaurants which is part of our package! DISGUSTING and DISAPPOINTING so far!

Anniversary

Me and my husband celebrated 39 years of Marriage here, this resort is beyond beautiful and the people are amazing and take if you like your a king and a queen, the last night they knocked on our door and brought the most delicious dessert, Thank you so much !!!!!
