My husband and I spent two weeks at the Catalonia. Our third trip. Pros and cons .. Pros, great food, enjoyed all restaurants. Faves were Rauxa, Tapas and Grill. Staff always friendly and smiling and courteous. Special mentions to the following. Deigo from the entertainment, very kind, always included us ( even though we are seniors). Angeles from the Grill..she is lovely with a great sense of humour. Gabriel from Tapas. Excellent service both times we went. Made us feel special. Beach is beautiful as is the water. Staff make sure there is no seaweed. Everything is very clean. Other mentions go to Sharon and Daniel in gust services. Pros. We upgraded to Romance package and room. Not worth the extra money. Our room was outdated and dark. It was comfortable but lacked special things others got in their rooms. We were supposed to have wine, chocolate and fruit upon arrival. Three days before I managed to get a small plate of regular fruit, nothing special. However room was always clean. Would we go back a fourth time? Hard to beat the Beauty but resort has changed ownership since the last time we went from Italian to Spanish. Really pushing their Exclusive membership. All in all a lovely vacation but be wise how you spend your money, don't bother with upgrades unless you get renovated rooms first. Privileged is not really worth it either. It used to be a large part of the beach, now Exclusive members share that space and is roped off. Again thank you to all those that made our vacation a little more special.
Honeymooners

We stayed at Catalonia royal Tulum for 2 weeks from 30th August 2023. We had spent a long time researching adults only hotels in the riviera Maya as this trip was for our honeymoon! Needless to say we are so happy with our choice. The hotel was everything we wanted and more. The beach was breathtaking and the hospitality was brilliant. We stayed in block 3 on the ground floor which we were relieved about not having to tackle the stairs after too may cocktails by the pool. Being on out honeymoon the hotel put a banner on our door saying happy honeymoon which was a real nice touch. The room suited our needs perfectly. Large rainfall shower. Huge US king-size bed and a large sofa too. Mini bar was well stocked with beers soft drinks and some snacks daily. The maids did an excellent job with housekeeping. I loved being on the ground floor looking into the jungle, seeing the coatis and birds. My only improvement for the room would be that it was quite dimly lit. Even with the bedside lights and 3 additional lamps on. That being said it did make for an excellent night sleep as the room was lovely and dark especially with the black out curtains. The ac worked brilliantly. The room was refreshingly cold and the large fan above the bed was a great addition. Food. The food at the CRT was honestly some of the best we have had in an AI. After weighing up the options we decided not to upgrade to the privileged status which gave you access to an addition restaurant Bloved. We found the choice in the buffet for breakfast and lunch to be ideal. Plenty of salads and fresh meat grilled to order. We used the snack bar once where I had the wings. They do have a good kick! For our evening meals we booked into whichever a la carte restaurant we fancied that night. Our firm favourites being terrace and toscana. We visited both three times during our stay. We found the service and the food to be impeccable at both places. Special shout out the the Lady who welcomes you and seats you in Terrace. Always remembered our name and room number, such a personal touch. I also wasn't to give a huge thank you to quezabelle in the buffet, wow, that woman is amazing at her job. Effecicient and so so welcoming. I also want to give a huge hello and thank you to Merli the server bringing us drinks around the pool. She's showed is so much love and her service was brilliant. Speaking to us in spanish then English so we can try to learn. That woman deserves a raise. Thanks again Merli. Sol in the pool bar makes the best banana mamma's and also remembered our drink of peach liquor and 7up! The beach and pool area is breath taking. It's worth waking up early for the sunrise. It's like nothing I have seen before. Beautiful. My wife and I also had a mayan experience in the spa. We both recommend. Easily one of the best massages we have ever had. We went out on a couple of excursions to coba and a mayan village and cenotes. We recommend tantum travel mexcio who also took care of our airport transfer. Asis is a very knowledgeable guide and with the tours being private you get a real sense of luxury but at a very very reasonable price. Thank you Catalonia royal Tulum and all of the staff for making our honeymoon perfect. We cannot wait to see you again one day. ?? PS - for any one wondering if this hotel is LGBT friendly. My wife and I were welcomed and accepted with love. This hotel is 100% fully accepting.
