Renau from Sante Restaurant

My wife and I stayed @ this resort all week and were Blessed with Renau’s excellent and amazing service all week at Sante! From his hand made Cappucino’s to making sure your every need was taken care of, his attention to detail and attentiveness was very noticeable. He is definitely a reason we will be back to Paradisus La Perla??
Great resort with young children

The resort is great for families with younger children. The pirate ship water park and the bigger waterslide park were great. Beach is nice with very soft sand and if you take a 5 minute walk down the beach to the left there’s a public beach that has shallow pools perfect for small kids. Beware of the family concierge upgrade. If you plan to get it, better to book in advance than at the resort. Price at the resort was easily tripled compared to online prices. Room was ok. You can very easily hear the people above you walking around and it’s very loud or if you have an adjoining room door it’s basically paper thin. I would stay here again in the future.
Even better than expected

Had a blast! Great hotel, tons of activities, plenty food choices, overall beating our expectations. Shout out to the bar team at the celsius pool bar; Roderi, Caye and Abisail were the perfect example of the warm hospitality we’ve experienced across the resort.

A gorgeous exotic jungle resort experience to remember with so much potential.
KCRedondo (Redondo Beach, California) on Apr 16, 2026
The resort is absolutely gorgeous and the flora and fauna was incredible. The vibe was so lush and tropical. The resort is surrounded by by jungle that goes all the way down to the beach. We loved experiencing all of the native critters like, Coatis, raccoons, iguanas and more! The water at the Reserve section beach is filled with rocks that you can’t see. I saw multiple people stumble and fall. There really should be signage warning of this however the family concierge beach water and to the right of the reserve the water was beautiful and very swim able. The food in general was very good but the adult side could definitely use an additional restaurant just for adults. What really makes this resort is the amazing staff! Our concierge, Rossana was one of the best we’ve had at our I’ve 15 plus visits to the Cancun area. In addition we were very impressed overall with the staff at the La Perla reserve including: Yael - pool/beach concierge,Alfredo - pool server, Angelo pool/beach concierge, Sante servers: Wendy, Ivan, Ariadne. This resort has so much promise but lacks consistency and needs more activities and nightlife on the adult side that are balanced for adults of all ages, not just spring break by the pool with super loud music and crazy games. The family concierge service needs more consistency. Guests should not have to ask for things they are entitled to. We filled out the survey we received after we arrived back from our vacay and was astonished that we received an actual response back from the customer experience team from Meliá thanking us for our feedback and assuring us that our issues would be addressed. Paradisus playa del Carmen is the 1st Cancun area resort to respond directly to our feedback from our stay. It shows that they really do care about their guest’s experience. There are many choices of brands/resorts in the Cancun so it’s important to stay competitive and give guests the best experience possible. Paradisus Playa del Carmen has such an amazing property unlike most we have been to but it definitely lacks consistency and it shows its age in several areas including -resort bathrooms. It is most notable in the pool areas with missing tiles and general lack of maintenance. We loved the idea of the quiet pool but it looked neglected and a bit sad with its lack of maintenance. In addition the upselling was very annoying at restaurants and bars where certain food items/liquors were an additional charge. It also wasn’t consistent -example: the rack of lamb was included at Lemon Fish while it’s an extra $55 charge at Sante which is a reserve restaurant. We paid more to be a part of the reserve on the adult side. We have never seen upselling at this level at the other resort brands we have been to. We loved the reserve but it needs more daytime and evening activities. LaPerla needs balanced activities for all ages and the pool area can be way too loud and gives off a strong party atmosphere most of the time. Laperla adult resort could definitely benefit from having another restaurant since the dining experience on the family side is definitely not at the same caliber as LaPerla and especially during peak times it can be too hectic. Paradisus del Carmen is one of the most beautiful and unique resorts we have ever been to. We are happy that management is seriously listening to guest’s feedback and are committed to making changes to make the Paradisus del Carmen experience the best it can be and seriously compete with brands like Secrets and Excellence. We originally chose Paradisus playa del Carmen for the value but would love to be able to choose it again based on consistency in all areas across the board. Almost paradise, but not quite there…
