Not worth the money, came in town for the night with gf for her birthday. Got the bed & breakfast Fairmont gold experience. With add on of meat and cheese with prosecco.
Called days earlier to let them know I would be there at 300ish and if we could check in early, check in time was 4pm. They said yes they will make sure my room was ready. Arrived at 315pm and they told me the room wasn't ready. They told us to enjoy the gold Terrance which was amazing. There was stuff to make trail mix and drinks for us to have while we sat and waited. 430 finally I had to go ask and they said yes it will be ready in a min. Just wrapping up. I couldn't believe they made us wait this long for $1k for the night. Then got to the room and there was scrape across the wall when you walk into the room. Really tacky for a expensive room. There also was a brush in the closet that had woman's hair in it. Gross. Really! Come on fairmont. The meat and cheese was supposed to be in the room and we had to call and i still don't think i got what i ordered when i made reservation. This was like an appetizer and some wine, for 185 Canadian. What a joke. It was couple 4 mini pickles, 2 olives, two salami, 2 pieces of bread,
and 4 chocolates and wine. I have been treated and had cleaner rooms for 1/8th of what this cost me. Would never stay there again. Super disappointed in the whole experience and the cost definitely walked away with a bad taste in my mouth feeling like I got ripped off.
Slightly better than a Premier Inn

Recently stayed at the Empress. High expectations, certainly not 5 star!
So disappointed, our trip of a lifetime to Victoria, upgraded room with a bathroom you couldn’t turn round in, plug in the bath that did not work, light on the mirror that did not work, drapes hanging off their hooks, no turn down service, told water available in a vending machine! Worst was the view from our de luxe bedroom of an industrial car park!
Ruined our holiday.
Covid should not now be an excuse for poor service with premium prices!
