Had to change my vacation plans one month before travelling. Original plans were for DC but everything still closed. We changed to Universal. Decided to stay at the Doubletree. Glad we did. Everything was great. Have the Hilton app so check in was a breeze. Room was ready before we arrived. We arrived too late to check on the morning shuttle to the park. Went down early next morning and Sonia was able to get us on the shuttle and was a great help to get us on the shuttle the other 3 days we were there. She was wonderful. Gave us some discounts we were able to use at restaurants we wanted. Never felt unsafe. Since no room service was available had to go down every morning for coffee. After the first morning the waiter, sorry didn't catch his name, knew exactly what I wanted and was ready with my coffee. I had ready there was no maid service so I took my own trash bags. Worked out fine. The only negative would be the hotel needs new pillows. Would stay again. Oh yea the parks were great as well. Crowds were low.

We had the most amazing time at this hotel even with the Covid 19 issues in place. Most importantly, Sonia was the greatest help at the Universal Desk in the lobby. She prepared us for our visit to the parks & gave us coupons to enjoy at City Walk. Every morning she would greet us as we passed by her desk & asked if we needed anything. Vinh at the Grille was my waiter every morning for breakfast. He also made my son & I feel at home just as Sonia did. Thank you for the super customer service!!!

Nice hotel. Really close to the Universal Studios. (15minute walk) Tired looking rooms, as are the bathrooms. However we weren’t there much! Staff were friendly. Restaurant was very expensive. We had breakfast in the onsite Starbuck and the staff were ace!!

The bartender was awesome. Younger guy. Super friendly. Front desk guy, Greg, was very friendly helpful. The pool was clean and HUGE. And the arcade room was super cool. Also, a 15 minute walk to Citywalk. Will for sure come back soon!

First things first. When they say the "entrance of Universal" what they mean is a 20 minute walk including a good jog across an 8 lane Boulevard because the sky bridge is closed. It's not a super hard walk but if I had kids with us I would have been upset. The accommodations of this hotel are nice. The lobby and common areas were really nice. Our room was comfortable and reasonably clean. We were not able to have a king room though, and the reason we were given was Corona rated. TIP: bring your own drinks or have them instacarted. The hotel gift shop is highway robbery. The restaurant/bar is high priced also. Everything in this hotel is super expensive so bring your own stuff. There is a universal shuttle available but you have to sign up the previous day by 3:45. It's well worth it when you dont have to make that 20 minute walk back. If all else fails, an uber from universal to the hotel was around 7-10 bucks. We would stay again, but definitely would have instacarted some beverages our first day.
