Great friends and so much fun activities by the pool. Jimmy is awesome and so much fun to be around. The ocean front beach was amazing. Very easy to get to and not very deep. Great food and great weather can’t ask for anything more.

Everything was perfect! They catered to our special occasion with such care. From the appetizer to dessert, all of food was well cooked and delicious. The private setting, with special service, was great for our special anniversary celebration. (Staff that provided service: Alejandro-our waiter, Frank-a very well-versed Sommelier who provided great recommendations for wine, Pedro-the restaurant’s manager, Karime our hostess all ensured we were seated immediately and tended to us throughout the meal). Thank you for making the last night of our vacation at Sandos Playacar special. Daniel, with guest services, coordinated special decor and our final wine to be waiting in our room for after dinner.

We had a relaxing vacation with family and plenty to do. Highlights include excellent food, plenty of activities for the kids, rain or shine, beautiful well kept beaches and overall excellent service. Most all-inclusives we have visited only allow 2-3 nights in a non-buffet style restaurant but this one you could eat a 4-5 course dinner every night! We definitely paid for it in the price, but nevertheless it was delicious! The "snack bars" were actually full on buffets that had a lot of healthy options and well as kid friendly food. Also, the coffee bar and crepes cafe were amazing! Juan Carlos was an activity director and kept our kids and family busy with fun activities, even in the rain. His smile and positive energy made the trip so much better! The beaches were beautiful w/ no sea weed issues. We took a taxi to the Sandos sister resort for a day because they have a bigger water park and had fun, but were glad we stayed at this one because the beach was much bigger and nicer. The negatives are as follows. The shuttle service was minimal. It was at least a 15 min wait for shuttles and sometimes it would be full w/ no room when it actually came. Because of this we just walked. We were the furthest room from the beach and it was a 10-15 min walk, which was not bad b/c we felt we needed to walk off all the extra calories we were consuming! They also charged extra costs for snorkeling gear and to use the catamarans. Overall, it was an excellent vacation with excellent service!

Nothing going on at Sandos Playacar in the pool areas. You won't find out about the beach activities readily either. Poor signage and what there is, is very complicated. We got there and were told to take a "right" to find something to eat. After walking around for over an hour, we finally found a small place to get a light lunch. The pools are beautiful, but only one pool has a volleyball net and they don't have game times there, no bingo, no races, nothing. The water park is fine, but my ten-year old grandson was hurt on it, so he never went back to it. Other resorts we've been to have had pool fun and the times were very clear and what was going to be happening. The other thing is that men can't go into restaurants without sleeves or flip flops. The only time you can wear those is in the buffet in the morning for breakfast. My husband and son-in-law were miserable as it was so humid. There are wild animals all over the place. The kids liked that, but I'm not fond of seeing odd animals running around. The "family pool" was anything but; drunk wedding guests and women with very little on their behinds; basically thong bottoms. Not the best environment at a "family" pool. Why weren't these people asked to go to the "adult" pool. Swearing, drunkenness, and people falling hard in the pool areas because it is so slippery. Not going back. Juan Carlos was the best for activities for the kids (at the beach). Maid service was good other than no washrags other than the first day.
