Cozumel Palace is not 5 star in my opinion

Just a heads up right off the hop-when you leave the airport in Cozumel to find your transportation, don't let them suck you in and lead you to the booths saying they just want to give you "information". It's a time share plea. They call it membership-same thing! Only a 10 minute ride to the Palace hotel. Staff was very friendly, accomodating and knowledgeable. Everyone spoke English! As soon as you arrive you are presented with a beautiful carnation (ladies only! of course), then a welcome drink while you wait to check in. They offered a room upgrade, as we would have been on the first floor. Cost us $135 US for the entire week to be on the 4th floor. Money well spent!! All rooms have jacuzzi tubs and are quartz floors. Very clean and an absolute abundance of towels!! No towel cards at all!! However, the disadvantage to that is that people just leave their towels on the chairs so you never really know if it's taken or not!! The 1500 resort credits are not a great value. You pay the 16% tax, so if you were to have a massage, they cap it at 300 resort credits, so you end up paying almost $100 Canadian. Carlos is the concierge to deal with! Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable! He remembers you and finds a personal connection. Very impressed! Manuela at the front desk is a gem! She took the time to show us the room we were given, and the upgraded room. She also remembered us daily and went out of her way to help us with any questions. There was great water pressure in the rooms and it appears the water is potable. A nice change! However, I didn't actually drink it from the tap. The best thing we found about this resort was that room service was included! You could call anytime (except after 3 am of course) to order food. They were extremely punctual the first day only, however. Even though we tipped, we had to call for the menus daily and they were habitually late. Unfortunately, people don't heed the warnings in the rooms to keep the sliding doors shut; so that the doors to the rooms slam shut. It's very alarming in the middle of the night! The hallways really echo also. If you have neighbours that like to chat on the way to their room, it can be disturbing, especially when you're sleeping! They market this resort as 5 star. I'm not convinced. The food wasn't that great other than the snack bar and the very fresh and very tasty shrimp and lobster at the Mexican a la carte. Presentation leaves much to be desired! Keep in mind, if you're not a diver, this resort probably is not for you! There is no beach and the reef in front of the resort isn't much to look at. They don't allow you to paddle board or kayak on your own. You must always have resort staff with you & you are only allowed to do these activities within the roped off boarder. The area is probably the size of a large skating rink so you literally go around in circles. My husband wanted to go on the paddle board on a windy day and they wouldn't allow it. They made him go on a kayak. It's very difficult to experience a day in Cozumel that's not windy fyi. Beware of the 'INVITATION' to experience the Playacar Palace. They offer to pay for your ferry rides round trip and a taxi to and from the hotel, however, you have to put out the 75 pesos for the taxi ride there, then they re-imburse you once you sit through their hour and a half (ours was 2+ hours) presentation for a 'MEMBERSHIP'. Very aggressive salespeople who don't like to take NO for an answer. You don't get your return ferry ride tickets or taxi re-imbursement if you don't sit through the entire presentation. The shopping was great! We walked downtown from the resort (and felt very safe doing so) in search of the best deals. They're there if you take the time and look for them! The only issue was when the cruise ships are there, it's crowded. All in all it was a beautiful room, but I'm not sure I'll be going back to that resort in particular. Cozumel has great beaches on the other side where all the locals go. I would probably go closer to the other side of the island. Just my opinions!!

This was our first time at an all-inclusive resort, and they did not disappoint! We feel that the service was outstanding, and the food and drinks were great! The rooms are clean and a nice size for our family of 3. I loved the hammock on the balcony and the oceanview is priceless! Rodrigo, the personal trainer in the gym, was very helpful to my husband and I and took extra time to workout and stretch with us! He is very good at what he does and made us feel comfortble. We felt like we were leaving family behind when we left. We especially enjoyed Christian, Martha (dining hostess) and David (bartender), they were always helpful and gracious.

    Just OK

We spent 5 days at Cozumel Palace. We had two rooms, 301 and 302. We could see the dolphins next door which was nice but wish there had been another staircase/elevator on that side of the building. Rooms were very clean and organized. Never used the tub. Would be nice for couples, or every for young children. Not good for families with older children because it sits in the middle of the room so no privacy. Food was average. Liked Momo the best but portions were very small and wait time for food to be brought to the table was ridiculous. Took us 2 hours to eat dinner - time we could have been outside or doing an activity. Should not have taken so long to get food. Staff is incredibly friendly. Felt very welcome!

My wife and I just finished a wonderful visit to the Cozumel Palace. Great location close to restaurants and shops. Large clean rooms with comfortable beds. Fully stocked mini bar, balcony overlooking Chrystal blue seas... a la carte restaurants were good, however buffets were hit and miss. Entertainment was modest and had some good moments. $1500 resort credit is a bonus and provides good value even with the service charges. Vacation Club sell is well worth the listen. While there may be some warts, however the smiling and friendly staff make the resort. Each member go out of their way to make each guest’s visit enjoyable

We spend 8 days there. There is no beach. Three pools with lots of kids, would be nice to limit kids to one pool. Several times they splashed in my drink. It is an older resort in need of some updates and repairs. Nice rooms, but received a chocolate each evening on my night stand and each night had a stream of small ants eating it. Notified the staff after I discovered this and nothing was done. Each additional night same thing happened. Food was ok, buffets food warm to cold, always had to have something cooked in order to be hot. Have been in many resorts over the years and this was probably my least favorite.
