We just arrived April 26, 2024. and they already ripped us off, we paid for a king ocean room and got a partial ocean view room with two double beds, had we wanted that we would have booked it. They told us too bad sorry we are full that all we have. And said you could pay to upgrade which we already are premium!! Very unimpressed!! It's our first day and they have already ruined today. So much for a wonderful vacation. We will never come here again

We could have a nice vacation at Barcelo Huatulco but incredibly loud music made our vacation in a real torture. The music comes from 2 hotels on both sides of Barcelo hotel, near the Barcelo pool, in the lobby, until 2 am from a bar which inside (!) of the hotel. We were surrounded by this horrible noise from the morning to 10 pm. And we couldn't even stay in our room during a wedding under our balcony until 11 pm. Pros: service, cleanness, food - plenty of fruit and wonderful pastries, views, game room, wi-fi alright, 10 min by taxi to La Crucesita. Cons: no place to relax from loud music, not a good place for nature lovers, while 2 restaurants don't work until supper it's overcrowded in the main restaurant, not enough chairs on the beach, poor quality entertainment. We bought 3 trips at the hotel: 1. City tour - NOT worth a penny, instead take a taxi at Barcelo entrance for $5US and walk around the centre, not much to see there. 2. Las Cascadas - 1.5 hours by bumpy road to the river in the mountains. It was a nice trip to escape the 35C heat and loud music at the hotel. Small river in the forest was pretty, homemade food was excellent. We bought some interesting stuff at the village shop. 3. Private trip to 7 bays - it was really boring, the food at Maguey bay was very expensive even comparing to La Crucesita.

Our beautiful experience at Barcelo in Hautulco will last the rest of our lives! Immaculate rooms with everything we needed or could want. Bar is well stocked. Beds comfy. Patio is cozy with full front ocean view!!! We had one BIG concern while planning this trip - my husband has a severe shellfish allergy. Who knew that he'd get better care and attention in regards to food, here in Hautulco, than he's ever had home in Canada!!!!! Totally blown away! The resorts Head Chef, Chef Saul Flores, personally prepared every dinner for my husband! The attention from Aurora the restaurant Captain, was also wonderful! All our fears were gone thanks to the Chef and many staff even in the main buffet! Victor the bartender in Premium Lounge was great! Lots of fun and fast, perfect drinks too! Overall, the Barcelo Hautulco has impressed us beyond measure. What a lovely resort! Thanks again to Chef Saul for making our vacation worry free!

This resort was recommended by my friend. Prior to this I was really eager to try to go with Barcelo. Shortly - I will not go there again(value/vacation ratio is not fair). You can find better for this price. Here are more details why : Contra 1. Ocean is not quiet there , people barely going to swim, Sometimes I was the only person who were in the ocean. I swim well and feel confident , however 2 days didn't dare to do it. 2. Resort condition is not so good, rooms are outdated , regular thing - toilet flush was changed after request, however it was not working well. 3. If you are about food - definitely this resort not about that, restricted regular bouffe choice , you won't be hungry and won't enjoy. I had 'upset stomach' for couple of days - regular thing at any resort. 4. I would not recommend to take any tours proposed there , my experience (7 beaches) was not good. 5. Adult pool is not big, Fri/Sat/Sun overcrowded(as ocean is not available) Pro People that work at Barcelo Huatulco - the best part of this resort. Game room and aguarobic are good. I liked sushi bar. Conclusion: As a tourist I come to enjoy, I am ready to accept some inconvenience, Here it was less than average, I expected more from Barcelo and was disappointed.

We were looking for a quick getaway vacation and found Huatalco on a last minute website. We were really impressed by the rich culture and food the area has to offer tourists. The Mexican Nationals made up about 90% of the tourists. We found them all extremely civil and friendly in all matters. No problems getting poolside chairs, or competing with other tourists for drinks. The Barceló staff was professionally attentive to all matters around the property. From the gardeners, to the gym attendants to the wait staff. Everyone made me feel that they enjoy their jobs and would like to please us as new customers. The team is courses were in great shape and delightfully shaded so we didn’t feel the 37’C heat. My favourite part has got to be the zumo orange juice, coffee/cappuccino machines and the diverse and extraordinary Oaxacan foods.
