Can't go wrong with this hotel and staff. The rooms are great, the amenities are great, the lobby and atmosphere is exceptional and the price could not be touched anywhere else. I will stay here every time I'm in Orlando.

We stayed at DoubleTree for 2 nights during our visit to Universal Studios. I have to say it was such a great hotel and well above my expectations. As it wasn't a Resort Hotel, and because we got it at such a good price, I expected it to just be a normal little hotel/motel and probably pretty run down, but I was so surprised when we arrived. It was amazing! The foyer smelt so clean (just what you need after a long day of travel) and it was nice and open. Our room was an average hotel type room, we didn't expect too much but it was lovely, clean and slightly bigger than expected. The amenities and service were nothing short of fantastic. The pool, games room, laundry, jacuzzi and entertainment area was just what we needed. It was walking distance (about 20 mins) to Universal Studios too. I would highly recommend, especially for those needing somewhere nice to stay before an d after their days at Universal.

My epilepsy tablets went missing from room a few days into holiday. That wasn't the main problem. The problem was the management. They were terrible. They weren't interested.Just said we cant find them and that was that.I could have had an epileptic fit at anytime. They just said that there was a medical center a few miles away and that was that.So I had to get there and back(don't drive)and pay for the medication myself. And don't even bother trying to talk to the general manager. They wont let you.The director of security told me I should have locked my tablets in the safe.Thats the advice I got.Thats great advice if iam having an epileptic fit and foaming at the mouth. They have a sign at reception that says.If you have a problem we will sort it.The biggest load of b******t I have ever read.

    Great location, very nice rooms.

Stayed here as a points redemption (27,000 point for each night). I am a silver member. I didn't get my free cookie or complimentary water that is normally included with my tier membership (I assume this is not applicable on redemption nights). This is a great hotel if visiting Universal Studios. Its a short walk (5-10 minutes) to the park entrance and by using the valet entrance you save a significant amount of time going through security. The room was very nice and spacious (I had a corner room) and had a great view of the parks. I decided that $20 was too expensive for their buffet breakfast so frequented the local Golden Coral for $9 which is only a couple of minutes walk away. The in-house Avis car hire was especially convenient as I only needed a car for one day and returned this to the airport.

One of the best Hilton Properties

Hands down that this is one of the best Hilton properties that we have stayed at. We arrived early from the airport and they still find a room to check us in right away. Customer service was great and everyone working there was professional and super “Disney-feel” nice. There are restaurants and stores part of the hotel property like a bar, a breakfast buffet restaurant, a souvenir shop, an ice cream parlor and a Starbucks, etc. We loved the bright white and green colors found everywhere in the hotel. The outside seating was wonderful for taking in the sun, North tower (newly renovated) beds were comfortable like all doubletree rooms, but the best part was the pool. We immediately went to our room to throw bags in, grabbed a bite to eat for breakfast, and went straight down to the pool to get a quick swim in before we headed to Universal. Extra Bonus: we bought tickets from a military site at discount for Universal however it was will call pick up. Well, we got super lucky because they have a desk where they sell tickets to the park and they were able to print them right there for us. This saved us a ton of time and beating the crowd by having our tickets already. They can also print express passes but we already had ours printed before the trip. It’s not a lie that this Doubletree says it is entrance to Universal because “it is the road way entrance” to the park so we saw in other posts people were mad that it wasn’t right there at the actual entrance (that’s only the Universal hotels that are right there) however we were only 15minutes walk from the park. After our swim, we ate at the TGIF that is straight across highway. We then used the crosswalk and sidewalks. If you go straight and then get on path going left following the water canal, it will put you right at Valet parking entrance with barely any line for security and right up to City Walk and Universal. Highly recommend this property and definitely would stay again especially with the options of using Hilton points as diamond members
