Horrible, Terrible, Unsanitary

????? ? (Los Angeles, California) on May 02, 2024

I am currently here writing this review. I am not a type of person who likes to give hard time to others, but here I just can’t let it go like this. We checked in on May 1 which was yesterday, family of 4 with little kids, after a long one hour wait to be checked in we finally got the keys, went to our room to find out it’s all dirty, with water, long black hair on the floor all over, full trash can, dirty towels, dirty glasses and somebody’s underwear on the bed. Went back to the reception to report it, got a different key, came to the room and there were actually other people in that room, wft right? Finally the third time was a success or so we thought, room was cleaned, if you can say so. There is dirt on the walls, the curtains and blinds look like somebody was using them for cleaning, all dirty and stained, again found somebody else’s underwear in the closet ??????? the shower and the sink was clogged, it was disgusting the water just didn’t drain at all, since it was a pretty tiring trip for us we just decided to go get something to eat and kids were waiting for that pirate ship kids pool for three months, so we went over there and that pool is actually NOT SAFE for kids, I actually saw couple of other kids got hurt on the water slide, foot at the snack bar was terrible, I didn’t know that even French fries can actually taste bad, now I know thanks to Crown Paradise. The AC working like an engine of a truck, I be never heard such a noise from air conditioner in my life. The buffet lane was insane both for dinner and for breakfast, after waiting in the line for 45 minutes we finally got in and discovered that there’s another 30 minutes line to get the omelette.. which we didn’t get at the end by the way because kids were sick of waiting so they just ate whatever was available which is deli meats and cheese and fruits and now both of them have stomach pain and throwing up. Seriously people avoid this damn place at all costs. We checked out right after that breakfast and we regret only thing, that we didn’t leave right away after seeing their rooms. And apparently the resort does not agree with our complains and is not willing to refund us the money for the remaining six days. PLEASE AVOID THIS TERRIBLE PLACE

Thoroughly enjoyable!

susansD9627ZL (North Vancouver, Canada) on Apr 29, 2024

Very nice resort. The beach is lovely. Juan Rodríguez and Daniel in the buffet were the best wait staff ever. They were friendly, attentive and provided excellent service during our 10 day stay. The room was great. Very clean. My only issue was the elevator wasn’t working. We were on the fourth floor and it was quite a trek up and down. It didn’t get fixed by the time we left. If you have mobility problems you may want to check this before your stay. Aside from that, it was a wonderful experience.

Great time, don’t know why the 1 star reviews, lots of locals

AlbertaTraveller41 (Calgary, Canada) on Apr 27, 2024

I was a little worried after reading all the horrible 1 star reviews but we had a great trip! This is definitely a family friendly resort that caters to kids. All the staff was friendly and hard working. Most workers spoke enough English that we didn’t have trouble communicating with anyone except in the kids club. The resort is about 98% locals which we were surprised about. We were hoping our kids could find a few friends to play with but no such luck. We booked the a La carte restaurants right at 9am as people recommended and had no trouble getting in. They were all great, food was excellent. We also liked the house white but you can order different wine at a charge. Our room was clean, beds were comfortable and air conditioning worked great. Only downside was the beds were doubles which made things a bit tight but just meant extra snuggling. We would recommend a room on an upper floor which was quiet for us. The resort is a little run down but they are doing improvements. It is definitely not a 5 star, more a 3.5, so perhaps the bad reviews were expecting something else. The pool water was warm and clean. The kids pool with the pirate ship was a huge hit for our 2 kids that are under 5 years old. Buffet had lots of choice and was sanitary. It could take a while for drinks at the bar but you’re in Mexico so enjoy the wait. If you are coming for a luxury vacation then you will be disappointed but if you are coming for fun in the sun with your kids, then you should have a great time. Pros - friendly staff - Very kid friendly - Clean - Warm pool!!! - Pirate ship is awesome!!! - Kids drinks - Food Cons - dated/ a little run down - Hard to communicate with women in kids club - Sometimes the music was a bit sad ?? - Have to wait a long time for a drink Tips - order doubles ?? - Bring an insulated cup - they will fill them - Ask for a quiet room or on upper floor

Great Getaway

Dreamer815734 on Apr 17, 2024

Great time, loved the location of our room, close to the beach. Great family place with the kid’s zone. The buffet food appeared hot, but much of the food was not. Had an upgrade to use the Adult only Crown Paradise down the walkway. Rooftop view of the sunset over the water was a treat. Easily took the city bus to pickleball numerous times at a great facility. Araceli, the concierge, aimed to please, and she did. Xoxo

Great for kids and families, Room for improvment

Cody F on Apr 11, 2024

Pros: Three rooms were next to each other. Room location was overlooking the water park. Food at the buffet (La Palapa) was overall excellent and the wait staff in the buffet was generally very attentive. Special thanks to Juan was wonderful. The resort has many pools available and many snack bar and bar areas to choose from. The Kids Club had daily activities for younger kids. We tried the French (Sans Souçis) restaurant and the Asian (Fujiyama). Cons: Check-in process seemed confusing and the concierge (Angeli?) was not very friendly or helpful. The room phone was not working. I reported it (via several ways and times) and it was never resolved. On our first full day, all of our personal belongings were removed from our table and chairs near the kids pool while grabbing lunch at the buffet. We were gone ~45 minutes. I confronted the concierge (where I located my belongings) with no help. I requested to speak to the general manager who arrived after what felt like a long time. The GM, Martin, was unsympathetic and made excuses. The reality is from others seated nearby who witnessed hotel staff remove my belongings is, another guest arrived that was clearly receiving preferential treatment. This resort does not have enough pool chairs and tables or beach chairs for all the guests. The pool lounge chairs all have individual signs saying they are NO RESERVATIONS. However, if you don't claim your chair, they will be gone by about 9am. The GM acknowledged this but offered no help or solutions. The resort excelled in some areas (like food quality), but suffered in many. Frequently, I found dirty plates laying around in various public areas. One morning, while walking down the stairs to breakfast, there broken plate pieces and garbage everywhere. The French restaurant (which requires reservations), was very busy and understaffed. The wait was terrible. I felt bad for the waiter who seemed to be trying hard but the service was terrible. The bar tenders were mostly ok, I tipped them frequently. The drinks were subpar. Mostly way too sweet with hardly any liquor. The micheladas were ok. In summary, great for kids, food quality was great, service and other areas have many areas where they could improve. Special thanks to the great staff members: Adrean (bell boy) Juan (La Palapa) Sara (hostess La Palapa) Andrea (hostess La Palapa) Julieta (hostess La Palapa) Isaías (Tiki Bar) Javier (Tiki Bar) Gudalupe (Kids Club) Thumbs Down: Angeli (concierge) Martin (GM)
