If you plan on booking here for anything more then the gorgeous beach view DONT. It's old, broken down and they don't move fast when things need to be fixed. We are on day 4 of standing in large lineups to get help with room issues and have been told everyday to wait for maintenance to fix our AC and bring us batteries for the TV remote and well we are still waiting.. (+30 in our room with a fan going) (remote wouldn't be a big deal but there's been lots of storms / raining so to have something during downtime would be a bonus. Our card key mechanism was dying and maintenance thought banging it every time it stopped working would be the solution... that would be great until we break it. Positive note: it's been fixed. The food is not great but not horrible . The majority of the a la carte restaurants are nothing to get excited about... the Japanese restaurant being an exception iit's delicious: The buffet has a pretty good variety. The snack bar items are not kept at proper temperature to be deemed safe in my opinion. The cleaning staff are friendly, the supervisor even tried from day one to get our concerns looked at and wasn't able to get anyone to help us. Each day she asks if they have fixed and each day we tell her No. ***don't get conned*** They will try to offer you a free spa treatment for being a first time visitor then put you in shuttle to another Barcelo hotel and try to sell their club package AKA time share. They say only 1.5 hours.. we were there 4 hours and they disappeared when time to provide the spa treatment. We brought it up with one of his coworkers and of course he's on days off The pool has lots of room, haven't really had to look for a spot. Water temp is great. They don't really advertise entertainment, so you have to go searching it out which is a bit disappointing. The beach is absolutely stunning, no boat docks to ruin it. Crystal blue and breathtaking. Overall we are making the best of situation but it would be nice to be treated with a little more respect. My family are travel agents and they wouldn't be quick to upsell this hotel.

The The food needs to be better a lot of cold food. The reso what not great for my space, the girls from activity, they were greit. Democrats, it makes me happy feel like home.

Likes: 1. Right on the beach. Can relax even until mid night. Dislikes: 1. Biggest issue is the communication. They need more English speaking people to work at the resort. 2. Room AC was not working / effective throughout. 3. Sight seeing to Catalina island was very average. Again your guide barely spoke in English. 4. Ambience was missing at the hotel room. Very old decor. Special mention: Our sincere thanks to chef Nelson for cooking us vegetarian food on a special request as our family is vegetarian. Overall: not recommended and won’t come again.

Not impressed with this resort at all. Horrible staff service and dirty outdated rooms. Needs a lot of work. Would not go back or recommend to anyone

the hotel is very beautifully situated on a beautiful beach nice and clean swimming pools Theme restaurants great service acceptable main restaurant, food quite good, but service very slow, even lazy, drinks not available, often brought too late, after breakfast or lunch, or not at all room service tragic, no clean towels or drinks in the fridge is standard Generally speaking, we were one of the few Europeans and we could feel the hotel staff, from the reception desk through the bartenders to the cleaning ladies, with a clear reluctance to help and serve, and sometimes even racism, especially in the restaurant or at the bar. Once again, the location of the hotel and the selection of themed restaurants and swimming pools are a big plus, the rest is below average
