Nice but would choose different next time.

We just recently stayed there for a week. The hotel is located across the street from the ocean but have rooms that are considered to be ocean view if you lean over the side of the deck. The rooms are fairly small but I didn't come to Hawaii to sit in a hotel room either. Our party was a little concerned when we first got there because we found hairs in the shower and toe nail clippings on the floor so we were concerned about the cleanliness of our rooms. The front desk had them re-cleaned and so we felt better about that. Due to covid the hotel had closed the bar and any place to eat inside of the hotel. they did have a little stand up beside the pool where you could get a few pastries at breakfast but that was about it. I have no complaints about the staff they were very friendly and accommodating. We had the pleasure of meeting the general manager of this hotel. he was a very nice gentleman and went out of his way to make us feel welcome and even took us across the street to tour his other hotel which in hindsight 20/20 I wish we would have stayed.. All in all it wasn't that bad and it is in the heart of the Waikiki Beach area and just a short walk from all the restaurants and shops so if the price is right I wouldn't pass it over.
Great location, needs updating.

This is a good hotel but old. The location is great. In the middle of the “happening” area of town. Waikiki beach is right across the street, very easy access. Lots of food options. Carpets need changing, rooms need to be updated. Just overall updating needed. That being said, it’s comfortable and convenient with a very helpful and friendly staff.

This is an older hotel that has had very little in the way of updating except around the lobby area. We live on island and made a reservation bc it was a good way to use up free nights when we otherwise cannot travel thanks to COVID. Well, I wouldn’t do it again. We ended up using 2 free nights and cancelling the rest of our stay bc we just couldn’t make 2 double beds in an already small and dingy room work. We actually slept at home the second night. There were so many odd things that stand out as unappealing that I’m curious how this place is so packed when we aren’t in a pandemic. The room felt dirty and the walls actually were in our room. The bathroom felt depressing and small. Our family of 4 (2 preteens included) felt like giants in the tiny beds in the tiny room.
Excellent Stay and VIEW in Honolulu! Even During Covid-19!

Based on some previous feedback, I was not expecting much from this hotel when I booked it during the Covid pandemic (early December 2020 and YES we were here partially for business reasons). I was very pleasantly surprised wen I arrived to friendly and welcoming staff, an open (and gorgeous!) pool, and a view from our room to die for (viewing the sunset from the lanai was unreal). Our room was simple, but very clean. The modern shower was great, and even though the hotel seemed very empty due to the pandemic and the bar was not open, the staff were all very willing to help us with what was needed. The lobby is open-air and the pool was beautiful. Very highly recommended and will definitely stay again when I come to Honolulu!
The Sheraton during COVID-19

My friends and I decided to book this hotel for a trip to Hawaii following the new COVID-19 guidelines that out of state travelers are allowed to avoid a 2 week quarantine with a negative COVID-19 test, and I dont think we really understood what would be different about staying at a hotel in Hawaii. The Hotel had barely any one there, like most of the other locations, the restaurant was closed, and the pool side bar as well. the only food available at the hotel was pre-prepared meals for purchase. When we first arrived the woman who was at the front desk was short and curt with us, and did not make us feel welcomed. I have a fairly high status at Marriott and thought I could get an upgrade to a hirer floor and an ocean view no problem and she said that I had to pay for It (which was not true) This was later remedied by a lovely woman named Tammy who got us to the 27th floor with a great view of the ocean, which shouldnt have been hard to start off with considering how few people were there. Overall the hotel was clean, a little dated, but in a fantastic location. The property does not have a beach front but it is very close to the ocean. They offer a place to store our surf boards and you could walk to a bunch of restaurants (bars did not open when we were there). Overall we had a cheap and nice stay, but definitely an average hotel for the Waikiki area.
