Another incredible week at Sol Palmeras

Icaro22 (Montreal, Canada) on May 01, 2024

Went to this resort again on April 6th for 1 week. 3rd time going there, and I'm starting to feel like it's my second home! Can't wait to go back. It was a perfect week at Sol Palmeras. Everything was just perfect: food was good, rooms were nice and clean, and the beach is amazing. But above all, the staff is incredible. For all the years going to Cuba I can say this hotel has the best group of people that I witnessed. Very special thanks to Jorge Luis that took care of our baseball group and made it all possible. Also, thanks to Alex for his implication and good vibes with the group. There are so many people that I can't wait to see, but also a special thanks to Wilber, Noel, Osiris, Nivia and Alain at the main bar for all the time and attention. Yes it's about the beach, the sun and the nive weather. But it's also a lot about all the really good people we've met there.

Mi Segunda Casa

scandles (Edmonton, Canada) on Apr 29, 2024

Love our second home! Fast check in by Alicia. All staff are warm and welcoming! All provided us with very efficient service! 58th visit and feel part of the Sol Palmeras family! Noticed the upgraded changes with wifi. Saw the wifi router in our bedroom bungalow. For me wifi was hit and miss. Perhaps because I was using an IPhone vs an Android. This is Cuba and they are experiencing food shortages. This week there was no shrimp or vodka. Not a big deal for us. Always plenty to eat at the buffet or a la cartes. Really enjoyed the Manager’s repeat client dinner. Gracias Jefe Antonio and Jefe Eduardo. Dayana and Osiris in guest satisfaction were very attentive to our needs. Always a pleasure to talk to. Many thanks to Wilber for his prompt communication about room availability. Beach is one of the finest. They used to take the seaweed or plough the beach daily. Did not happen during our week and did not impact our beach time. Lots of entertainment. My fav was Armando the singer! Incredible voice. Sax player was outstanding as well! Would highly recommend the Sol Palmeras. There are many repeat clients!

For the period of travel the resort was great. Not too busy and for the most part the staff were great.

Our Experience - Sol Palmeras

Wanderer171728 on Apr 27, 2024

We stayed in a standard room, hotel is quite busy for April travel. Busier than we expected. We were ground level, which put us close to everything. Can be quite nosy in the evening but quiets down around 10pm depending on what show is happening. Got use to it, but was expecting a less busy resort. Buffet food options were amazing, not all a la cart restaurants were opened. only 3 were running. Staff very friendly. Room was not newly renovated but did not smell musty. no bugs! Beach was close enough but disappointed that the beach is not cleaned daily. We had rough waters the last 3 days -April 24, 25 and waves were at a "yellow flag" seaweed not cleaned which was very disappointing as this is the main reason we go to Cuba for the beach. They can do better. Internal cleaniness of hotel is good.

What a great vacation

kimj714 (Hampton, Canada) on Apr 26, 2024

Excellent resort, great service, friendly and helpful staff. We didn’t experience any difficulty with food shortages and the food was plentiful and tasty. There were salad stations, cold pasta or rice salads, oven baked pizza, pasta bar, fish station, meat station (chicken, steak & pork), desserts/ice cream, and then all your side dishes. The house white and red wines were pretty good and or course the cerveza’s were great. The beach was amazing (not rocky at all) with plenty of loungers and Tiki Huts. The pool area was nice and the entertainment crew kept everyone having a great time whether you participated or were just watching. There’s also a basketball/volleyball court as well as a table tennis to play. Although we brought our own towels with us I can confirm there was never a lack of towels at the towel exchange. The piano bar had really great entertainment and there’s a disco downstairs that opens at 11:00 pm (noise was never an issue). We stuck our heads in the first night and it looked like it would be a great place to enjoy a late night drink and dance. I would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back.
