We really enjoyed our stay here, everything was perfect, and exceeded our expectations. Defiantly want to explore other dreams resorts now.

I will never go back

While Costa Rica has beautiful scenery, teeming with wildlife and can be a paradise getaway, Dreams Las Maraes was like Dante’s Inferno of Hell. Firstly 2 out of the 5 restaurants were closed. Secondly, ALL the alcoholic drinks are watered down beyond belief (I’m not a big drinker). Thirdly, the food is all mid-tier. I’m from New York City and I didn’t go to Costa Rica to eat Italian food and chicken nuggets. I need the authentic Costa Rican food. Lastly, and most importantly, My wife and I felt like we were in “Get Out” the movie, the city of Ba Sing Se from “Avatar Last Airbender”, “The Matrix” or the “Twilight Zone”. I say this because everything felt fake and contrived. Even the names of our bell boys and service workers felt like a North Korean simulation. They were all named Tonny (yes 2 n’s) or Maria and I think that was done to confuse complaints. Not only did the welcome party, bell boys and managers feel like a Matrix simulation but they were anti-black as well. I wasn’t allowed in a mid-tier Italian restaurant because I had shorts on (in a tropical resort), but when they were trying to sell me a vacation package, I was allowed VIP into the same restaurant with less clothing on. Also, I felt many racist tactics. Firstly, the staff always mentioned to another staff that I speak Spanish. Why did they have to notify others that the Big Black guy can decipher what they are saying behind my back. Also, the resort sent us the ONLY black staff member ,Kalin, when trying to upsell our resort package. The staff always knew to ask for my credit card, confirm my room number and verify my dress code but could never clean my VIP swim out honeymoon suite pool or make sure I got the free champagne and romantic dinner. They weren’t looking out for our enjoyment at all. When they said Pura Vida, it felt fake. My suggestion: Stay Away from Dreams Las Mareas. GO TO NANDEL’s BEACH RESORT. U will have the time of your life!

What an amazing hotel, above standard of the usual all-inclusive hotel. Staff were brilliant, restaurant food was fabulous and grounds were beautiful. Amazing view from balcony

Beautiful view and amazing customer service

The staff were amazing and the view and hotel was breathtaking!!!! The staff were soooo friendly and helpful. I was able to text our rep with any questions i may have. The housekeepers came like clock work and did an amazing job. Weird mention but me and my sister were amazed that they have almost everything you need as far a toothbrush, toothpaste, razor and large size shampoo/conditioner bottles lol.

Beautiful resort in friendly Costa Rica!

We spent five enjoyable days at Dreams. Our room was in building 8B which was the perfect middle spot between the pools, beach and main building for restaurants. Room was spacious and had everything we needed. The grounds are stunning with unique vegetation along with monkeys, lizards and even a raccoon running around. This is definitely a pool vs beach resort as none of the rooms really have an ocean view as it is far away from buildings. Pools are abundant and span the entire resort. You do a lot of walking and it is hilly so be aware of that. They do have golf carts to help with transportation if needed. We enjoyed the food at the Sushi restaurant and a new somewhat hidden French restaurant behind the disco. Don’t miss it if you go as it isn’t on the Hyatt app. The only downside to this resort is that the location is very far from airport and excursions. We knew this going into the trip, but when you’ve traveled all day and then have a 90 minute drive which is bumpy and curvy and are tired, it made for a long day. We love Dreams as it is a great middle blend between families and couples with a fun atmosphere. Pure Vida!
