We enjoyed our time at this resort. every meal we had was very excellent and for the most part varied and taste and options. The atmosphere of the resort was a very relaxed and did not have a party atmosphere. The beach in front of the resort was not crowded and had a great space. All of the facility was very close to the beach. There were lots of pools throughout the entire resort the most of the pools were on the cold side. You had to get to the pool early in order to reserve chairs. There was always more than enough chairs at the beach.

This is our 3rd time at this resort and it's just great. We love the rooms, very large and the room amenities are top-notch. The staff in all the restaurants are friendly and accommodating to all your personal needs. The pool staff is friendly and helpful if you need an umbrella or extra towels. The bar staff at the pool is great also. Carlos, a bellboy was helpful with the luggage. He always is in a good mood and a great representative for the hotel. Highly recommended, we'll be back.

We visited Dec 30 to Jan 7 and enjoyed every day of our stay. From breakfast with a view of the beach to volleyball on the beach and aqua gym in the nice infinity pool. What makes this place special are the fantastic people who work there, especially the restaurant staff and Carlos, Mercy and Jonathan from the activity team! Great entertainment in the evening as well, especially the Elvis show! He’s a great performer and the dancers made sure everyone was dancing by the end of the show. Would recommend the Royal hideaway to adults of all ages, doesn’t matter if you’re 18 or 80, there is something for everyone.

We spent January 16-21st at Royal Hideaway. There were 4 in our party and we all had different highlights from our trip. We like vacationing at high end places so we are pretty picky in our desires, after all, paying high dollar, you should be very picky. Here are the Pros: 1. Beautiful Beach 2. Close to the city to ride bikes or walk, felt very safe at all times outside of the resort. Do the bike tour they offer. 3. Restaurant dinners are great, especially the French/Mediterranean one. We made our reservations 1 week out, so we had no problems. If you have to eat late, go to the grill restaurant/buffet that stays open till 5:30 and enjoy........you are on vacation....don't stress about it. 4. Rooms are very nice, room service is 1st class, beds are comfy. 5. Staff and servers are very friendly and hard working. They are always moving and doing. 6. Pop up lunches by the pool were delicious and creative. 7. We left after the noon check out and they allowed us to shower at the SPA which was perfect and allowed a few more hours at the resort CONS: 1. Pools and "warm" tubs not very clean. The main pool was cloudy and the only "warm" tub was slimy on the walls and uninviting. 2. The grounds lack an eye for detail. Management should walk through the property and note all the minor things that need attention. That is the difference in 4 star and 5 star. Was it nice, yes, was it "wow".....no. 3. Drinks were hit or miss in flavor. I never knew it was so hard to get a pina colada sweet and yummy.........but it was a real struggle for them. Only 1 bar for the beach and pools. 4. This is a very quiet resort, not much music, and nothing happening after 10pm. I would say average age is 55+. If you are under 40, this place is NOT for you. Would we return, probably not, because we experienced better at Valentin Imperial in the Riveria Maya. Once you have experienced a better resort, it's hard to be happy with a resort that doesn't have 5 star details.

My (now) fiance and I stayed for 5 days over New Years Eve. We loved almost every aspect of our entire stay. The few parts that could improve: -Our villa butler (concierge) was not overly helpful and scheduled several dinners for wrong nights (the appropriate date but in 2019 not 2020) so when arriving at the restaurants, no reservations were there. -This was made up for by restaurant staff being extremely understanding and still allowing us to eat at the times we had planned -The room had a musty/moldy smell -The shower was quite small Overall, these did not significantly impact our stay and we would definitely return. Some of the best parts were the incredibly friendly and helpful staff and the food quality at all restaurants!
