I love this hotel. The food, beach and animation are on the top. The hotel is with picturesque view. Dominican people are very warm, happy and friendly. I want to note that the restaurant animation Salami 911 is the best. The most interesting activity for me was learning of Spanish. I will come back again!

Day1 : Arrival Check in was very throughout everything explained. Lobster Dinner reservation for the next day. Juan took his time to explain everything and answered all of our questions without hesitation. The resort has two lobbies the main lobby and the platinum lobby. The platinum lobby is more quiet. In comparison to the main lobby there is a lot going on there. ( Maybe because it was Easter Weekend and a lot of nationals were there as well) The buffet restaurant food at the platinum is nothing special but will do great on arrival day. Not too far from the platinum rooms & easy to locate. Day2: The Platinum Beach Bar & Grill only serves lunch until 3:30PM Freddy (Freddie) older guy will tell you in a very rude tone and body language??. Freddys behavior towards me was rude & very unprofessional. In other words he messed up my whole mood for the day.... Besides that, you can pool hop thanks to the transportation trains. As of right now the clientele is to 80% Dominican. Some employees have told me that it is because of the Easter holidays. But they will be leaving Monday. I also observed at another pool that a security guy got into an argument/ dispute with a Dominican guest because he was playing his music & was disturbing other guest around and several guest have complained. In the Main Pool #14 Parts of the pool is filled with straws, cups, and everything that people leave behind. But since there are so many pool options + an ocean who cares. So come the evening Lobster dinner was amazing Roberto and his staff turn my frown upside down the lobster was of good quality and very delicious. You also have the CHOICE (the staff doesn’t try to upsale the wine) just tells you what wine would accompanied your meal best. If you take it or not is your Choice & it is at an extra charge is not too costly they have a variety you can choose from. I had the Sauvignon Blanc it was good. Roberto and his staff changed my mood with the amazing dinner & professionalism. So except if the encounter with grumpy Freddy was our day good. Day3: headed to breakfast at the platinum club house the restaurant was closed and we were advised to go to the PBG not far either, walking distance 3 mins. Arrived there & who is working the breakfast shift with his Staff Roberto. So happy and Great Start of the day. The view is amazing they have an inside sitting area and outside as well beach front the view is just breathtaking. The restaurant itself is A la Carte. But the staff will assist you and help you so that your wishes are met. During breakfast I started doing dinner reservations for the different restaurants 10 a la carte restaurants & 4 Buffet restaurants. One wasn’t able to book so I asked for assistance & they helped me. They went the extra mile and called reservations for me all while I’m sitting at the breakfast table enjoying my breakfast with a front row view of the ocean. They told me that if it doesn’t work out with the reservation I’m more than welcome to dine at PBG or the Hacienda. I feel very comfortable here and Roberto’s staff is very helpful. So after breakfast we headed to see the Peacocks, ducks, flamingos, lguana, & Parrots. The gardeners are there every morning cleaning the area and feeding the animals is very taken care of and maintained they also very friendly. I’ve an 8 year old with me, that’s why the garden trips every day after breakfast. The pool at the PBG is very clean the chairs are often sanitized as I’ve observed and clean towels are laid on them by Brujam. Very quiet and calm. The two staff members the work the bar are also very friendly and helpful Rafael & a lady I sadly didn’t remember her name. Went to lunch they have a variety to choose from as I love lobster I had the lobster for lunch with a mixed salad mouth watering. I saw grumpy Freddy come and go during the day. I think today he had a better day he even helped open the Umbrella and tried small talk. I don’t know if he treated me differently because he understood that I’m not Dominican but if that is the case is very sad.... that is discrimination. Everyone should be treated equally. Then I saw him walk by again some time later and he was back told his old behavior. I don’t know if his bi polar or just his age. But I just don’t take him seriously anymore. Dinner was at the Tanuki. The 2 ladies that work the entrance are very nice and helpful. Once inside they prepare/cook in front of you. Nothing special for me is the same show as in the other resorts. The food was ok. Waiter and cook are friendly. During Corona they tuned it down from a 10 Seater to a 6 Seater. IMO they should’ve tuned it down from 10 seater table to 5 seater table grill. Day 3 Breakfast at my favorite place PBG with Roberto and his staff. They asked me if it worked out with the reservation and tried to reach me the day before but couldn’t get a hold of me since I wasn’t in the room. But the reason why I wasn’t able to book the reservation was because the booking software wasn’t working properly and that’s why there was no need for reservation. As seating was set to first come first serve. Breakfast was delicious as always the pineapple juice was fresh & thirst quenching. Sadly the weather took a turn for the worst and it’s pouring down with no end insight. Went onto the webpage and looked for activities the resort offers. They offer Spanish lessons, Salsa lessons, Yoga, Stretching, Handcraft, Painting classes quiet a few since is pouring down. We certainly didn’t want to spend the day in the room. Also space is limited due to Corona for those activities and Guidelines are strictly followed. Around 2:30pm it stopped pouring and we headed to the PBG pool for an hr. Nice as always. Dinner reservations for tonight were at the Pescador (Seafood Restaurant). The shrimp cocktail was delicious but overseeable a lot of pineapple and not so much shrimp....same for the garlic shrimp. We one adult & one child put in 6 orders of the garlic shrimp. I wanted to order the Alaskan king crab at a extra charge but if the portion of the appetizer was overseeable I would’ve been really disappointed if I spent $50 for a small portion of crab legs. I took my bottle of wine & my child with me.... with plans of going to the buffet. (The staff at the Pescador was friendly as well. ) Upon arrival the buffet was closed. But Juan was working the reception and informed me that all the buffets were closed due to not many customers being at the resort. He made a call to the PBG grill & said it was ok to head over there. Thank you Juan. Well dinner was really good & Roberto and his staff were as always very friendly and helpful. Chivito is funny as well. Day 4 Breakfast at the PBG it was good as always with Roberto & his staff. I wish I knew all of their names but they work at PBG in the mornings & Soho at Night. After breakfast went to exchange money at the main lobby the course was fair -100DOP for the exchange but very accurate from € to pesos Zacharie helped me with the transaction. After that went to watch the animals again. Once I arrived in my room housekeeping was cleaning it up. They come during the day and clean the room & at night I guess while everybody is out for dinner they come in and exchange towels. As of right now nothing from my personal belongings has gone missing as I read on reviews on here the housekeeping ladies are very nice and polite as well. While she was in there cleaning we jump on the little shuttle that goes through the resort and went back to see the animals again. After that we went to our room and headed to the beach.... a lot of sun beds and towels are laid out on them as well. The beach is beautiful and clean. Not a lot of vendors or ladies who want to braid hair. Dinner was at the Samsara the food was delicious a lot of choices & portions were enough as well. Oneida and her Staff are very nice friendly and attentive. Day 5 Breakfast at the PBG delicious & always hits the spot Roberto and his staff. Always polite, courteous, attentive and friendly. The food trucks by the beach are also good. With a healthy one and a fast food one. Dinner at Wasabi was really good tasted good tasted like actual sushi and the options were good. Oneida works the Samsara and also works at the Wasabi with her staff she is very professional, polite and attentive one of her staff I recognized him from another restaurant Antoine he is friendly and professional as well. After dinner we headed to the ice cream truck to get some ice cream. Then we headed to the room and went to bed. In comparison to when we first got here there ain’t a lot of guest at the resort from 2000 ppl down to around maybe 500 people my guess is a huge difference. I would say there are more employees at the resort than guest. But I’m glad they can work during this hard time. From what I’ve heard the only employees working at the time are employees that have work here at the resort for 15+years. Also every time I come into the room the bed is made and clean towels are in the bathroom but I never see housekeeping feels like the housekeeping person lives in the room as well and knows when we come and go. Excellent service. Day 6 Breakfast at the PBG. What a surprise Oneida and her staff is working the Breakfast shift. Her presence is so calming and welcoming. Sadly Roberto and his staff are not here but they will probably be working the dinner shift. Haven’t seen Freddy in days so happy old grumpy. After breakfast we headed to the main lobby to get some information about the Corona test. The Antigen test costs $35 and the PCR varies from $95 - $110 since PCR testing is done by different doctors. You can take the PCR at the premises either at the doctors office or in your room. The samples are then taken to Santo Domingo to be evaluated and the results will be available in 24hrs. Valuable info: The airport also offers Antigen testing specially for traveling for $45 at Terminal A & B. No appointment is needed. 15-30 min results & no line the ladies working there are nice as well. They can also be contacted via Whatsapp. At lunch there was a total different staff I’ve never seen before Elena & Yadayra were really nice. Lobster lunch as always deliciously. Pool time Brujam always makes sure all the sun beds by the pool are Sanitized as well as clean fresh towels are provided and laid out on the beds. & Rafael keeps the cold ones coming. Day 7 Before I forget it the Animation team was great also with limited activities due to Corona guidelines but they were also split into two groups. Some were working at the Water Park Family Club making sure none of the kids fall or get hurt. Made me feel at ease to have someone on sight. & some by the beach. Malagueta, Fido, and solibel. Also the Park has its own Bar & Restaurant that caters to the kids with outside seating. We skipped breakfast since it was our last day. Went to lunch Lobster ?? is all inclusive with the platinum package during the day at night at extra charge. After lunch we headed to our room rechecked that we packed everything and didn’t leave anything behind. Call the bell boys for pick and checked out. Zacharie helped with the check out and exchange very friendly and professional. And also let’s not forget Keila from the PBG she also very nice and friendly. She gifted my child a peacock feather. Thank you again Keila. I wanna say a BIG THANK YOU to the staff, management, and also the gardeners who always made visiting the animals pleasant. We truly had a great time. I will definitely recommend this resort. I’ll definitely be back during the Summer. My Child will be back in two weeks with her grandparents.

So I booked this trip because on the website it mentioned it had tons of restaurants, casino and a nightclub all which I wanted my 18 year old daughter to experience since where we live isn’t allowed until the age of 21. Upon arrival everything went smoothly. I met up with my best friend and his 2 brothers, 1 who lives in the US and the other 2 live on the Island but came to visit Grand Bavaro Princess for the first time. Later on that night we found out that the nightclub was closed due to Covid. We all decided to go to the casino that night. Upon arrival it was just a small room with a couple machines and 1 live roulette table. The rest of the casino was blocked off by a barricade. Throughout the week we tried making reservations to different restaurants which most of them were closed because it wasn’t “busy enough.” The food was average. You would think when you go visit these islands that they have more of their cuisine. When we decided to relax by the beach it’s nearly impossible because every few minutes you get someone trying to push some kind of sale on you. I must say that I did purchase some items (bracelets, souvenirs) and throughout the entire transaction security was hanging around so you feel very safe. However when you buy something from one guy you get bombarded with street vendors trying to sell you other things. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE listen to me when I tell you to stay clear from Royal Holiday!!!! Throughout the first couple days we kept getting approached by them every five minutes as you are walking around, they are everywhere!!! First of all they all get paid by commission and they all have a specific job to do. So we got approach by a guy named Jose who portrayed himself as a member of the hotels guest services. He asked us how was everything so far in which I replied could be a little bit better. Then he went on saying that they were giving away some free massages to anyone who was willing to sit and listen to a presentation for either 60 minutes or 90 minutes over breakfast. He went on asking me if I was there alone in which I replied that I wasn't and mentioned my friends. In which he replied that he will be taking me to the presentation and a supervisor will ask me the same thing but not to mention my friends because these massages are only for people who are visiting and not accompanied by locals. He also asked my age and told me to lie and say I was 40 years old because again the promotion is only for a certain age bracket. He said any of these two questions that I answered truthfully will avoid his commission. So I felt bad and I said OK don’t worry. Now we meet with a lady named Olfa. She is the one that does the sales pitch. We went ahead and got drove back to the buffet area where we sat down and had breakfast. She started making conversation about her personal life and befriending me by sharing similar life experiences. After breakfast we drove back to the building were she would go over what it is they offer. During this time they completely cut all Wi-Fi access in that building, it is a DEAD ZONE! You can’t go on the Internet to see what the reviews are on this company. Meanwhile there was music and they were trying to win my daughter over by playing all the music she likes. They offer you top-of-the-line alcohol while you are there. Olfa then brought in her supervisor named Andres. Who knows how to talk a sweet talk but makes you feel dumb when you start asking questions because you’re not fully understanding. Now I understand why they didn’t want my friends to participate. They didn’t want anyone to influence in my decision making. 90 minutes turned into 4 hours and a transaction of almost $3600!!!!!! But it doesn’t end there because the contract that I signed is for over $11,000. And this was all done under the influence of alcohol. That night when I realize what I had done, I went ahead and Googled the company only to see my nightmare!!!! The company has nothing but complaints and bad reviews from people who also have gotten scammed by these people. I don’t understand why a hotel would allow a third party company to come in and scam their customers. The hotel itself had great reviews but this company will drag this hotel down if they don’t put a stop to it. For this very reason I will not be visiting Grand Bavaro Princess again!!!! I went there to have memorable experiences with my daughter and friends and left feeling taken advantage, deception and just a horrible experience. Please save your money, enjoy your time at the resort. Don’t waste your time or money, not worth it.

We had a great visit here, even as the pandemic is beginning to subside. Restaurants were very good and masking and social distancing were honored. Jeffrey, Benis, Salami, Luis, and Soliber gave us excellent service and entertainment while we stayed at the resort. This was our 5th time here and we’ll be back again.

This is an awesome resort. All the staff is wonderful especially Michael Jordan from Animation Princess. Nice to have people concerned with how we feel and making sure we are enjoying our stay. This is our 2nd time here at Grand Bavaro Princess all suites.
