Honolulu was great, the hotel was not

You'd probably be much better staying at one of the hotels in the area. The location is great, but the hotel is not going to make for a relaxing stay. It's in a pretty bad state of disrepair.

A great stay, great customer service

I stayed here for my first trip to Hawaii. Such great customer service. Cliff at the front desk was so helpful, and got me checked in and situated quickly and efficiently. I loved my room, it was freshly cleaned, and the kitchen was a big bonus. I was close to everything, literally within walking distance to the beach, and some amazing restaurants. I was able to decompress, and relax when my busy day was over. I felt safe, my room was clean, and Everyone was so nice. I would definitely stay here again.

Terrible rooms, dirty, disgusting, expensive, stinky, run down and bad staff

This place is in serious need of a big clean up and sorting out. Staff were rude and not helpful at all. The room we booked and paid nearly 500.00 AS$ for was disgusting and very very run down. Broken chairs, dirty disgusting couch and cushions, dirty sheets, dirty cutlery and crockery, chipped and broken bench tops and tiles, dirty quilts on the beds, the carpets were stained and sticky and worn and the best of all - the curtains had holes and terrible stains all over them and someone had painted over the holes to try and make it look better. The whole room was stinky and dirty. When we went down to complain and ask for another room we were told - some of the owners of the apartments have not made upgrades !!! surely cleaning staff would know they were that bad. We were given another room and swapped over but I am sure that room is still being booked out. Do not stay in room 2211. The hotel is very run down and maintenance is not up to date. Elevator buttons broken, tiles broken in entrance an in the elevator, staff uniforms tired, some of the staff did not have name badges, had wet hair and just not well presented, car park is always full and hard to get in and out of, maintenance is going on in the carpark entrance and the rubbish is piling up and smelling terrible. No one is keeping on top of things at all. All the couches and benches in the lobby are dirty and stained, floors are dirty and stained - this place is really really bad which is a pity as it is close to everything and has good views. For the price they are charging someone needs to have a good look a the place and stop ripping tourists off. Even after paying nearly $500.00 AUS$ per night we were then charged another 31.00 per night for coffee, newspaper, and amenities which had to be paid on check in. We were not aware of this and the front desk lady Jasmin could not show me where this was listed on our booking form. She took the "so sad, too bad" attitude. We also had to pay a $300.00 bond which was taken out of a credit card on check in as well so another $451.00 to stay there. It has taken 5 days to receive out bond back. Normally that is held just in case.
