Amazing staff, breakfast and most of all, I love how the hotel is near the beach. Thank you Hyatt for making my vacation amazing!

Great hotel in Waikiki

Thomas K (Greenville, North Carolina) on Apr 28, 2024

We are happy that we chose the Hyatt Place. We stayed for 9 nights. It is an excellent location. The beach is a short walk from the hotel. The main street for Waikiki, that has a lot of restaurants and shopping, is also a short walk from the hotel. The heart of Waikiki is about a 15 minute walk. There is a ABC store that is a very short walk. There are food trucks beside the hotel. The zoo is a short walk. There is a parking deck across the street that is open to the public that is cheaper than the valet offered by the hotel. Every hotel staff member we encountered was nice and a pleasure to interact with, especially the housekeeper. We stayed in the diamond head tower as we had a room with the diamond head view. The room met our needs but was on the small side. We had a king bed that slept great. The balcony was also small. We stayed on the 14th floor but was able to hear some street noises. We were only in the room for sleeping and showering so the room met our needs as it was clean and had a comfortable bed. There was a mini refrigerator in the room. There is a microwave in the lobby if needed. There were multiple water stations that were very useful. You receive two reusable water bottles at check in. Breakfast is included and was great. It is on the 3rd floor and is partially outside. There are rotating options along with a small miso soup and kimchi area. The negative is that there are a lot of birds and they will get on the table if they have the opportunity. The elevators can be slow at certain times but not to terrible. Overall we are happy with the hotel and would stay here again.

Convenient location with clean room.

natemail123 on Apr 27, 2024

Uncomfortable area for breakfast with birds constantly around, attacking your food at any moment and flying around the buffet food is not good health safety standard. Also not having self parking is highly inconvenient! Would have been a nice option & the main reason for not recommending this hotel. Our room was clean and spacious but could do with a small table & chairs. Housekeeping was quick to respond & was nice & courteous. Filter water at lobby was convenient to have & environmentally friendly.

Fantastic hotel!

Sheri T (Edmonton, Canada) on Apr 25, 2024

Great location 1/2 block from the beach. All tour buses and local buses do a pickup/drop off at the end of the block. Great service! Fast check in. The room was nicer and larger than expected and the beds are so comfy!! The cleaning lady was so nice, we really liked her.

Did not meet expectations

We booked this hotel because it was cheap and included breakfast. The breakfast was pretty decent which had a miso station which surprised me. The location is decent, only a short walk to the beach, but on the walk over there was a homeless next to ABC store and smells AWFUL. We were circling around to avoid him. There is only valet parking and you cannot call ahead to have them bring the vehicle. So expect 5-10mins each morning waiting for your car. But all the valet boys and bell boys were very nice and helpful. Some people who stay at the hotel park at the public parking garage across the road, you can save a lot of money but it’s only for sedans and maybe compact SUVs. So for the bad, first their rooms are extremely loud. Our room was on the 18th floor and the patio door does shut completely so we were getting a lot of road noise. Cars reving in the middle of the night and rooster crowing in the morning. During our stay, there was a 2 hr blackout. We felt the hotel staff were very disorganized and didn’t know how to handle the situation. We were left sitting in the lobby soggy and in our swimsuits while we waited for the power to come back. After an hour we couldn’t wait any longer to shower so we walked up 18floors with a 3&5 year old. But we got to our room only to find there was no water, but hotel staff only told us there was no hot water. Also hotel staff did not give us flashlights for the staircase, they gave us glow sticks which did not give off any useful light so it was very dangerous to walk up the pitch black stairs.
