I stayed here 10 days early 2019 before the pandemic. There's a $30 hotel fee, resort fee, parking fee, or whatever. The term may change but it's unnecessary and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. What is inexcusable is that the hotel booking, front desk kept on check in and check out will try to tack on an additional $20 bucks per day for parking, or hotel fee, or some other BS excuse. I had to argue to get out of the additional $20 but they will initially lie to you claim that parking isn't included and you have to pay an addition $20 per day on top of the $30 per day. I had to go back to Expedia and point out that the initial $30 fee included parking. I had to go through this 3 times during my stay: when confirming reservation over the phone, checking in with front desk, and checking out. They actually charged my card for the extra $20 on checkout and I had to go back and go through it again with them for them to process a refund with my credit card. I paid $4-500 a night.

This hotel is definitely more updated and newer than the Mauna Kea next door. We enjoyed the pool and the beach so much! We also enjoyed the pool restaurant, Naupaka Beach Grill, which was reasonably priced and tasty. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

We spent 6 days at the Westin Hapuna Beach and was very pleased that we chose to stay at this resort. We had read that construction was an issue and we were worried. But in the end we didn’t hear it very often and we were staying in the south wing very close to it. The staff at the resort were all great. Assistant Manager Jenna had emailed us ahead of our visit and told us about the construction and asked if we had any special request. I just mentioned that we would be celebrating our anniversary and asked where we should dine. She had great recommendations and even had champagne and chocolates delivered to our room after we arrived. This resort has everything you need for a great relaxing vacation. The pool and beach are fantastic and have great views from all locations. The restaurant Meridia is top notch. We absolutely loved dining here and our server Elizabeth was fantastic. A great vacation and wonderful experience. Thank you to the entire staff.

    Review of wheelchair accessible room

I am a paraplegic and use a wheelchair. This is a review for the wheelchair accessible room at The Westin Hapuna Beach. I had a 2 queen bed room with partial ocean view. The room was large and the balcony was accessible with a lounger you could transfer to fro your chair. The bathroom had a roll in shower with pull down bench and hand held shower head. All the controls were easy to use from the bench. The toilet had grab bars and was at a good height. The only wheelchair accessible complaint would be the trip down to the pool and beach. The hotel sits on slight hill and to access the beach and pool it’s a crazy long ramp that took me about 20 mins to use myself without any help. Overall it’s ptetty wheelchair friendly.

    Fabulous property!

We spent the last two days of a five week Hawaiian vacation at this beautiful hotel and it was a great way to end our trip. As a Titanium member with Marriott, I used my Suite nights and we had a lovely suite on the 9th floor with spectacular views. Although we were aware of the construction on the property, it never bothered us at all. The hotel is a bit remote, but it offers a shuttle service to the Mauna Kea hotel, so you can experience the restaurants there. The hotel provides lounges and beach umbrellas as part of the resort fee and we spent one entire day relaxing and listening to the waves. The entire staff at this hotel was so welcoming, they really embodied the Aloha Spirit. I really want to recognize Gena, at the front desk, for going the extra mile for us ...she is a gem!
