I booked this stay to celebrate an special occasion. Before my stay, I contacted the hotel through the Marriot Bonvoy app to see if I was possible to make a reservation for dinner before hand (since the are operating with limited seating due to Covid I didn't want to risk it). They said that normally reservations are done upon checking but given that it was an special ocassion they were going to make an exception. Not only that, during that dinner, knowning that we were celebrating, the staff at Bamboo restaurant had gestures towards us (without us asking) that simply made the experience perfect. The place is beautiful, located in one of the best beaches in Costa Rica (that of couse is subjective). But the key here is the service. We have never seen such a uniform great level of service. Every single person on the staff made un stay perfect at every step, from check-in to check-out. We will be glad to go back. The food is great quality, far from the average all inclusive resort. Thank you!

It is not clear to me if due to the COVID 19 pandemic, but we found that the hotel is overrated, what we received for the price left much to be desired. We had high expectations of the place, but there were always problems. We stayed 3 days in two rooms and in one of them the minibar only had two drinks and the other room was full. There were problems with restaurant reservations, one of the sales agents arranged to make the reservations, but when we got to the restaurant there were no reservations and they sent us out of the restaurant on a terrace other than the restaurant, neither the variety of food nor the Quality were the best, there were many things that the restaurants had but were not on the menu (Ex Salmon), also if we asked for another dish it was not very well received. One of the bathrooms had brown water, the imperial bar did not have it open due to the pandemic, although they offered it to me before booking, and in other hotels they keep them open. The last day for the all-inclusive they had made us reservations for lunch, but when we called to confirm since we had problems with the reservations, they told us that we had to cancel it at reception, although the day before they had told us that it was within the all-inclusive and There was no problem, so we had to leave without having lunch with two small children. From the beginning there were small problems that greatly ruined our experience, it is a hotel that I would not recommend and we found it overrated for what it receives. I think there are better all-inclusive hotels in Costa Rica and at a better price.

We visited this resort during the Nov 2020 covid era. They were very respectful of all the regulations, cleaning protocols and mask wearing requirements. We stayed for 3 weeks and found the poolside umbrellas/lounge chairs and restaurants were well set up for proper social distancing in all venues. The outdoor spaces were very clean and the grounds were well maintained. The wait staff and poolside staff are very attentive and friendly. The food choices were varied and walking to the different food venues was very pleasant and when it was raining they have lots of extended golf cart vehicles to get you there without getting wet. We ordered our lunch to our poolside loungers every day, that was heaven. We appreciated the separation of adult quiet pool areas and family areas which were much more active and noisy. Our room was well cleaned and we had a choice of how often we wanted the linens changed. The beach is wonderful and you can walk along the pathways in the shaded areas in the trees or along the shortline. We did the short walk to the north end of the beach and into the very small community of Brasilito for a change of scenery. It was an easy walk. Lots of bird life and animal life around the property. We could hear the howler monkeys but we never actually saw them. We did speak people who did see them near the family pool area. Loved trying all the different poolside drinks made by the friendly and attentive pool bar staff. They were proficient in English and they were happy to help us with our spanish. Loved the meandering pool and 'beach style' entry points at several places around the edge. Spa services were reasonably priced. Didn't try the golf but the course looked very well maintained. We did one, resort booked, off the property tour to see the nesting sea turtles after dark. Again, very good at social distancing and masks wearing while giving an amazing and informative tour. Overall this was a very relaxing vacation and a good way to socially distance and get fresh air and exercise in a safe manner.

Do not stay at this hotel. It’s been nonstop problems each of the three days I was there. I had reserved 7 nights, but left after 3. No huge problems, just lots of small things that ruin the experience. The Keys didn’t work on check in. Getting the high-speed internet access took three calls and almost an hour. I spent 30 minutes making a reservation for breakfast and then was turned away. I called costumer service to get the Westin Gear lending service. They sent me to reception and collect it where I was told they weren’t offering that service. I had to wait 30 minutes for the lights at the tennis court to be turned on. We played two nights and saw the same dirty garbage can that was full of water and trash, which is a huge health issue in a region where mosquito borne diseases like dengue are common. I asked for the minibar to be restocked, which for some reason they only do if I’m in the room. After an hour wasted of my holiday, I left because they never showed up. So far I’ve had 4 a la Cart meals and two of the dishes we ordered were completely different than what’s stated in the menu. The AC is so loud it wakes you up at night. When I went to Yovan Vargas, the only manager on site, his way of fixing this was to give me and my wife (not my two teenagers) access to breakfast at Faisanela. When I asked for options because I didn’t want to stay at the hotel. His solution was to move me to the W and charge me an additional $200 per night. It was insulting. I had to leave
