    Such a relaxing time after a stressful period of isolation. The staff are attentive and sweet. What a privilege to enjoy the best of Costa Rica. Go see Erik to find the best, most personal excursions. He’s on the beach just outside Westin Reserva Conchal.

    Very underwhelming, and hoping it gets better

    Checked in today and so far experience leaves a lot to desire for more. 1. Checkin was very unwelcoming, like a TSA pat-down. No welcome drink, cold towels etc after a long journey to the hotel. 2. Despite every room type being available at the hotel, i don't believe any effort was made to rightfully upgrade based on status 3. In room dining qr code for menus doesn't work 4. No menus in room to order things 5. Express service or any other buttons on phone dont work 6. Rooms have poor lighting 7. iHome has ipod connector that apple discontinued maybe 7-8 years ago. Why is this even in the room? Throw it out! 8. No usb chargers 9. Toilet door doesn't lock 10. Pool bar closes at 6pm. Why so early? 11. You need pool cards to borrow towels, but the station closes at 6, and they dont return your cards. Why need it in the first place? Will your guest carry the heavy towels back with them on the flights and pay $35 check in fees. Positives: 1. Pools are nice 2. Gold carts are easy to get 3. Room service was easy when we finally got through 4. Fast wifi

    The Westin Reserva Conchal was the perfect getaway for our family after being cooped up during Covid. We were a bit reluctant to leave the US until a co-worker told us about how easy it was to get in/out of Costa Rica traveling from the US. The Westin staff exceeded our hospitality expectations immediately after booking our room. They reached out directly to us to help set up transportation to/from the airport, get us set up with dinner reservations, and helped with the process of requesting Covid testing (US re-entry requirement) right at the resort. Any questions we had were answered via email literally within minutes! The accommodations were perfect for our family including two teenage boys. The food was better than any of the previous all-inclusive resorts we've stayed at in the past. The Italian restaurant was our favorite! If there is one negative, it would be the pool bar staff. We weren't really impressed with the drinks. There were no drink lists, suggestions, or daily specials. They pretty much stuck to Pina coladas, daiquiris, margaritas, and beer. As for excursions, there is no need to book anything in advance. There are plenty of companies offering excursions online or the hotel has a desk to set them up as well. Our suggestion...skip those and head straight to the beach and talk to Erik G. Erik is the resident expert and will set you and your family up with the adventure you're looking for. He doesn't ask for any money up front. He'll work around your schedule. His guides (we used Bryan twice) are punctual, courteous, knowledgeable, provide clean/safe transportation and made the entire experience better than we ever could have expected. Bryan took us on a boat ride in a crocodile infested river where we were greeted by white-faced monkeys! On another excursion, we went horseback riding, tubing, zip-lining, hiked to a waterfall, and relaxed in natural hot springs...all in one day! We cannot say enough great things about our overall experience!

    So this hotel is beautiful the Beach one of the most amazing and calm beaches in costa rica, services really disappointing, call to book a reservation for the restaurants never answer thank god the manager too over, breakfast I ask for orange juice and mimosas came 5 min before we leave so this is about 30 min after, we just went to lunch after 30 min they forgot our order they just give us half of what we order in caracolo restaurant,don't get me wrong beautiful place we golf this morning was amazing but services very poor????? I don't think I will go back here

    We booked our vacation (airfare, five nights at the Westin and two at The Springs near the Arenal Volcano) through Delta Vacations as we had excellent customer service with cancelled trips due to COVID in 2020. We weren't sure if the Westin would honor our Titanium Elite status, but they exceeded our expectations. They assisted us with booking dinner reservations prior to our arrival. Our room was upgraded to building three, next to the Westin Family section of the pool and near the beach. We also received premium alcohol. Even without the upgrade, staff at the resort were very welcoming. My only frustrations were likely Covid related. Daily housekeeping is suspended unless requested, and we often had to call multiple times for towels. With the humidity (and need to dry swimsuits), it was nearly impossible to reuse towels. A retractable closeline in the bathroom would have been helpful. Aside from that, they follow Marriott/US COVID standards. We weren't able to get our COVID tests at the Westin due to timing issues as we spent our last two nights in La Fortuna. However, it was easy to get tested at the airport (Echandi), and results were available within an hour. We thought the food was very good. Our kids enjoyed trying new foods, especially at Bamboo and Manglar. The breakfast "buffet" was very efficient and offered a number of local and American options. The coffee of the day was always a special treat. My boys' only complaint was the lack of a place to get ice cream or other afternoon snacks. Very little was available between 4 and 6. My husband golfed twice (18 with our 14 year old and 9 with our 13 year old). There is a discount after 1. My boys both rented clubs and were satisfied with the rentals. Playa Conchal is a public beach. Because it was Holy Week, it was pretty busy. Others have mentioned snorkeling, but it was too windy when we were there to see anything. The ocean was too rough to kayak while we were there, but we did a jet ski tour through Eric Garcia. It was two hours long and went to secluded beaches along the coast. We started with both parents driving, but the boys were able to drive in smoother water. The pool is very nice. We never had difficulty finding chairs, but we did put towels with distinct clips on them on our way to breakfast. Despite that, there are individuals who will knowingly take reserved chairs. The towel system is a little weird, but it works. We turned our dirty towels in every afternoon and exchanged them for clean ones to use the next day.
