TripAdvisor Traveler Rating

We arrived today from 3 long flights 2 hours behind schedule. Check in took 35 minutes, only room service available until 6PM. Our room has water damage and the air conditioner is not working. It will not cool lower than 80 degrees. The mini fridge in our room also does not work. We were hesitant about coming back after last years debacle in the Honeymoon suite... There was no manager to speak to until tomorrow at 10:00 AM. No desk chair, outlet in wall coming off and has wires exposed. AGAIN, air conditioner will not cool room below 80 degrees!!! Looking to book a new place tomorrow.

The hotel is in the gated area of Playacar. A nice size hotel with villa blocks just two stories high & standing in beautifully maintained gardens with lots of quiet areas. Impressive entrance & reception area, very clean & well presented. There is a Concierge for each villa. Two main swimming pools, very clean & well maintained. A good amount of sun beds, which were often reserved early in the day, despite the signs asking you not to! Aqua gym every day & a few other pool games & day-time activities. Five restaurants each with an a la carte menu & serving delicious food with excellent service. Buffet breakfast could be improved, some food was overcooked & the omelette station wasn’t open every day, but still a reasonable choice. Evening entertainment was limited, but we weren’t really bothered about that. Mostly US guests. Lovely to see agouti, iguanas & a variety of birds around the hotel grounds.

When we arrived, we initially were charged $150 each way for a private shuttle and when we arrived, we also had to pay upfront on a different credit card because the original traveler was not able to make it. They have not refunded us the original method of payment, which I am still working on trying to get from them so we were overcharged, the food is not that great. We had to go into town on order to get a decent meal. They have a few restaurants at the location, but unfortunately, none of them were up to standard. There are a lot of reviews on how good the food was and unfortunately, they are wrong the alcohol , there was not present. I maybe had five drinks at breakfast and did not feel one ounce of liquor probably would not stay here again unless I aged 65 years or older it is not a place for young couples and would not recommend a young couple to stay here.

Everything that other people wrote is exactly true! No need to write anything the poor stars are true, no need for the return comment from the place!!!! Please put some money into this place!!!…………. ………………. ……………. ………………………………,…………………..

The place was great if you want to just relax! The crowd was older and was a little boring, but we made it worth the trip
