Shuttle is slow and sometimes very crowded (I was told to get off so air crew could get on, at midnight trying to board the shuttle at the airport). But rooms and hotel are very nice, staff all friendly and the decor comfortable.

My family and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency LAX for a night prior to leaving the area. As you can imagine, this hotel has a constant stream of guests checking in and departing. The staff, including the valet parking colleagues, are efficient and knowledgeable. Valet parking is a bit expensive but self-parking is available in a massive adjacent lot. The $21.95 price is worth it. The lot is well-lit, very busy and safe. We actually used the valet to check in and take our bags to the room. That cost us $10 but it made things a little easier. The room is clean and in good shape, especially taking into account how busy the hotel is. The most remarkable aspect of the hotel is how quiet the rooms are! We noticed very little plane noise. We will have the opportunity to fly into LAX for a similar trip in a few months and have already made our reservation to stay here.

I was experiencing Difficulties with the Maid not making up my Guestroom, and being a Globalist, at Reception, I requested to speak to the General Manager. Instead, one of his Supervisors "Sebastian" was sent. You could tell Sebastian was NEW and UNFAMILIAR. I explained that the Maids were NOT cleaning my Guestroom. He apologies and lots of "Blah Blah" and would CREDIT my World of Hyatt account with some Points. I explained I was Not looking for points, but for Service. He looked CLUELESS, when I said that !! More NEEDLESS Blah Blah from Sebastian. Also, when I checked in I requested "Evening Turn down service". This NEVER happened on any of the evenings. A maid did visit my Guestroom and clean it after my chat with Sebastian . The NEXT 2 days...NO maid service -or- Turndown service !! And...you guessed it...NO Points credited by Sebastian into my World of Hyatt account. It would have been NICE if the General Manger had Extended me the COURTESY of speaking with him...its: "of mice and men". He couldn't be BOTHERED. He is a "mouse" in lieu of: a man. Also, at this property, they are the ONLY Hyatt that I know of that does NOT subscribe to the LOCAL Newspaper, this case being: The Los Angeles Times". What's with THIS. This Hotel DOESNOT Support its HOMETOWN Newspaper ?! ?! ?! Nearby, the Sheraton Gateway LAX...they have at Concierge Desk and in Club Lounge...daily. WHY Not Hyatt Regency LAX ?! ?! ?! ?! I guess its: "the mice and men" theory again ?? Additionally, MORE Service Failures...2 different colleagues attempted to reach me via the Hotel Operator...5 calls with-in 40 minutes to Hotel Operator...about 3pm...NO ONE EVER PICKED UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We picked the new Hyatt LAX as we needed a place convenient to LAX on a recent trip to see the US Women's National Soccer team at the Rose Bowl. The hotel is new and the closest to LAX Terminal 1 - 5-10 min walkable but also has frequent shuttles which could actually take longer depending on traffic in LAX and around Century boulevard. As a Hyatt Passport member, I found a good rate online. I checked in online so check in was fast and efficient. We were given a room on the top floor 12 - very clean, sound proof windows and comfortable beds. Bathroom was also clean, with shower only and hairdryer provided. There were USB chargers and a modern flat screen TV .There is a coffee maker with Starbucks coffee too. We had a good night sleep the first night without any air or road noise interfering with black out shades too The well- equipped Gym above us and had a fantastic views of LAX- plenty of treadmills, bikes, weight machines, and medicine balls for a good workout.- refreshing Aquafina water and fresh towels too. Unfortunately, the second night , there was a late party in the ballrooms above us which had thumping music even at midnight even though the party was supposed to stop .- we called the front desk a couple times and initially were told they had no rooms for us in exchange. They finally were able to relocate us to a quieter room as we had an early AM flight from LAX. We were pleasantly surprised to see on checkout they did not charge us for the 2nd night. - a nice gesture for a night without much sleep. I would definitely stay at the Hyatt LAX again for its convenience to LAX and its new, modern facilities.

Missed our connection so decided to stay here for the night - arrived at around 10pm and departed art 5am - comfortable beds, with triple glazing so don't hear any noise from traffic. Bathroom was small but adequate. Bus service to airport was regular even first thing in the morning. Checkin staff were very efficient.
