Dated and in desperate need of an Upgrade

I have just spent 2 nights at Westin Union Square and I will NOT be returning. The property is very dated and in desperate need of a facelift. The room I was given had a very unpleasant smell that hit you as soon as you entered the room. It was frankly quite unnerving. I was told that they were full and unable to offer me a different room. The bathroom looks and feels like something out of the 80s and combined with the very unpleasant smell, it made for a terrible stay. I couldnt wait to check out!! Housekeeping staff, whilst nice and polite, did a very sparse job of cleaning the room. The fitness centre is in a windowless room and again, equipment was old and dated.

I love this hotel. It's amazing. The rooms are perfect, bright and just what you need. even had a chandelier! Though my view was of another portion of the hotel, my spot was quiet and just what I needed. The hotel history is also pretty fascinating. I hear the 12th floor is haunted, and I was hoping for the 12th floor.. but I go the 7th. Kudos to them for being more than accommodating for my cat that I had with me. Both of us felt very welcomed.

Lately I’ve been choosing to stay in the Westin properties since I get a better sleep there. Unfortunately this hotel has the most loud pipes ever. I was abruptly awaken when another person started their morning shower at their room. Also the light of the hall gets inside the room through the door reveals. It is a beautiful hotel, the rooms are charming and it has a lot of character. However, the sleep quality is very poor. Also, no water in the room and you have to grab them at front desk. I don’t see myself returning to this property .

    Cupán caife

Ostán álainn ar tháinig cuid de slán ón gcrith talún a bhuail an chathair sa bhliain naoi déag is a sé. Tá an seanchlog fós ina sheasamh i dtosach an óstáin. Ní foláir sparán teann agus pócaí nach bhfuil folamh chun dul isteach anseo gan trácht ar oíche a chaiteamh ann. Bhí an cupán caife féin sách daor ach bhí na suíocháin an-chompordach agus is deas an áit í le do scíth a ligint agus tú sa chathair álainn seo.

This is a beautiful hotel. Everything was top notch. Service was perfect, decor was a nice mix of historical and chic. The lobby has a very lovely fragrance. I loved the photos and memorabilia from the hotel’s history on display. My room was a little on the small size by today’s standards, but I have no problem accepting that as part of the charm of staying in a historic hotel. I did see other rooms that were much larger, and the “tower” section was built more recently. I didn’t use the gym, so can’t rate it. I just love this place. Icing on the cake was hearing the bells of the cable cars from my room.
