    Beautiful private Beach

The beach was just gorgeous, with big waves to play in. Everyone was very polite and helpful. Room was clean and very spacious. Loved the big balcony with the hammock. All rooms have a great ocean view. Only bad thing I can say was it was a little loud in the morning on our floor. We were in the 19th floor right above the lobby so we heard a lot of chatter, and there was a family with young children who kept allowing them to scream down the halls every morning at 730 am. Not fun to wake up to that, but out of the hotels control. The food in the hotel was hit and miss. The snack bar on the beach was always great! We were there for a wedding and that all came together beautifully, food there was amazing.

I began visiting Las Brisas in 2012 arriving after Thanksgiving and departing around the 15th of December as I have again this year, 2019 – the hotel was opened so long ago that some folks have been coming here annually for the past 10, 20, and in one case, 30 years – talk about “…where everybody knows your name ….” Some of the “tenured” staff have relayed that from early mid-summer to mid-December the occupancy rate declines as summer ends and school begins – mid-December however, begins the “Holiday Season” in Mexico when schools are out and people travel to the beach – then followed by spring break and eventually the end of the school term - therefore, my departure around December 15 ……… Rather than attempt a travel dialogue of all the pluses of Las Brisas – suffice it to say that: The guest rooms have a balcony facing west providing guests with in-room glorious sunsets – Separate swimming pools for children - adults ONLY - a “family” pool - and the requisite infinity pool – make up the “pool” area - Then of course the quarter-mile-long-only-accessible-to-hotel-guest sandy beach with the mandatory palapas, sun chairs, towel desk, bathroom, onsite bar and servers – And the seasonal/frequent release of baby turtles in the late afternoon - check with the Life Guard for releases – And, let us not forget the four onsite top-of-the-line restaurants and the “Hora Feliz” lounge where Happy Hour starts as the sun begins its descent and ends after sun has set to ensure everyone has the opportunity to see the sunset ………… BUT - Just for the record – this Hotel IS recommended ……….. PLUSES – see above MINUS – Las Brisas is located one mile from the downtown core, but taxis are available onsite. To experience the local flavor you can take a taxi down town (recommended) for about 70 pesos one way – or walk down the hill to the main road and take the local minibus to town – you may want to consider a taxi ………..

The hotel is older but seems to be well cared for. Views from rooms are amazing. All rooms have ocean views. The hotel grounds are mature and truly beautiful. The private beach is very nice. The staff are very good and are willing to do anything. They don't look for tips, in fact you have to catch them before they turn around and leave if you want to give them something. Drink and food service at your chair at the beach and pool if you don't feel like getting up. Wow! There are many stairs but there are elevators and ramps that will get you most everywhere. A little bit of a communication problem at times but I should learn some Spanish. Complete lack of entertainment. Would have been nice to have some musicians and singers in the lobby bar in the evenings. The biggest drawback is the buffet, small, no variety, luke warm if not just cold and not really great tasting. Sure you can order off the menu but it's also limited and if you don't have an hour you want to spend you are stuck with the buffet. Other reviewers that say you could always find something to eat are wrong to say it's okay just suck it up and fill your plate. If you were in a restaurant at home you would complain, so let management know through your reviews. The specialty restaurants on the other were great. All said and done great place to relax but I don't think we would come back.

Making repairs next to my room

The hotel has a nice private beach and overall is great. However management is terrible and I would not stay here again. During my stay, management decided to start repairing the ceiling of the hall next to my room. I complained about the noise and they said they were going to stop repairs... They didn't and refused to offer a satisfactory solution. If you are looking for a place to rest and relax, this is definitively not the right one.

Hotel was just ok, certainly not 3-5 star, but the New Years party that we bought tickets for exceeded our expectations. The staff at the party was fantastic, the band was good, fire works display spot on.
