We were a group of 12 ladies and stayed Thursday through Monday. The resort is fairly new and the decor is soothing and beautiful. Some of us had the ocean view room and some had the swim up room. All the rooms were beautiful. The shower and toilet were separate which is nice when you are sharing. The shower was large and features a handheld and a wonderful rain shower head. The fridge was stocked with water, soda and beers. Snacks such as chips and chocolate were also provided. They have a nespresso type coffee maker and there was cream in the fridge along with a sweetner selection. The grounds feature 3 pool areas. The main pool is where the action is but not too crazy. They have excersize areas and a swim up bar. Above that pool is a beautiful infiinity pool. There are 2 snack bars nearby where you can order delicious fish or shrimp tacos, burgers, pizza and other snacks. There is also a hidden out of the way quiet pool, also with a swim up bar. Two of the pools also have hot tubs. The beach is stunning. Beautiful powdery sand and turquoise warm water. Just be careful where you enter as there are some coral rocks near the shore. For breakfast we found that the 2087 restaurant closest to the beach was the best. A huge buffet with anything you could possibly want. We had dinners at all of the restaurants. All with outstanding service and food. All of the bars are nice but the one near the lobby is the best. The bartenders are excellent and they have live music there on some evenings. We spent some time on the club which has a great dj. We were having too much fun to do any of the excursions but they all looked great. We did do the mixology class where we all learned about Mezcal and Tequila- very informative! My spa experience was great as well. They have a hydrotherapy program you can do with a guide or alone. Steam, sauna, cold shower, hot tub, cold plunge, heated lounge chairs and even cold cucumber slices for your eyes! Our assigned concierge was in touch with us all the time without being intrusive. The rest of the staff for the most part was extremely attentive. I had only two complaints about the whole trip. The first is that we were on the 2nd floor with almost no view of the ocean. If you book, ask to be on a higher floor. Also our room was a bit stale smelling. They do have an aromotherapy diffuser which helps with the odor.

    1 GREAT WEEK

We had a great week at Unico resort. we booked a ocean view room which was great--privacy, beautiful view in a modern, comfortable room. Balcony on all rooms have a large bathtub with jacuzzi jets. All rooms have a free mini bar and snack basket. Check in is easy, as you sit on a couch as a representative comes to you. Our rep Fernanda made check in a breeze. They assign you a contact agent to arrange all excursions, dinner reservations, etc. While we did not utilize ours very much (Mario) he was very helpful on some small issues. All restaurants were great! Mexican restaurant Cueva Sieta was outstanding--especially waiters Fernando and Mickey. Poolside fish tacos were the best I've ever had. Poolside manager Marco was extremely helpful and a great representative for Unico! The gym was good, and the many classes offered were also great (Monse,Valente). The only negative issue all week was when we were contacted by Renee for our "Welcome Basket" - assorted printed brochures. Beware! This is just an excuse to sign you up for a timeshare/vacation club sales meeting. They try and entice you with a free excursion or overpriced spa treatment. Also a 'free lunch' (all meals are free at Unico) After 10 minutes of saying "No Thanks", my wife said we would stop by meeting tomorrow- but warned that we would probably leave early. The next day my wife went to meeting to tell Renee that we would not attend--he followed my wife out the door arguing that we had to attend the meeting, and by not attending we "were going to get him in trouble". I was going to let this issue go, but on our last night on vacation while at the lobby bar, Renee again approached us complaining about our missed meeting . After 5 minutes he finally left us alone. To Unico and 'The Leading Hotels of the World Vacation Club'---Is this how you treat people who book a room at $520 a night for six nights? I've experienced less pressure at a car dealership.

We stayed Thursday through Monday at this resort with my sister's wedding on that Saturday. The resort service was over the top excellent! The availability of activities and excursions were amazing, and at times overwhelming with how much was available. The spa was incredible, a must experience! The wedding planner did an excellent job accommodating the bridal party and organizing all of my sister's needs. The app was incredibly helpful to keep in the know with the resort map, activities, workout classes, and room service. Definitely one of the best experiences in Mexico thus far! Only complaint would be that the beach set up was just ok. The beach was easy to access but all that is available is towels, lawn chairs and umbrellas. Now, you never complain at the beach, but comparing it to past resorts that had swings, balconies, hammocks, palm tree set ups, etc. it was a bit disappointing. As well, the kayaks, SUP boards, and other ocean toys were a bit of a walk down the beach and not easily accessed. Again, not a huge complaint but for the price per person I would expect better on the beach.

    Wonderful location, amazing hotel.

Great hotel with an outstanding service. Rooms are spacious and modern, bed is luxurious and comfortable. The only down side is that the beach is very small and the beach chairs are pretty uncomfortable.

Unico 20 87 was above all expectations. We loved the different food options. Our local host, Elizabeth was super and always willing to help. All the staff was so friendly. We have already booked for next year!
