Clear markings on pathways to indicate slight inclines and declines, to help prevent tripping or falling.

I loved this resort! The following are just suggestions for the future. I would like to see more chairs in the lobby bar area so that guests can sit and have a drink following their dinner meal. We found there is nothing to do after 9PM. At other resorts we have been to, we looked forward to enjoying a drink in the lobby's bar area before going back up to our room for the night. After much trouble finding loungers around the infinity and family pool, due to "reserved towels" placed on so many unused loungers, we noticed that Marco would remove these towels if the owners did not return after a certain period of time. Usually it happened if a guest advised him that the chairs were unused for well over an hour. I personally thanked Marco after I witnessed a guest telling him they cannot find loungers, and Marco simply removed the items off the loungers and brought them to the towel hut. We could not enjoy the ala carte restaurants because in order to make a reservation, one had to stand in line at 8AM, wait till the reservation desk opened at 9AM, then wait until it was our turn, we are seniors, finding standing over an hour simply too uncomfortable. There should be a different system that does not require such a large amount of time out of a guest's holiday to enjoy the ala carte restaurants. One of our group actually fell, after tripping on unseen steps in the infinity pool, and also on a few unseen inclines/declines on the paved walkways. I would so much have liked to see bright markings or coloured strips on these very low inclines, especially considering there are many seniors with balance issues at this resort, me being one of them. The steps in the pool are painted dark blue, but not the entire step, leaving 2 inches of the regular paint colour at the edges of the steps, both my sister and I fell on these steps the first time we entered the pool. We loved this resort! We had a perfect room, gorgeous view, double beds, 4524. A beautiful resort, with wonderful and caring staff, I would love to visit again. Ramone was so very nice to my sister (a senior) who had suffered a nasty fall, due to not looking where she was walking. She required a Dr visit, and prescribed medication to reduce the hematomas from her accident. Ramone helped her when she fell, made her feel comfortable, and then each day asked how she was doing. Staff even phoned a few times asking about the healing process, it was very nice and appreciated. Thank you, Ramone, and staff, who took care of my sister until I could come down to get her.
Very disappointing to say the least

Definitely not what we expected. Approached by time share people right after check-in. I got food poisoning after eating my first meal and spent the next day in bed. There was mold in our shower that was not properly treated before painting and so it returned. The rooms could definitely do with some repairs and updating. Numerous other issues but there is not room to mention. The food was mediocre at best except for the a la carte, which was quite good. The only saving grace was the staff. They were very friendly and eager to please. We definitely would not return to this resort or recommend it to anyone.
BOOK IT!

FANTASTIC stay! Feb 26 2024- March 6 2024. We have stayed at several Brand resorts over the years and this was our first stay at a Krystal Resort. We both would recommend a stay at this resort, and if the price point next time we need some sun, We will return. Honesty both myself and husband were worried after booking because some of the reviews made me question if I had made a mistake in booking. This was not a necessary concern. It was our 28th wedding anniversary and we stayed in an Altitude Club Junior swim out King Bed suite room and felt so spoiled I have no idea if I can ever stay at anything less now. It is large and beautiful; the option of having a swim, nap and privacy on your patio was SO exceptional. We did use the other pools on the resort as well, but if you figured out when the sun and shade hit your private pool you had more control of how much you were in the sun or shade as well as having an opportunity for a bit more privacy. The regular pools are also closed at 8pm and we had an evening dip which would not have been an option if we did not have this room. The Altitude wristband enabled us to book in advance for any of the restaurants days ahead. It also gave an earlier option to use the Sky bar which had a beautiful view and loungers and a rooftop pool. We did never see anyone use the rooftop pool but you have a great view of the sun set. I saw other reviews saying the seats on roof top were always full, however we never saw this issue. There always seemed seats. The private concierge room with snacks and help yourself drinks was great! It was our go to coffee and Mimosa every morning prior to breakfast. I am a celiac and I had concerns whether I would struggle finding options at meals. This was not an issue and I had no problem finding lots of options. We ate at the Asian, Mexican and the Grill they were all delicious. We heard other people saying the Italian was good but quite often we make GF Italian at home and found so many great options at the buffet we did not try the Italian. There are allergy alert labels on menus in the restaurant and the staff were always VERY good at ensuring my choices were safe for me. The buffet also had labels for allergens on them – some of the labels I did find confusing – however all you need to do is ask a supervisor or a Captain and they will kindly help you figure it out. I was again worried ordering room service because I was not sure what Gluten Free accommodations would be available. We overheard other people say how great the room service was so we ordered it for lunch one day. Again we were very pleasantly surprised; lots of options and the staff again went above and beyond! They called us back to offer several GF desserts, my husband did not really understand until they brought our lunch and they had sent a plate of 3 GF dessert options. THANK YOU. Take a Bite coffee shop was a nice option for light snacks and options of Coffees; Chai, Lates’ and specialty hot and cold drinks. The sunsets at night are spectacular – at night a couple hours before sunset we would head to the adult pool and relax, have some beverages and enjoy a spectacular natural show in the sky. This also was a great time to go to the pool because all the people who had been at the pool have gone for naps or had too much sun so there was more chairs available. Now the topic of the typical towel game at all inclusive; Thank you!! We were SO impressed! GREAT job Krystal Grand on having a couple staff members paying attention to the seats that were occupied by no one for an unrealistic amount of time. Thank you for removing the towels, clips and ‘chair saving items’ so as to offer them to people actually at the pool! This was not consistent the 8 days we stayed but we witnessed it on a couple of the days that seemed busier. I know it is uncomfortable for staff members to do so and they were being professional and respectful at the task but thank you Marco and the other entertainment team member who cleaned up the towel occupied empty chairs! GOOD JOB! I wish this would a practice embraced by ALL all inclusive resorts. All staff are hard working and try their best to make your stay memorable. I know it is ‘All inclusive” but a small tip in gratitude and a thank you goes a long way. The staff are helpful and friendly they sincerely try their best. There was ALWAYS someone cleaning, cleaning, and cleaning. I actually would like to see more garbage can availability because it would enable people the option to drop their garbage quickly and responsibly – instead of leaving it for staff. The housekeeping team do a great job cleaning the rooms, they are thorough. The friendly energetic entertainment team work long hours to offer fun activities and evening shows catering to all ages. There was always options of something to keep you busy and the team encouraged everyone without being pushy. Special thanks to Efrin at the bar- his genuine smile and wave made our day! He catered to making us a frozen drink with Absolute raspberry Vodka, OJ, cranberry, and soda mix. It was fabulous and I need to recreate it at home. He saw my husband waiting to order a drink and my husband recognized that Efrin came back from his break to make my husband his special drink. This is the small touches that make the difference! Thank you Efrin. Marcos at the Buffet – his smile and genuine enthusiasm and care to help; another Fantastic employee! Marcos ability and energy to cater to so many tables and keep up to the fast pace and STILL make a connection with the diners wowed me. You could see the pride he took in his work and the hand shake he gave us to say good bye because he was off the day we were leaving warmed our hearts. That is an employee to keep those who have a real drive to make a genuine connection and give great service. I am sure I am missing something but If you are debating - just book it. I know how hard it is to please everyone – so yes there is some negative reviews – but Kudos to this resorts staff – you made our stay memorable. Ignore the negative reviews- or put little merit on them. The one thing they could improve on? More chairs in the lobby so that when people are waiting on pick up they have a spot to sit.
Wonderful Stay!!

We stayed at the Krystal Grand for 6 days, and had an amazing experience! BEACH: The beach was fantastic, and you could walk for miles at low tide. The water was a bit rough, but if you enjoy the waves, you'll have a blast! Warm water, and soft sand with few rocks POOLS: Pools were beautiful, though we didn't use them much because we prefer the beach. They would get quite busy in the afternoon, and seating could be difficult to find. BUFFET: The buffet was excellent! We didn't dine at any if the restaurants, and stuck with the buffet. I found that there was loads of variety, and I enjoyed everything that I tried. The food was hot, fresh, and plentiful. SERVICE: The staff were absolutely top-notch! We were very impressed with the professionalism eagerness to please. Every staff member we encountered was polite and hospitable. Alejandro was an incredible server. He clearly loves his job, and it shows! He took the time to remember our names, and made us a lovely good-bye dessert. He truly made us feel like we were special. Thank you so much, Alejandro! The bartenders were wonderful, and very talented. So pleased! ROOM: Our room was large, with a great view of the resort and the ocean. It was cleaned and restocked every morning. The only thing I'd mention is that, unfortunately,it did smell moldy. But hey, you're in a high humidity area, so it's pretty difficult to avoid. Beds were decently comfortable, and the AC worked. CROWD: Mostly retirees, some younger people. Very relaxed crowd, not a party atmosphere, which is exactly what we wanted. At age 39, we aren't looking to drink our faces off and go clubbing haha! SUMMARY: All in all, I am very pleased with our stay. It was exactly what we were looking for, and it delivered. There is nothing I would have changed, and I have zero complaints. Thank you, Krystal Grand, for your hospitality and impeccable service. I would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.
Great smaller feeling resort in paradise.

My husband and I and another couple (ages 45-50), just returned from 2 weeks at the Krystal Grand and we really enjoyed it and we will definitely return. There was typical resort entertainment during the day and at night, our room was spacious and clean, the resort grounds were not too big but beautiful and a great location. The beach is nice but the waves are very big. My husband loves to body surf the waves. POOL: We loved the fact that there was an adult only pool with a swim up bar and we spent a lot of our time here. Just an FYI….The resort has pool security that will remove all of your belongings from your chair if you are gone for too long. But he is also very helpful in helping you to find a place to sit, bringing over an umbrella, table, etc… The service at the adult pool and around the resort was very good. A special should out to Enrique! He definitely stood out with his customer service and made us feel at ”home” daily. FOOD: Even though the buffet was not huge, we had more than enough to eat at all meals. At breakfast you can have your eggs any way you like them at the grill station. Plus all the extras, like French toast, pancakes, fruit, parfaits, pastries, bacon, chicken/other meats, hashbrowns, cheese and ham quesadillas, traditional Mexican foods, cereal, etc….a special shout out to the amazing waiter named Felix! His customer service really stood out! At the snack shack by the pool, they served fresh fruit smoothies every morning. At lunch, the buffet had more than enough too. There was pizza, pasta, fried chicken, fries, nachos, beef dishes, pork, vegetarian, traditional Mexican foods, etc. Plus at lunch by the adult pool there was a snack shack where they made amazing fish tacos, burgers, hotdogs, nachos, fries, jambalaya, etc The family pool area also served hamburgers, hotdogs, fries and some traditional Mexican foods at their snack shack . For dinner, we did the Mexican, Italian, Grill, Japanese and we found something each night that was delicious. They do allow you to order a couple meals so you can try a variety of things as they are not huge portion sizes. We also visited the TAKE A BITE coffee shop daily and enjoyed our morning coffee. They also served a variety of pastries and small sandwiches. We also took advantage of room service while there. We enjoyed breakfast, the spaghetti, chicken quesadillas, club house, chicken wings, etc… EXCURSIONS: We booked online through Vallarta Adventures the VIP Rhythm of the Night show and it was amazing! We also used Uber and visited the towns Sayulita, Bucerías, La Cruz and Puerto Vallarta. There is so much to see and do at all of these places and it is very safe to walk around the areas. On Sunday morning there is a huge market at the marina in La Cruz and then afterwards we went to the Green Tomate to watch a local band and have lunch. In Bucerías we went to an Italian restaurant called La Dolce Vita and it was fantastic and I would highly recommend it for a special occasion or nice night out. We also went to Delicias Mexicanas for dinner and to Jax Bar and Grill to listen to a band and we enjoyed both of these places. CON: My only complaint was that the lobby needs MORE. Normally when you walk into a lobby at a resort, you think that is it so pretty and inviting. You don’t get that feeling here. This resort definitely needs at minimum….chairs! There were alot of seniors that had no place to sit as there were only a handful of chairs in the lobby. It is a large area and there wasn’t anything really impressive. It would be a nice place to sit and hang out in the evenings. We did go to the sports bar and the roof top adults only bar but I still feel like the lobby also needs to be an option for seniors, families or just anyone else in general. I would definitely recommend this resort to my family and friends
