Don’t get all inclusive- not worth it

Lorraine B on May 02, 2024

This place has gone downhill! Not just Pablo Bonito Mazatlan, but Pueblo Bonito in general. The shuttle they have been offering for the 25 years we’ve been coming here is now no longer in service, The people who confirmed our reservations and took the money for our all inclusive, assured us that it was. For the amount we are paying it, it is unacceptable.

Angelo’s is a Class Act

Our favorite restaurant in Mazatlan is Angelo’s. Our waiters were Alejandro Ibarra and Irvin Estrada and they were excellent! Very attentive and friendly. I had the Ravioli and my friend had the Lasagna and both were exceptional!

R&R with some room for improvement

SourGrapes4 (Fairfax, Virginia) on Apr 30, 2024

Resort shuttle pickup was reserved but we weren’t on the list. Not a problem for the driver. Quoted a return pickup time. Return airport shuttle was a no show, but the resort arranged airport transport via taxi. Sunday checkin line was long. 90 minutes long. Was not provided a resort map or any information on restaurant hours. We also didn’t appreciate the hassle buy the timeshare lady to “activate” my bracelet. In general, the lobby staff was not that nice during all our interactions. Wednesday checkout was fast. Look over your bill. There is a charitable donation charge that can be removed if you like, but it is automatically added. Oceanfront junior suite and balcony was nice. Would have liked a king room (if offered) instead of 2 queens since we only had 2 guests listed on the reservation. No big deal. There was a coffee maker and 2 mugs in the room (no kitchenette), but no coffee or bottled water or sugar and cream, so that’s weird. The room was quiet except for the lovely sound of the ocean waves crashing on the beach. Amazing! If that’s not the definition of R&R, I don’t know what is. The room was damp everyday however, but was dry at night when sleeping. Not sure what that’s about. Perhaps there is an occupancy sensor in the room. Paloma’s breakfast buffet provided lots of options. Our server, Enrique, was very nice and attentive. He even said hello on morning 2 as we passed by and stopped by our table on morning 3 as he was assigned outdoor tables. Very nice touch! The main pool was not crowded and the volleyball match was fun to watch. The lounge chairs were comfy. The resort shuttle between Mazatlan Beach Resort and Emerald Bay was not working so we had to pay for our own transportation (150 pesos) each way. Seems if a resort shuttle is offered and not available, the resort should pay for alternate transportation. Overall 4 out of 5 for price and value of European Plan, location to beach and nearby restaurants/ stores, on site dining options, and Enrique at Palomas, despite the little annoyances listed in my review.

Mazatlan bliss

Layne J (Pocatello, Idaho) on Apr 23, 2024

The staff makes you feel so very welcome. Carlos Ortiz remembered us from last year and went above and beyond when helping us out. The food was delicious and the accommodations were comfortable and clean. My fave vacation place of all time.

Best Trip ever!

Pueblo Bonito was absolutely perfect! And the staff was SO helpful and kind. I worked with Yibran Flores for two years to plan a trip for the eclipse for 70 people— and it went off without a hitch! They reserved space for our big group dinner, helped us plan an afternoon DJ pool party, and every room was clean and cozy, and came with a gorgeous view. Though the hotel was fully booked, there were always plenty of available beach chairs! From the grilled shrimp to the bottomless mezcalitas to those spectacular sunsets... Thank you Pueblo Bonito and all the good people who work there! We have a new favorite home in Mazatlan !
