    “Sheltering in Place” on vacation

My family and friends stayed at the Swan for three days during Spring Break 2020 as the COVID-19 epidemic began gathering steam in the US. Counterintuitive, maybe, but we were able to practice more “social distancing” than most due to the lack of other guests and staff. The management and staff made extraordinary efforts to make our stay enjoyable under circumstances that were far from ideal. Special mention should be made for Maranda from the pool wait-staff; Grace and Ray bartending at Il Mulino; and Nicole and Joe from Shula’s management team who stepped in to help out the Swan’s staff. All in all we had a great time, services were up to the task, and everyone on site worked very hard to be helpful, friendly and SAFE!

    Clueless!

Maybe you should read your emails or answer your phones! I never got to go on my trip due to the COVID-19 virus closing Disney. I tried numerous times trying to communicate with Cancelon to try and reschedule my trip but had no success. This company is a complete scam! They took my money and ran.

    Nice spot.

I don't recall the hotel I went to with my parents when I was a kid, but it definitely wasn't as nice as this place. Growing up has its perks. ;) I thought it would be overwhelmingly kid oriented and too animated, but it wasn't bad. Service was good and our long weekend stay wasn't too bad. Beds were cozy, the campus is large, easy to get around with the shuttles.

I recently stayed at this hotel for work and added an extra few days to relax. I am Marriott Gold, which apparently doesn't mean very much at this hotel. I paid for a King, Resort View with a balcony and expected to at least get what I paid for. I was only offered a low floor with a courtyard view (so basically no view except a view of other guests). The hotel was pretty empty yet they could not give me the room I paid for until the following day. Took me about an hour at the front desk speaking with a check in person named Serena who kept running back and forth to the manager on duty, Eric. After that hour, they finally said I could switch to a King, Resort View, Balcony and that it would be set up in the system and I would receive a text the following day when the room was ready. By mid-afternoon the following day, I used the chat feature on the app because I never received a text and was assured that they were still working on it. I waited and waited and never got the text and by that time, it was bedtime and I went to bed. Because I was switching rooms, I never had the room cleaned or the coffee/water replenished (which was the only value of the resort fee). I saw Eric the manager the following day and explained and he said he would arrange the switch for that day (my trip was half over at that point) and that he would credit the resort fee for that day because I wasn't able to get coffee/water or housekeeping. I did finally get the room I paid for early that afternoon. When it was time to check out, I noticed a $7 pool bar charge that was not mine and asked for it to be removed and was assured it was. The new folio emailed to me still showed the charge. I used the Marriott chat feature and was told it would be removed. I received an updated folio that still included the charge. And another $4.99 charge from the pool bar that was charged to my room AFTER I checked out. I used the chat feature again and was told I needed to contact billing. I contacted billing AND management via email and received an updated folio from accounting showing the $4.99 was removed but not the $7, so I emailed them yet again. In addition, when they removed the $30 resort fee, they did not credit the associated tax. Management never responded to my email. Also, about 1/2 of the restaurants at this hotel were not open or had limited hours, which I was not warned about prior to arrival and they were doing electrical maintenance, also not warned about.

Our family of 6, two grandparents, children and 2 grandchildren stayed here last week. The hotel is perfectly situated right next to The Boardwalk and Epcot. We were able to walk to The Boardwalk was fun to go to every night and we could see fireworks from two places at night out our window. We took a bus to the other parks with no issues. The rooms were your typical room but looked like new and the beds were very comfortable. There are several pools to swim in and they also have a nice playground. Our grandkids loved it. The staff were always very helpful and friendly. We stopped at Java every morning for our breakfast before heading to the parks. We would definitely stay here again.
