I had such an amazing time here with my friends. I was very impressed with the service, everyone was friendly, attentive and accommodating. I had very very minor issues with my booking, which were quickly resolved and overall weren't a big problem. The entertainment staff was very engaging, especially Beto and Brenda. . . .sorry if I have the names wrong. I loved that it was an Adults Only resort, it made the vacation time 200% better. We had so much fun at the beach, pool and Plaza bar. We had a great time getting to know different guests from so many different backgrounds. I wish I could still be there. I would totally recommend staying here!

    Not for me...

I came here for a guys trip last week and we pretty much decided it’s not for us. I think this resort would be a totally different experience pre or post covid, but during covid, it feels like a ghost town. They told us there were a little over 100 people staying at the resort at the time, and it definitely felt like it. That number dropped significantly after the weekend, when we had the pool to ourselves with one other couple. The resort suffers because of the limited amenities. We were under the impression the large main pool would be open – it wasn’t. In fact, that whole side is closed. Everyone stays on the Platinum side, so if you booked the other side, you’re told at check in that you’ve been “upgraded.” Depending on what type of room you wanted will determine if you think you really got upgraded or not. Restaurants. There is one buffet, yes buffet, with dishes and serving spoons circa Jan 2020 open for breakfast and also for lunch. That’s the only option. Breakfast has an omelet station and lunch has a grill and taco bar they rotate proteins in and out of. So it’s decent but gets tiring by day 3. They rotate dinner between two restaurants, so only one is open nightly. Guys – please note that you will need long pants and shoes, not flip flops. They won’t let you in otherwise, believe me I tried. Women seem to be able to get away with their usual dresses and sandals, however. Not sure of the reasoning behind men needing long pants at a beach resort where an all-inclusive room was under $200USD. It’s not a five star resort, but rules are rules it seems. Ultimately, we ended up hanging out in PDC every night for dinner and drinks and had some fantastic meals. Rooms. If you want all day sun, get the sunny side swim out. If you want to be close to the pool bar, that’s the other side of the building. There are multiple pools that almost connect all the way around the building. I liked the swim out and being on the ground floor. Second and third story rooms have small balconies, I think the ones with hot tubs are above the restaurants away from the pools. If it’s raining or has rained you will notice “the smell.” Not sure if it’s the jungle rotting or if it’s sewage, but it smells. And the sunny side rooms pay the price being next to the jungle. When the sun is out and it’s been dry, those rooms are still the best because the other side only gets a couple of hours of sun this time of year. Pool bar is decent, opens around 10. Beach bar opens at 9 I think. The staff is very attentive, very friendly, and seem to be able to make almost anything. Entertainment is lacking, but I don’t need that. They did to a fire show with dancers on Saturday night though. The pool activity staff does entertainment in the afternoon. They are highly energetic and try to get the minimal boozy crowds involved in the activities. Fun to people watch for five minutes or so. Room Service. Restaurants and bars close at 10. Room service will only bring food to you after hours, if they even answer. We tried one night after midnight and got no one. They will NOT deliver alcohol, at least to us. You get two cans of beer in the refrigerator in the room that is replenished daily, sometimes you have to ask, and that was it, along with the small bottles of liquor in your room. Not sure why they can’t bring up cans of beer, which they hoard like gold. Come on, it’s Sol beer in a can. I had to tip a guy I saw in the hall to bring beers to my room on a stealth mission, and he did succeed. The second day we did stop at the MEGA in Playa Del Carmen and bought chips, beer, vodka, and mixers. Your driver will stop for you and wait, it’s basically a big WalMart. And there is a Walmart nearby as well. Beach. The beach is ok although the sister resort next door has a better layout, more space, more chairs. Our beach had about 10 table/huts knocked over due to the storms and they’re still sitting like that. You do get the smell on the beach sometimes, but wasn’t really as bad as some people mentioned. Spa is nice, everything is open. No mask during massage. Massage was $70ish for 50 minutes during their special. There's also several beach massages for $30, I did one from the "blue guys" and it was awesome with the breeze and being outside. Check out. Easy enough although I did request a late check out the night before and the lady said they could not do it. I tried again the next morning and a different person said, ‘sure.’ They charged some people in our group a $10 exit fee, others didn’t get it. I would go over your bill as I heard of some double billing at check out. Tipping. It seems like everyone at the resort brought handfuls of ones down and they tipped every time they ordered at the bar, the buffet, everywhere. We tipped at the end a little, not much. Really wasn’t expecting this FYI. Overall: Pros: Wait staff, bartenders in the lobby, pool, and pink bar. Entertainment by the pool. Clean rooms. Decent buffet. Cons: Everything mentioned above. If you go to town it’s 300 pesos (~$15USD) or $20USD cash each way. Once there, if you want awesome tacos and incredible guacamole, try El Chuleton. Also ate at Porfirio’s and La Famiglia, great food. Bottom line, if you get a screaming deal and you want to isolate at a resort and read a book, you might really enjoy it. If you want a resort with a heartbeat, I’d stay in Cancun or somewhere in PDC. The inconsistencies and lack of amenities might turn you off right now. I will never be coming back, if you couldn’t get that from my review. Show less

Not sure we will ever come back. We were told that at the Yucatan side, we did not need reservations. The workers at the resort were extremely rude. Did not care what we were told. Everything we have been told has not been what happens. The service has been rude and hateful. I expected more during a pandemic. We could have went else where. But decided to come back here because we liked it last time. Won't make that mistake again. I am usually very easily satisfied, but this has been ridiculous.

We wanted an adult only, swim out and it’s what we got! When we arrived it was the smoothest check in EVER! We were driven to our room and were slightest disappointed with how far we were from the main area... however it turned into a godsend because the food was SO amazing we needed the walk after! The room was your standard room, nice beds and clean and came with local cats that came to visit! The rooms are stocked with larger shampoo, conditioner and lotion. The fridge had beer pop and water. There was also rum, tequila and vodka. I wish they had better coffee and fresh cream in rooms but I’m pretty sure that could have been arranged! I’m a walk up and coffee kinda girl! The swim out was great! We spent a lot of time in our pool which was shared with the bank of room and that was fine! Met a few people but we where with another couple and they were right next door. The only draw back was the drink service and you would have to get into the pool to go across to get it. The food... OMG! Amazing! We only went to one ala carte because the buffet was soooo good! We are not fussy people but there was always an abundance of choices. I’m lobster night, my husband stood in line and when he returned (bit of wait) he had not one, not two but multiple pieces! We did go to a couple shows, they were good! Your above standard show but generally by the time the shows started we were ready for bed. We loved our time and would come back in a heart beat!

My aunt and I took a last minute vacation to the PYP to refresh and recharge our batteries after the sudden loss of my mother last year. We were amazed with the resort and the great food, staff and activities. We both felt like we were queens for a week. Absolutely amazing.
