Phenomenal and engaging staff, and yes, the entire staff! The physical property is in pristine condition. I worked in hospitality management for high end condos and did a finger inspection for dust. It was squeaky clean from the walls to the crevices! I was stunned! The staff is genuinely helpful and accommodating. They’re engaging with the guests the entire time. I never saw one employee sneaking to check their cell phone or congregating on the side with friends to chit chat. I swear that happens in even the most expensive and luxury hotels in the US where they make you feel like you’re bothering them while they’re at work. Total opposite in Hyatt Ziva! The restaurant and food were of quality, unlike many resorts and the portion sizes of the meals were PERFECT! Not overly excessive, which is a major waste in all inclusives. I’m usually an adventurer traveler but I didnt want to leave the property because I was so pleased. overall… I’m already planning to go back in a few months haha.

Honestly, this resort has everything and more. I’m not going to get into great detail about everything, but here’s a quick Cole’s notes version. The resort is very clean, very well maintained and very organized. The grounds are beautiful and lovely to walk around. There are plenty of beach/pool chairs and I never felt crowded. The food is better than most resorts we’ve been to. In fact it could be the best food I’ve had at an all inclusive. Having a 14oz ribeye steak, that I didn’t have to pay for, at an all inclusive is a first for me. The room was great. Beautiful views, clean and updated. The bathroom in our room was bigger than ours at home. There was a butler assigned to our floor, which was not what my wife and I are used to. Both Natasha and Gigi were more than eager to help, even though we never used their services. They checked in everyday and made sure we had everything we needed. The staff in general were all very friendly and always wanting to help. I had great chats with a few different staff members and really appreciated their sincerity. Beaches are beautiful and the sand is very clean. Seaweed rolled in on our last couple days but that is no one’s fault. The only bad part and for me it is a big one. The dolphin exhibit. In the year 2024 I kind of thought we were over exploiting these animals, but apparently I was wrong. I didn’t expect to see 4 or 5 dolphins swimming in a small enclosure for people’s enjoyment. Really sad and hard to watch. Please don’t tell me they are well looked after and are happy flouting around in a football field sized pool. Really hard to fathom that they don’t want you using plastic straws but we’re ok with caging dolphins. So weird. Other than the dolphins I have no complaints. I would love to come back, but refuse if the dolphins are still there. Had we known we wouldn’t have booked this resort.

Being a naiive smoking Canadian that I am, I did not look up smoking laws in Mexico, which had since changed. We were given a final warning on day 2 for smoking on our balcony. Fair and deserved, we ran into Rene from front office who went out of his way showing us the designated smoking areas. Jaime, our belboy, set us up in our room, telling us all about the resort. During our stay every time we passed Jaime he had a fistpump and a check-in to make sure we were finding everything we needed; made us feel like family. Our butlers, Gigi and Natasha from the turquoise tower were amazing and sweet, ensuring that our time was special. Restaurants had many to choose from. No reservations or waits. Favorites were the Moongate(reserve) with the Hibatchi, "Jackie Chans" son was amazing. And the Italian in third. Some meals were small portioned, however, you can order more than 1 and there is 24 hour room service!!! We came as a couple for a business trip. I felt that the shows were more family orientated, that being said they did a great job of getting kids involved and having fun. We are also not drinkers, so typically in evenings we spend the time on our balcony, enjoying a cigarette and playing cards. One suggestion I would make is to have designated smoking baloconie rooms. Overall we were very impressed with this resort, it's beautiful during the evenings, magnificant ocean views, grounds are wellkept, rooms are very clean. There is a beautiful smell all over the resort, that you can even find on the toilet paper. We decided to do all our souvenir shopping at the resort, as the Pier 27 Shop has great deals and souvenirs. 3 staff helped us pack up all our gifts and we were able to find something for everyone on our list. All in all we had a great time, would return and would recommend this resort to families with kids. Hyatt Ziva came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our entire 5 day stay. I traveled with a 2.5 year old and felt the resort was great for families with children of all ages but also would go back with a group of adults. I'm always skeptical of food at resorts however the food was solid across the board. Moongate and Tre Cervezas were my favorites. Plan to get a pool or beach side cabana to fully indulge in a day of relaxation, food and drinks. I will book here again and suggest it to friends.
