    Always a great experience!

    This was our 4th time staying at Melia Cozumel in the tower rooms. The view from every room is exceptional. We watched every day from our balcony, the hard working employees that were up bright and early to maintain the beach, the pool, all of the outdoor areas. That same diligence is seen on the inside of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was the best way to start the day. Martin & his associates always made sure we had our special requests met and every day with charm & a smile. Our friend had her 50th bday there and Martin & friends brought her a cake and sang to her! It was wonderful! The food is always good and even during the pandemic, it was delicious and fresh. There are some limited options due to the current situation, but they made sure we would barely notice. Cesar, Antonio, and colleagues at the front door were terrific as they helped us find a tour guide, great advice on where to go, etc. So fun and just truly friendly. We saw a lot of familiar faces from over the years and it's like going back to see old friends. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

    Much needed covid break

    I planned this trip as a much needed get away for my husband and myself. He’s been stuck working at home for a year and as a nurse, my husband likes to call me an “essential” worker. So, like most everyone, we have had a stressful year and needed some sun, sand, and relaxation. I did lots of research on the different all-inclusive resorts and picked Meliá because it had the best beach and great reviews. The beach is awesome!! Very Long Beach, lots of chairs and cabana’s available. Unfortunately, we had a lot of seaweed during our stay, but they worked hard to keep it clean and by the last day hardly any on the beach. The food was ok, nothing great, not horrible, service was always good though. Our issues began on the second day when our room key wouldn’t work. We were locked out. They sent a maintenance person to fix it pretty quickly. Then it happened again the next day. We had to go back to the front desk and request maintenance to come back. Locked out again. Now we are frustrated; they did offer to move our room, but we’d already unpacked and didn’t want to do that unless we had to. They replaced the equipment on the door and we were back in business. There was no server by the adult pool, we were told you had to rent one of the cabanas to get a server. Annoying, but we each are able to get up and get our own drinks; but that’s why we do all inclusive, so we don’t have to. With covid restrictions, we needed a negative covid test to get back home. The resort offers this service, making it very easy. We scheduled our appointment for the day before we were due to fly out. We were not able to check in for the return flight without a negative test. We showed up for our appointment to find out we were not on the schedule and they didn’t have any tests left and would not be able to give us the test. Again, we went to the front desk and they told us our appointment was actually the next day, the day we had to leave to fly back home. They promised we could get the first test the next morning and would be able to get to the airport in time. This was upsetting, adding stress to our lives when we came to Meliá to escape that. The next morning we arrived for our covid test, our appt was at 9 we needed to leave for the airport by 10. The doctor was late, and didn’t arrive until 9:25. The good news was the test was very fast, we were negative, and we were able to leave for the airport on time. But again, the extra stress of the whole ordeal was very frustrating. Each of these issues alone would not be a big deal, but all of them combined was very frustrating. The worst part to me was when I spoke with the manager at check out explaining my experiences and asked if the massages we had received during our stay could be comped by the resort. He said the “spa is separate.” That was it. Nothing was offered, Only “I’m sorry, do you want my email address.” The level of service was definitely sub par in my situation and I now understand why it’s rated as a 3 start resort. I will not be staying here again.

    Perfect Anniversary get away

    We chose Melia Cozumel for our 12 year anniversary it was Our first time on the island and we are in LOVE! We have already been talking about coming back, we stayed in one of the royal suites right on the ground just feet away from the beach. The all inclusive buffet was great, something different every meal each day. The staff was what we loved the most, they work so hard to keep their property clean and guests safe and happy. Thank you Enrique, William, Augusto, Miguel, Fredy, Edwin,Antonio, Christina so many others to name who made us feel welcome. Not just the staff serving drinks and food but every single staff member there was always working or cleaning or serving, the employees at this hotel is why we will be back!!

    They have a lot of improve ins some areas like service quality of the food, variety of menus. Problems also with Wi-Fi connection slow and intermittent. Also when you have a problem in your room too much delay, When we arrived the cards given in the reception did not work to open the room. Issues to program the safety box. Slow service etc

    One of the best vacations we did with another four families all together. Every one had an amazing time there and lots of fun. I will definitely recommend this resort to anyone who really wants to spend time on this island.
