My adult daughter and I have stayed in this hotel in the Junior Suite at least 10 times over the years. It has a King Bed so we have always requested a rollaway. This year no go. “Rooms are for couples so Protocol says no rollaway beds.” In my business customer is always right. Not here. Also maintenance has gone way down hill. Elevators are down half the time. Safe in the room doesn’t work. Some plugs don’t work. Made a reservation for a cabana and they lost it. We won’t be back.

It is a wonderful hotel, not too big. It is great for couples and families as it doesn't have too much noise, nor too much drinking. The beach is perfect if you want to rest on your stay. The food in the restaurant could be better, but it is fine. We stayed 4 nights and it was a beautiful experience.

My wife and I just concluded a 5 day getaway to Melia Cozumel. Shout out to their personnel who provided superior service, including Hector, Miguel, and Roberto. Extra kudos to Jorge, Adrian, and Chef Ernesto who went above and beyond to take care of us! Overall it was a great experience. The only negative was the food, so I’ll get that out of the way first. My wife and I are not picky by any means, but it just seemed there were not a lot of choices and what we did get was not always hot or particularly flavorful. And some things were better than others. Other reviewers have found the food to be great. Personal taste I guess! Now all the good stuff! We paid for Level and absolutely loved the royal suite room. It was on the ground floor so we literally walked out of our back, sliding glass door onto the beach. Our private deck/patio had a jacuzzi that at first appeared too small and shallow but soon found out it was a perfect size and depth! Best of all, when you filled it, you could choose the water temperature and if you chose full hot it would be hotter than you can stand. I had to let a little out and run the cold water for a bit. So much better than the luke warm jacuzzis I experience most places. The room was spacious and spotless and the daily service great. Loved the rain shower shower head. Again, water as hot as you could possibly want it. Selection in the mini fridge wasn’t great but had the basics. We read that if you had a Level room you could customize your mini fridge but it was not a big deal to us. The pools looked clean, spacious, and well kept but we didn’t spend any time in them as we are beach people. Pools never appeared crowded. Or did the beach for that matter. Another perk of Level is reserving the Bali beds. They were fantastic, but remember to reserve them when you check in. The beach is awesome with only a bit of seaweed. Water was slightly murky most of the time but when it cleared up it was gorgeous. The resort next door has crystal clear water thanks to an ugly pier and you can certainly walk over there to snorkel or swim. I liked the size of Melia. Never felt crowded and easy to get to all areas. The ultimate question: Would we come back? I say yes - great value for the price and so many good points. My wife, probably not. Would like better food and something a little less dated. Since I am writing the review, I say go for it!!

Beautiful beach. Very quiet and laid back hotel. Level Up, it’s worth it. Rooms were very clean. Good food, buffet was a little repetitive. Both restaurants were very good. Amazing service from Alfonso, our Conciere, and Jorge at the Mole Snack bar.

Absolutely 5 stars all the way for 10 days on our anniversary! What an amazing experience. Melia knows what they are doing and it shows in all aspects. From the transport/baggage employees[Roberto] to the top executives[Annette] they made us feel like family, and can't wait to return. We had Level room on sandy beach, ate in all 3 fantastic restaurants+bistro, and enjoyed many activities and shows. Concierge Alphonso was very attentive and helpful,as were the others if he was busy. Guest services,front desk, housekeeping,waiters,bartenders,grounds were all at their best. I'm in building trades and I was blown away at the thought and execution of even the layout and flow of the entire resort. Employees were always busy cleaning,touch up painting,thatching, raking,etc. and were always smiling. Snorkeling,mini-golf,spa, gym, pools,palapas,bali beds,game room,auditorium,and long beach walks kept us busy on site.We did island jeep tour to Punta Sur, Mayan Experience, and caught taxi to Chankanaab for more snorkeling besides. Made dinner reservations at Mole[photo with Ian ,Daniel, awesome chef,others] or Fish House[ Capt. Carlos,Adrian,Chef Claudia,and the muy excelente Jorge] We made our way through many different starters,and entrees,cocktails, and even used coupons for upgraded menu items. The main buffet restaurant,where most people are, is huge and constantly changing. Amazing Executive Chef Francisco was always working and his staff is top level. Music is very important to us, and I found the soundtracks playing in restaurants and bars absolutely perfect with great blend of jazz,and world music. We had 87,88 degrees everyday with sun,but by the last couple of days in late April, it seemed the season was starting to change with more surf and breezes, so possibly earlier next time. Recommended to all nice people! Be nice and show respect and the Mayan people will repay you tenfold. Melia Resort was an awesome experience. Muchas gracias!
