Not pleased with staff treatment or extra fees

Upon check in I was informed of the resort fees, I booked this room on booking.com and the reservation was for 1 room with two bedrooms, never did it say it was two rooms that just connected, it made it sound like a suite like what I thought I was booking. So to find that there were 2 separate resort fees for services we don’t use, especially right now during covid and we were only there for a night, was disappointing and just felt like we were throwing money away. Aside from that when I went to check out I was then told that I had to pay $11 per room for “guaranteed connecting” which first of all wasn’t mentioned upon check in and second of all my booking from booking.com said I booked 1 room, a 2 bedroom suite, as if it automatically came that way. How am I supposed to know that it’s actually just two connecting rooms. When I told the agent this she said that I’m the one who called to request this which I NEVER called the hotel for any part of my reservation, I went strictly through booking.com. But the agent was determined to believe that I was lying to her and told me it was policy and I had to pay these fees I was never informed about. I asked to speak to a manager and she finally decided to waive the fees. I don’t appreciate the way I was treated and I was never once asked how our stay was! And $102 in resort fees for one night feels like a crime! I will also add that as we were going up to our room, the security guard at the elevators stopped my mom who had a rolling cooler and made her open it to inspect what we had. We had soda bottles, waters, two jugs of raspberry lemonade and 4 bottles of wine (to be shared amongst 6 girls for a bachelorette party) and the security guard was so rude, he said “now that’s a lot of alcohol you have there” was so judgmental to us and treated us like we were trouble makers, had to make a log of ALL the alcohol we had (we didn’t even have much of anything) and made us feel so uncomfortable. If this is how every guest bringing drinks to enjoy for the evening is treated it is complete uncalled for. Won’t be staying again if this is how we will be treated. I have hospitality experience, i have higher standards than this.

Great room, not so great gaming

Very comfortable bed, spacious living room, but gaming was not good. Video poker payout is horrible. Play at casinos where locals play. I had much better luck elsewhere. Also, the restaurants were not as good as I expected, pricey, but not that good. Get out of the hotel and go elsewhere. There are so many great restaurants with reasonable prices. Try Chinatown nearby. Great restaurants, dessert, massage, etc.

Had a wonderful time, and did the best any hotel on its level could do to visibly show their commitment towards healthy and safety, as far as we are concerned. The other guest/visitors I wouldn’t say the same for, but had nothing to do with the establishment itself. Check in was lovely and the room was up to par. The service, restaurants, and drinks were amazing. Except for 1 restaurant on the “row”, where the service was consistently slow on both of the occasions we chose them. But the drinking and dining choices otherwise, completely made up for our 2 try. We could definitely tell the difference between Palazzo and Venetian. 2 completely different vibes. The Palazzo was more laid back, less rushed and softer, where the Venetian seemed louder, crowded, and more party people, zigzagging, environment. We had a really enjoyable anniversary and will have fond memories.

Everything during our stay here was wonderful! From the massive selection of restaurants, the pool, the room and all the amenities. All amazing. Staff was friendly and helpful and even with all the annoying covid stuff going on they made us feel safe and comfortable. Thank you!
