Absolutely amazing hotel! Unbelievable service. I visited Magestic with my daughter and I was kind of interested if she would let me relax during the stay. Girls from the kids club were amazing, that took care of her from 9 am to 9 pm.Thank you Diana and Alex. Beach is beautiful. The waiter Angel on the beach is very carrying and he pays attention to people. And of course Cindy, she is amazing. You can tell she loves what she does. And she gives all ?? %. I will definitely come back!!

No. Just no. Not a 5 star resort. Don't believe their fake reviews.

Spend your money elsewhere. This is not a 5 star resort. I just returned from a week there, so let me explain... Check in: Claimed our credit card wasn't working. They tried several times and wound up putting it on another card. Trust me, there was nothing wrong with a card that has a $30,000 credit limit. We paid extra for the Club Suite: don't bother. I went to the club lounge one night about 6pm to get some mineral water and the whole place was shut down. At 6pm... I called room service for some water and was promptly told that "we don't do that". The food that was available during the day in the lounge was just awful. My husband had a bone in his burrito and I had a piece of plastic in my crab croissant. On our first day we spent our afternoon waiting on maintenance. The TV wasn't working. That took several hours. Then, they didn't have the complimentary bottle of tequila that was included in the room. Although, they did have this tequila at the bar outlets. Go figure. We finally got a substitute bottle two days later after speaking to the club manager. Later that day, we filled the whirlpool and orange sludge came out, coating the inside with an oily substance. The cleaning person could not even get it clean. Once again, we spoke to the club manager to get it resolved. Safety and security: There was no way to put a Do Not Disturb on the door. The electronic lock would show red briefly, but then revert back to being unlocked. This was exacerbated by the constant parade of people knocking on the door throughout the day. Butler, Maid, Mini Bar Refiller, Butler, Towel Lady (at 10pm!). They would knock on the door and we would yell, but they continued and just barged in, catching us in various stages of undress. This was never resolved. Noise: AWFUL. You would think this was spring break with the loud music and unruly guests. We had to call security 3 times, twice for kids being in the adults only swim up pool (which we paid extra for) and once for a domestic disturbance in the room next to us. No effort was made to tone down the volume or restrict the guests. For this reason alone I would never stay there again. The food was horrible. Worse than a 3 star hotel. Dry, tasteless and horribly inconsistent. Even if you found something you liked, the next time you ordered it would be completely different! We were completely embarrassed during our first restaurant trip because we didn't comply with their "dress code" (whatever that is). We were wearing nice bermuda shorts, polo shirts and close-toed shoes. Keep in mind, the restaurants are open on a rotating basis, so they refused service to us when there was no other casual place to eat, other than room service. The dress code is a joke, since the woman who was seated while we were waiting strolled in wearing hot pants with her cheeks hanging out. We were livid and almost left the hotel, but this was only our second night... so we stuck it out, ordering room service for most of our trip. Communication: Constant confusion about restaurants that are open, hours, dress code, entertainment schedule, etc. We spent about an hour one morning looking for Flavors buffet, which was supposedly open for breakfast. We asked several people where it was and we were sent 10 different directions. We finally found it and it was closed. Not open AT ALL. Ever. Breakfast was at the Mer restaurant at the beach. In order to attempt to keep us happy, the bribed us with hats, shirts and a free romantic dinner on the beach. Here's the catch...they want you to sign something stating that the dinner is the only compensation necessary to keep you happy and you won't write bad reviews on them. I read it and ripped up the paper in front of the Butler and told them what they could do with their dinner on the beach. The beach: No shade... and the sand was mostly brought in from somewhere and has tiny burrs buried in it. It was painful to walk to the water without shoes. I still found some burrs in our stuff when we were packing up this morning. I am not normally a complainer, and I like to give people some slack during Covid-19, but the things that drag this hotel down are not related to that. They are a result of poor management and lack of caring. In walking down the halls for a week, I heard many people who were complaining to their butler or club manager. If you read any 5 star reviews written in September, don't believe them. They are planted there by the hotel because they know what is coming with their reviews. Spend your money elsewhere at a more established resort.

This trip came at the perfect time for me. Very stressful/emotional time in my life & Majestic Elegance was just what was needed! Everything from the views, atmosphere, the staff (shout out to our butler Gustavo), and the food/drinks, was phenomenal. I can’t wait to go back and stay longer next time.

Me and my wife recently had the pleasure of staying at this resort and it is hands down the best resort we have ever stayed in. Gustavo was our butler and seeked us out frequently to make sure we had everything we needed and also handled all our dinner reservations. The general manager made frequent rounds throughout the resort on a daily basis and made it a point to stop and talk to us to ensure we were alright and had everything we needed. Two of our favorite staff members were Samuel who served us on the beach and Alan who was the bartender at the Infiniti pool these two provided amazing service to me and my wife. We tried every restaurant in the place and the food was unbelievably good in all of them. This is an amazing resort with an even more amazing staff we highly commend this resort and we will be booking another trip metime in the near future

    Not a Five Star

This is going to be a very honest and pointed review. I am sure the resort will respond to it with its usual canned response like all of the other critical reviews. Let’s start with saying clearly this is not a five star resort and is way overpriced for what it actually is which is a three star at best. The most positive thing I can say about the resort is the staff is great. They will go out of their way to help you with anything you may need. Our butler Pilar was great, professional and helpful. Eduardo the club manager went out of his way to correct problems. Our housekeeper was amazing and very good at keeping our room well stocked and clean. Roger at the beach restaurant was very fun and helpful as were the rest of the staff. I want to be clear the problems with the resort are not because of them. The problems are things which are out of their control. 1. The Food. The food is simply not good. Even the specialty restaurants are not good. The most surprising thing is that Mexican food is not good at all. The one thing a Mexican resort should get right is the food and this is not even close to how amazing the local food actually is. A five star restaurant offers a higher quality of food which is not from a freezer bag. Give you an example, the onion rings are that cheap processed onion food you get in the low cost freezer section of your grocery store. I ordered a specialty hot dog which came in a stale bun with that bad nacho cheese sauce you get on nachos at your local value store. I ordered a New York steak from the steak restaurant. I ordered the steak medium well knowing that it might be medium when I get it. My steak was bloody rare. Not only was it bloody rare but it was so tough I could not eat it. The bacon you get is often so overcooked it is like beef jerky. I got a bone in a conchinita burrito. None of this is an exaggeration. It is exactly what I describe. My husband had a piece of plastic in his sandwich at lunch. These are serious problems. The quality is not good and is not even close to a five star establishment or even what a three star establishment should be. 2. Privacy. There is no way to lock your room to keep the staff out while you are in your room and if you do not answer the door quickly enough they just come on in. Two times people came in while I was dressing to get to the door and I was naked. This is not acceptable and is a clear invasion of guest privacy. There is not a do not disturb so you cannot do anything. You are captive to the whims of the staff. 3. We came here instead of the Cancun hotel zone because we thought it would be a little quieter and more relaxing. You expect a noisy main pool but when you have a swim up pool Frat boy shenanigans should not be allowed. Adults seriously acting worse than children and music blaring from speakers they brought in with them. Even if you complain they will not quiet anyone down. Two times there were children in the adult club section which costs extra for no children and they were not removed. Loud parties. People running up and down the halls screaming at all hours. A couple beating each other up next door. The woman screaming at the top of her lungs so we had to call security because she sounded like she was being hurt or worse. This is not a relaxing kind of place and I cannot imagine it being good for children either. 4. The Beach. There is very little shade but the big problem here is there are thorny burrs in the sand which stick to your feet in even with shoes on and they hurt bad enough to keep you from going to the beach. When you use a station to wash the sand off your feet the drain is full of these burrs. A worker on the beach hear me say that something was sticking to my feet and he just laughed at me. The beach is unusable. Overall this was a very disappointing experience. It was not the quality which was advertised and it was not a relaxing experience. I got to the point where I just stopped complaining because I walked the halls and could hear all of the people complaining about many of the same things we were experiencing. Quite honestly I started feeling sorry for the people who worked here so I just kept quiet. My advice? Find somewhere else to stay at least for awhile until this resort gets its act together because right now it is just not good. There are a lot of resorts out there which are much better and a lot better value than this one. There were many more things which were not good but a review should not have to be a book. My final recommendation? Go someplace else.
