Our very first Sandals 8 uears ago was this one. I was hooked. We are emerald members and this was our 6 visit to a Sandals. We brought our friends here. MASSIVE dissappint. Rooms and grounds were kept up very nice. Not enough staff, staff was NOT Jamaica friendly. We were highly disspointed as i thought we'd visit a Sandals every year. Staff seemed as if they hated being there. Ice machines out on both floors. Called twice every day to get ice delivered was told we will be there shortly. Nevwr saq the ice. Nit enoufh bar tenders-20 minutes for a beer and bartenders overwhlemed. Im used ro the bartenders beinf the most of all employess. Wd wont be back to a Sandals unless we get a big discount to Review and see if its changed. Im not one who complains either as i know rhe jobs arw hard but this was Walmart Level service ar Macy's price. Shawn Marsha Byrne Craig Kathy Rotta. Good-boys loved the golf.

I want to give AALIYAH 5 stars! She made this trip fun and enjoyable and we can’t gush enough about her! Sandals, keep that girl happy because she is amazing! Amelia with entertainment was amazing and I don’t know how that girl isn’t famous because she can sing! Food was better than most resorts I’ve stayed at, the Italian is 5 stars. Response to issues in the room was lax, spent the better part of a day and a half trying to get running hot water to the room. Our butlers were nice but maybe a little overworked or too busy? We hardly asked for anything save a ride or two and would have to grab a ride with someone else. We chose to walk most times. They did try to add a few nice touches to the room which was appreciated. Overall, I would stay at another resort for half the price with the same experience, but I would go back for Aaliyah and Amelia!

Aaliyah in entertainment was hands down the best! She is like family now! So sweet, included us in everything and made us feel so welcome. She made it a point to find us and have the best time with us! She will be apart of our stories we tell when we talk about Ochi. Alex and Dewayne, our butlers, again, like family! They were amazing! We’ve been to a few Sandals and if we could, we would take them with us everywhere we go! Not even to butler but just to hang! So fun. So attentive. So loving! This was an amazing trip, and we owe a lot of that to Aaliyah in entertainment, Alex and Dewayne in butler service.

We came for a wedding and my husband and I elected to reserve one of the most expensive rooms in Butler Villa on the Hillside. Our butlers were great although we rarely used them. But for the price paid, the room was incredibly outdated. The furnishings were gross and everything was damp - even our freshly unpacked clothes after we hung them in the closet. The toilet was barely functioning and BROKE during our stay, flooding the bathroom with water and spraying my husband with toilet water. Not clogged - a piece was actually broken. Our butlers went above and beyond to fix it and make it up to us with a romantic surprise when we returned to the room. Both were extremely sweet. As for the food, you could tell it was being stretched. Water added to cokes, incredibly small portions, etc. On the beach side, an entire section of the beach was cordoned off due to warped planks that had obviously been that way a way. Other members of our party observed roaches scurrying around. Theres also a huge problem with stray cats in all of the open air restaurant areas on the Hillside. There were always at least six or so staring up at us as we ate and running around the tables. We were told we could visit any of the Sandals in the vicinity, but when we actually tried to do we were told the others were “at capacity” and we could MAYBE go for dinner or visit another day. Luckily for us, the newlyweds switched over to Sandals Dunns River and invited us for dinner. There was one bus leaving from Sandals Ochi at 5 and returning at 9:15 pm. If you missed it, oh well. 8 people were left behind when we returned after dinner - and the driver took off at 9:10 pm. Sandals Dunns River was amazing, by the way. We were only there for dinner (see above) but the food was of such a better quality) as was everything else. But to be fair, Dunns is only about 8 months old and Ochi seems to be declining. Even the other couples on our bus were talking about how outdated Ochi was compared to Dunns River. If we’d known Dunns River existed, we would have stayed there and gone over to Ochi solely for the wedding. Speaking of which - Ochi does have an absolutely stunning chapel for weddings! Catching a taxi from the resort to venture out is a nonstarter. They contract with certain drivers and charge $40 roundtrip regardless of where you’re going. Before you arrive, you’re told you won’t need cash. Not true. While you’re not allowed to tip employees (which we absolutely SHOULD BE allowed to do without them losing them jobs) you CAN tip the butlers. There are also vendors on the resort who only accept cash (like if you want to buy wooden carvings or paintings on the beach). But guess what there’s not a single ATM on the resort. If you want cash, take a $40 can ride into town. Will not be staying here again.

This was our second trip to this location. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves again here. Never seems over crowded and so much to see and do there. We stayed on the Riviera Sea side and visited the Great House side as well as Ochi Beach Club. We spent most of our time at Ochi Beach Pool and Great House Pools. They seemed to be the most active spots for sure. Restaurants were great all around. Valentino's and Kimonos were our favorites. We were not aware until after we arrived that a storm had damaged the dock area in front of the resort pretty bad. That also was one of our favorite spots from our last visit. Hopefully they'll have repaired before our next visit. We also did the Catamaran to Dunn's Falls excursion and were surprised to see it included some snorkeling as well. Great experience! We also had a candle light dinner on the beach for our Anniversary. Food and service was great for that as well. Love being part of the Ochi family!
