leigh w (Yeovil, United Kingdom) on May 05, 2024

Fantastic food available nearly 27/7 large pool loads of Sun beds well kept ok for a few days ! Now the cons luke warm water in the rooms at best , asmatic air com , muddy water as there is a river near by , worst of all is the location there is nothing near by , La Romana the nearest town is 30km away so you are stuck with hotel trips which are very expensive

Nice not excellent

MarioTodorov (Toronto, Canada) on May 02, 2024

I will present this review in an essential way as an industry expert and you have details and names from others. I recommend this resort, but only if you agree to get a bit less than you paid for and understand that prices have gone up everywhere. In this terms this place has a memorable charm of its own. 1.5 hours transfer from the Punta Cana airport, get a few cold drinks. Check in starts around 1 p.m and luckily may take 30 min to get your preferred room away from the pool and close to the beach. Enough time left to go to the beach and shower before dinner in the restaurant. Arrange your flight to match this time. Two stories motel type hotel buildings with balconies almost at the beach, average housekeeping, but for a few bucks will get better room cleaning and stocking the fridge. Nice white sand beach under mature palm trees shade with straw umbrellas and beach chairs. For a few bucks you can arrange with beach keepers hotel associates to keep your spot, umbrella and chair for the whole stay, even leave you towels and inflatables over night. This is how you avoid the morning hustle to early run to the beach to get a spot. Plenty of food in main and beach restaurants with above average quality. Get some stomach remedy as many people get bloated and get diarrhea from local bacteria in the water. Nothing serious, but uncomfortable. Local beer and rum based cocktails free and imports available for a price. Locals climb the palm trees and for a few bucks you can get fresh coconut, just stick the straw in the hole they cut for you and cool it down before enjoying the juice as a complement to the alcoholic beverage you purchased at duty free before arriving here. I recommend it. Enough room at lobby bar and nearby gazebos to relax at night. Tipping is the key to get much more. Not much entertainment unless you like Michael Jackson impersonators and a poor disco. Good place to chill and make love. Relatively quiet, remote, away from the crowds like Punta Cana and right on the beach. Water a bit murky, but clean and safe. Kids a bit noisy, but right next door is a luxury version of the same hotel adults only for a few hundreds more. The choice is yours, I recommend it as specified and enjoy ??

Great time at Bahia Principe Grant La Romana

Yesenia N on May 01, 2024

My family and I had a wonderful time In the hotel. The staff are excellent. I have to acknowledge Luis David, he is the bartender at the lobby. I noticed that he was the person people wanted to be taken care of. Also, I have to mention Evelyn. She was the one who used to take care of what we needed at the bar. I don't know how to describe the love of everyone, like Oustin Rojas, Marina, Sofina Santana (the hosts), Jufreisy, and Perla (entertainment). I also met a person in the restaurant but unfortunately, I do not remember her name. The person who cleaned our room did a wonderful job. We felt like we were in the right place with all the love and the happiness we received on this place.

Very disappointed.

So we are still here been at this resort since April 22, 2024 leaving Monday May 6. Warning to those thinking of coming. Food isn’t as the reviews say, no one speaks English, and to us staff isn’t friendly. Asking a question never get the right answer. Pool and casino are our only fun. Checking in was a nightmare got room wrong can’t be on second level. Put us right by pool which is good but had to get a rollaway cause they gave us a room with a king only. I am a seasoned traveler and this place is not worth you money or time. There is no room service, and very inconsistent on room cleaning and restocking of water soda etc. Beach is very merkey cause of location river flows into ocean by this hotel. This is a fair review many people didn’t like it here some left and went elsewhere. Yes I am from the states, thanks for your time. RF

Worst stay

Ricky S on Apr 28, 2024

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, in my entire life. From the cockroaches in every single room to the inedible food being served in three different resteraunts on this resort. The tasteless slimey food had 0 nutrients and had gotten me and 6 of my friends sick, which is why we chose to risk our safety and leave the resort for the sole purpose of finding something to eat over the course of the next 5 days. When it came to the staff everyone was fake nice but would laugh at you in their language when you ask a genuine question. Everything is misleading, when we booked our excretions we were told it was minimum 45 minutes away but ended up being 2 hours both ways. The boat rides in which we paid $100 USD each for was a nightmare. Not only did we have to wake up early and still kiss breakfast we were stuffed onto a boat which was headed straight into a storm. Within an hour of cursing the rain started hammering onto us which promoted us to ask to go back due to safety reasons, the boat crew just laughed at us and continued to voyage forward to catalina island which was also getting hammered by rain. Once we got to the island we stayed under shelter until the rain stopped just to go back home. Definitely not worth $100 USD. There is 0 room service they will tell you to pretty much kick rocks for anything you ask for through reception, we could not even order a simple towel or water bottle to our room. The beach is completely filled with river water and is mucky brown which is not safe to swim in but there are 0 warning signs along the beach. If you want to so much as walk around the resort freely you cannot even do that without being asked to upgrade to a VIP wrist band which is not even worth it for one extra pool and a few beach seats. The water was really cold in the shower and the AC are out dated. This hotel is not a 5 star and shouldn’t even be a 1 star this establishment should be shut down.
