We loved this resort! The food was excellent and I am gluten free. They made gf desserts just for me and showed me what I could eat in the buffet and à la cartes. The wine was excellent and the mixed drinks. We had wonderful, attentive servers. The beach and pools are beautiful and everything is super clean. We had a problem with noise on our floor and they moved us to an ocean view room that was quiet for the rest of our stay. Towels and beach chairs were easy to obtain. Everything ran well. We would definitely return!

A bad start, the shower and door entry lock was broken. We eventually moved to another room on the 6th floor which was much better. We should have been moved much sooner really. Special thanks to Jose for sorting this and following up over WhatsApp which was a nice touch.

I was a bit unsure of what to expect upon arrival at Occidental Tucancun. The reviews are mixed. I came with friends for our spring break and I am happy to report the stay exceeded our expectations! The resort is definitely basic, there are not all kinds of activities and entertainment going on at all times. However, that worked for us. We enjoyed laying out by the pool (definitely bring your own speaker if you are at the adult only pool) and taking advantage of the swim-up bar. Drinks were great, but I would have loved a bit more variety in the menu. Although the clientele is a bit older than college age, we enjoyed the atmosphere. It's much more lowkey that other party resorts in the area, but that is not what we were looking for. We did venture off the resort to the mall across the street for bottled water and snacks, as well as booking through the resort for the Coco Bongo Beach Club and Nightclub package (priced very well). I was most nervous about the food, but it was pretty good across the board! The buffet is great at breakfast and lunch, with fresh omelettes and burgers, respectively, which kept our group happy. I honestly thought there was a pretty good variety. I always found something good, but I am not very picky. We also enjoyed eating at all three restaurants; the Mexican was definitely the best, followed by the Italian, and then the Seafood. No one in my party got sick from any of the food we ate. The room was nice for what we needed it for. It was clean and spacious. We were on the top floor (high ceilings made the room feel larger), and they also accommodated our large party with a connecting room. Shoutout to Diego at reception for consistently answering all of our questions and being a fantastic front desk representative. The grounds and amenities are also great. The beach is truly one of the best in the hotel zone. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and the staff was so kind and attentive at all times. I would definitely consider Occidental Tucancun for my next trip to Cancun!

Wonderful hotel and staff very friendly. Location is brilliant as located right on a beautiful beach which is maintained daily. Great selection of food across all buffets and restaurants. 3 amazing pools. Very relaxing Location. We had premium ocean front lower level rooms which I totally recommend wow. Cannot remember everyone's name but a big mention out to Jessica palma at buffet entrance each day . Always treated with huge smile polite and very helpful. Thank you .It's a long way from Scotland but We will be back .
