Our Diamond Club concierge, Alfredo, and pool bartender, Henry, took care of our group. Making the birthday celebration extra special. The care they took was over the top. Henry made sure we were well fed and and never let our drinks go empty. Highly recommend the spicy margheritas.
Don’t come if you want adult only

If you are expecting an adult only holiday, do not go here. Yes the hideaway is adult only, but unfortunately only one restaurant is, the rest you will have to put up with kids ( in Zen one of the nicest restaurants a kid screamed for the full hour we were there). When we arrived we were told to go to a reception room”over there” no cold towel to freshen up with no welcome glass of fizz and we had to wait over 20 minutes to book in. The man was not welcoming and just kept saying if we loose the wrist band key we will have to pay $200 ok we understand you don’t have to tell us constantly. Then we were told to go back to main reception to be took to our room. So we went back over to be told some very vague instructions how to find our room and our luggage will follow. We eventually found our room baring in mind we had been up close to 24 hours it would have been nice to have been took by someone. Over the next couple of days we seen countless people getting shown to their rooms and we have been to Mexico 7 times now and have never had such an unwelcoming start. There is two pools in the adult only, one large which has music which is great if you want to play games etc and a smaller quiet pool. Our holiday is about chilling so the small one is ideal for us as the beach in the adult only bit has no parasols so if you need some shade the beach is no good for you( the beach also needed to be sifted as it’s certainly not the golden sands you see on photos. After about 5 days a large group of people arrived celebrating a 50th birthday who were put around the quiet pool so they wouldn’t disrupt the large pool (we were told this by staff) this group had loud music playing were smoking you could also smell cannabis and eating in pool when we complained to staff we were told they are very aggressive when confronted so basically we had to put up with it. Security did come round but the group just yelled saying they weren’t. When they were finally going a few members of staff came to give us and other guests that we can get back to enjoying our holiday as they are leaving tomorrow. Shocking that the hotel puts up with that kind of behaviour. Our room had a few problems with either the mini bar not being restocked or towels not being changed and one day our room was not cleaned at all. We did complain and they asked did you put sign on door to not have it cleaned NO WE DID NOT. We were upgraded to platinum after complaining and were assured we would have no more problems, the next day all we got when wet towels were took away was 4 face cloths. One of the restaurants, the Italian has no air con and is unbearably hot so much so we seen a few people walk out without ordering and we literally ate the main course and left as it was so uncomfortable. The Indian restaurant was amazing and the buffet on a morning has everything you could want. The restaurant in adult only(fish restaurant) you can get a breakfast but I love a cup of tea on a morning but was told “oh no we don’t serve English tea” so never went back there for breakfast. However we were told the steak was amazing so we went one evening and yes it was it was just ridiculous that my husband had finished his steak before his fries arrived. If you like entertainment on a evening they do have a few shows in adult only section but not every night so you will have to endure kids if you want to watch the shows in the family part of hotel. Would we return here absolutely not after all the things mentioned above (we are not complainers and we never go to see reps or managers) this experience if it was our first of Mexico we would not return to this beautiful country. Hugo the towel/pool man is AMAZING Jose’ in the bar on an evening is also BRILLIANT
