Poor

Viviana Y on Jul 16, 2024

I have a family trip on July for 24 people. This hotel is Is disgusting they have a lot crockroaches in the in the rooms we go to the guy on lobby and he say yeah we want to send somebody to check their room then we’re going to the buffet and then I see Karches everywhere and the table and my play Plaza people in the lobby. There are trash they don’t even help me when i go and ask about the huracán on July 4. They say they cannot do nothing for me and they don’t wanna rebook another day to stay Because the hurricane the manager them, he doesn’t do anything plus I leave my back on the pool and they take my money. I’m really upset because I pay money for this was a family of 24 People in it was a disaster

Pick a different resort

E S on Jul 14, 2024

Absolutely the worst. We’ve been to Cancun at least 10 times some different resort and some same. This time it was 13 of us. First when you walk in you noticed there is no AC in the lobby or anywhere in the resorts except for rooms and some restaurants. How do I describe the food without sounding to harsh? Well think of it this way you just a number and it’s like serving food like we are animals, don’t care if it’s hot or not and if you don’t like it your problem just order something else. One restaurant I believe i ordeeed 2 dishes just in case which was Philly cheesyake and and a burger. Right away it was cold and super dry the burger was warm but as soon I took a bite I had to spit it out. Rest of the family members felt the same way but hey the kids loved the fries and chicken nuggets. I know there was 13 of us and we expect to wait and we’re happy to wait for an hour but 2.5 to 3 hours it’s just ridiculous. All of their restaurants are small except buffet restaurant which we only did breakfast. There were much smaller parties 4 people and 6 people and they told them same time wait. Lastly the cleaningness of this place was beyond bad. Our room was filthy that we had to call them to clean up, inside the shower hair, on the bed frame hair, dirty sheets. The other 2 rooms were fine but still dusty. The lobby and hallways very old and rundown and again very dirty. We really not picky individuals but going to multiple resorts over the years this one is the worst.

Las Cucarachas Galore

Amanda N on Jul 14, 2024

Although it might sound like hyperbole, it is no exaggeration that I killed roughly 40 cockroaches during my recent stay at the Seadust resort. Although I really wanted to enjoy this resort, the roaches caused a lot of anxiety and angst. I wish we could have left without losing a ton of money. Instead, we stayed and vigilantly monitored our belongings. Upon returning home, we promptly washed our clothing at a laundromat, bought roach spray and traps, and systematically treated everything before bagging suitcases in our garage to sit untouched for the next two weeks. I’m hoping our efforts keep us from bringing unwanted hitchhikers into our home. While I understand that the hotel is in a topical environment, this was a full-scale infestation— they were everywhere (even climbing walls near our table at the buffet). It is completely unacceptable for an allegedly four-star hotel. Allegedly four-stars— because what you will find is a dilapidated hotel well past its prime. Our room smelled like mold and roaches. Black spots covered our floor. Black mold was seen above our balcony door. The bathroom smelled like urine and sewage. The air conditioner did not work in our room, in elevators, in the atrium, in the lobby (which is under construction), or in many of the restaurants. When the temperature is consistently in the 90s, that is utterly ridiculous. Other cons: The food was subpar. Most of it was at least edible— excluding the raw salmon masquerading as grilled salmon. It was not edible— though my husband bit into it before realizing it was dangerously undercooked and slimy. We also were badgered about joining the Infinity Travel Club. We did not— and they were not happy with us. Imagine signing up for a membership with a large down payment and hefty monthly fee on the mere promise of coupons and “thousands of properties around the world”. No properties were shown. No specifics shared. Just claims, promises, and notes/doodles on a notebook. ?? The upgraded rooms were larger and more modern, but they had damaged door handles and split door frames all the same. Not a big selling point— nor was the gross breakfast they invited us to as guests. Was it worth the vouchers they gave us in exchange for our time? Perhaps. Was it impressive or persuasive? Not after spending the night killing roach after roach… plus the “VIP Kids Club” was basically a closet where my kids colored while the closer tried to fast-talk us into a deal. Either the hotel has a vastly different definition of “luxury” or they are intentionally trying to scam people. I have a theory. ?? Pros: The beach and infinity pool were enjoyable, and so were the drinks. Our kids enjoyed the kids’ swimming area, though it looked a little sad with peeling paint. They also enjoyed the shows each evening. We watched a neon dance troop, a Moana show, and a magic show. Although low budget and quirky, they were entertaining. Bottom line: I would never stay here again, nor would I recommend it to others. It is one thing to want to stay at a budget friendly family resort. It is another thing to get stuck in a hot, smelly, outdated, roach-infested hotel claiming to be a four-star resort. I feel like I we were duped, but YOU don’t have to be. Take the negative reviews seriously. They are all true.

Couples getaway!

Millie C on Jul 12, 2024

This family resort has activities for all ages. With the on and off rain they really went out of their way to keep guests entertained. I want to give a big shout to Carla and Rogelio for bringing the hype with their lively energy on kareoke nights and of course the dj it is truly the highlight of this hotel and to Feliciana for making the best omelettes in the morning with a big smile. Thank you! Millie San antonio...:)

Real Nice and Affordable for Families

cisco289 (Darlington, South Carolina) on Jul 09, 2024

I've been to about 20 All-Inclusive Caribbean resorts and would rate Seadust highly as an affordable Family resort. As a luxury adult resort--No. But as a Family resort, a definite Yes! Kids have an arcade, a zip line, a mini golf, a water slide, etc. They'll love it. Parents will still have an assortment of restaurants and bars. And there is evening entertainment, as well. Most everything is in one large building, so it's easy for parents to keep track of their kids. Yup, there are other resorts like Nickelodean and Hard Rock family areas. But kids would be just as happy at Seadust and parents would save a lot of money. Our favorite a la carte restaurant was Samurai. The food was plentiful, delicious, and presented by very friendly servers. The buffet had a lot of variety, and our favorite server over our 3 days was Senior Auceli. I have met many servers over the past 15 years, and almost all are very friendly and polite. But a few have been memorable---a cut above the rest. Senior Auceli was definitely among the best . He remembered our names right away, knew our favorite food and drinks, and always made a point to greet us. He definitely made our breakfast very enjoyable and started our day off right. We had an ocean view Family suite with bunk beds and balcony. It was not high end luxury, but it was comfortable, had nice air, the tv and wifi were reliable, and the shower worked well. By the way, we had no problem with our elevator. We might have been lucky, but we never had to wait more than one minute over our 3 day stay. We would have no trouble recommending Seadust to our relatives anf friends who are interested in a nice affordable nonluxury Family all inclusive resort.
