Nice hotel for the entire family

Awesome food Awesome drinks Some cleaning issues in the pool area The toilet in my room never worked The hotel need to get an update in the 2nd floor rooms. There’s no activities for adults passing 11 pm… There’s no bar, or something like that open in the building
Avoid this hotel... worst we've been to in 15 years. Not sure why it doesn't get 1 star

I will start by saying.. if you are considering going to this hotel... don't. So much negatives im not sure where to start 1. Not enough chairs for all guest. Impossible to get any at the pool if you don't reserve before 7:30am. For the beach, after 9am there won't be any either and you will get to sit on the sand. I have never seen this in my life and I've been to cancun, cuba, punta cana over 20 times 2. The food is never warm at the buffet and 1 time out of 2-3 at restaurants. 3. The alcohol selection is very poor and so are the actual glass they use. No martini glass, no whisky glass and they charge premium for almost everything (malibu rhum was premium.. to put things in perspective) 4. The majority of the staff is not friendly. There are some exceptions. The worst is the beach manager Alberto who is super super arrogant. Not sure how he keeps his job. When there was no chairs on the beach I asked him if he could get me extra chairs from somewhere.. he said "no" so I asked if I was supposed to just sit on the sand and his answer was "Yes." 5. Not sure what is wrong with their music but on several occasion the same song played a solid 5-8 times on repeat near the pool 6. All bars close at 11pm or before and the disco closes at midnight. The only animation you'll get is the theater at 7pm and it finishes at 7:50 As if all that wasnt enough, they have a sports bar. We were there during the superbowl weekend.. and were gonna watch the superbowl there... until the hotel decided this was a "vip section" for that night and that you had to pay an extra 2300MXN ($150cad/$100usd) to have access.. LOL what a joke I coukld keep going but really.. if you are reading this just avoid this hotel you can find much better ones for the same price
Seadust Feb 3-10

We were at seadust from Feb 3-10 as a family of 22. I brought my husband our 4 daughters, aged 9,11,14,16 collectively we had 10 children with us on the resort ranging from 3-16. The resort was clean and really nicely laid out - easy to get around. We felt safe there and often let the older kids go off exploring on their own. There are several a la carte restaurants that are good - no complaints. The Mexican one was actually the worse which was ironic. We never once had to wait and could easily seat our entire family at different tables in each restaurant. We all thought the food at the buffet was just fine and the snack bar food was good also. On the last day we were there the snack bar had chicken and it was super good. There's a grab and go area for snacks that was almost empty like all day long. You could go to this section and get a sandwich prepared in the evening and they were always great. I wish the grab and go had a bigger selection, although we would often go into the buffet and grab a few snacks for our room (you can't take the plates out but if you have a container they will let you). The coffee bar serves decent lates/cappuccino in the morning and turns into an ice cream candy bar in the afternoon then they make crepes in the evening. Our kids were here A TON. I've seen reviews that they run out of ice cream but we never experienced this at all. We got room service on three occasions in the evening before bed because there wasn't really much open. You can order room service until 1030 at night and there is a $10 US charge per trip so you can order as much food as you want off the menu for $10 US. The staff at this resort are absolutely amazing to the kiddos. They feed the kids first and are so patient with them. There's a bar on the beach and two by the pool as well as a couple in the hotel lobby. Service at every one was great - my kids all loved ordering off the kids drink menus. The pools are quite cold but our kids were fine swimming all day - was a nice break from the heat. Pool chairs are a complete issue though! There are never enough to go around and people will steal your chairs. We would go down at five in the morning and reserve five or six chairs for our entire group of 22. Often times we would come down and they would have been moved around or people would steal the umbrella that we secured. One time during the afternoon somebody literally came over and took our stuff off our chair and stole it as we were watching them in the pool! We ended up taking our luggage straps and securing them together so they didn't get stolen. If a pool chair is important to you you might wanna bring a locked luggage strap so that your chairs don't disappear before your eyes. people would come down to the pool at 10 o'clock in the morning and not have a chair so felt like they had the right to just do whatever they wanted. there was a couple days where the DJ was playing by the pool and the music was ridiculously loud. Our Apple Watches were showing high deciles repeatedly. We asked the DJ to at least turn it down some - happy to have music by the pool but he refused and said he needed to play loud enough for the people on the beach. Eventually front desk came and asked him to stop because there were so many noise complaints from parents with little kids. The beach is really stunning. The waves were crazy - too much for the little kids but our older kids loved going out and riding the waves and did this for hours. We collected a ton of shells on the beach and the kids had a blast playing in the sand - it was like silk. We didn't spend a ton of time at the water park but the slides are super fast - the kids had fun here but rather play in the main pool area. We had a room with two double beds and the bunk and all 6 of us stayed in the room. It was tight for 6 but we made it work. I hung a curtain rod on the bunk bed cove so the kids could change there and not take up the bathroom constantly. The bathrooms are really spacious and tons of closet space. The room was clean but super dated. The fridge didn't work, usb ports by the bed didn't work. The plug in beside the bathroom sink has been ripped out so we couldn't use that one. The shower door didn't close all the way and nor did our patio doors seal so got quite hot during the day. I would say they need an update for sure but they were fine and we made it work. We went on an excursion to Akumal to swim with sea turtles and go in the cenote. It was great. Our guides were great also. We didn't want to get up early so they came at 10 instead of 730 and we had a good day- my kids said the cenote was the highlight. The water where the sea turtles were was a bit murky and a bit of a challenge to see them We had a couple medical issues while there... My nephew ripped his toe nail off going up the stairs in the kid pool and had to see the medic located on site - the medic was great and treated him fast and appropriate. My daughter became violently ill with a stomach issue the morning we left. She was throwing up and had terrible diarrhea. We honestly didn't think we would be able to fly out. We took her down to the doctor office and he gave her 3 injections (anti nausea, anti spasmodic and an Anti inflammatory) we got her there in the Knick of time and she was able to get on the plane. The doctor was fantastic with her and spoke great English. We were super grateful he was there and we didn't have to travel offsite. He sent us with some medication home as well. The consult fee was $100 us and with all the medication's included, I think it was slightly under $500. The little kids all had a lot of fun, but the older kids were a bit bored in the evening. This resort really is geared towards families, and there isn't much nightlife. There was a show every evening in the theater, but it was fairly early and geared towards younger kiddos I would say. While it was nice to not have a bunch of drunk people all over the place, I would say that our older kids would've appreciated more nightlife. All in all it was a really great holiday.
Would not return

The property has lots of potential but I suppose they don't intend on investing to provide the best experience. List of issues : Food is never hot, like ever. Pool cold for most days--freezing Plumbing issues in multiple rooms Providing different guests with same room number causing guests to enter other's rooms. Front desk rarely answers phones Room very outdated - bathroom shower dingy. Property itself very outdated No rules related to pool/Beach chairs so it's dog eat dog: this led to several altercations each day. Nightly Show is 7pm but most places start dinner service at 6pm so it's unlikely you will make it if you don't rush.
Never going back :(

Paid for a premium room and didn't receive a premium wrist band. Overall the hotel room (shower) was rusted and molded. Not clean. Requested extra towels as I had traveled with my two children (one boy one girl). We received three towels so we had to share. After 10:30pm the only food available were ham sandwiches. Ice machines were not working on any of the floors we had to purchase Ice outside of hotel. Children had little to do aside from the pool which you can get at any of the other resorts in Mexico. Buffet staff was very slow - I often got up to get my own coffee as I couldn't wait 30 min etc. A couple times I was caught and the wait staff was upset with me. Everything seemed to cost extra. Shows were non existent. I saw water aerobics one day and pool volleyball / beach volleyball 3 of the 8 days I was there. Definitely not worth the money at all. Overall this was my 5th time visiting this resort and this time is was far from what it was previously. I am not sure if ownership changed but this was not the same experience. I would rate this resort a 2.5 star.
