Awesome stay!

Awesome stay The Fives. If your main interests are beach, pool, food, and you don't need big resort activities this is an awesome place to go. It is not far from Cancun airport and is in the charming town of Puerto Morelos. We enjoyed walking to town to get some souvenir gifts and ice cream and seeing the locals. The food was all delicious and excellent service! It is on a great beach and the 2 pools are great. It was not crowded at all in May and easy to get chairs by beach and pool always. Highly recommend!

Sand and sun

The hotel has a natural beachy look in the lobby , which I liked ,white couches , wood slab tables and macrame pieces. the check in process was casual ad quick. My room was spacious with a kitchen area including a coffee maker, and the balcony was a relaxing place, even though mine overlooked the street. I was traveling with a friend and we would have preferred 2 beds rather than an enormous bed and a pull out couch. But this was the only option and the website clearly stated that. Bothe were comfortable. The beach was beautiful and I enjoyed going down every morning to watch the sunrise. This is when I learned of the towel game. People would reserve chairs at this early time by placing a towel down, and then not returning until hours later. The chairs were all taken by 7 or 8 and that was disappointing. The one day I did find a chair I saw some of them sit empty all day. I believe I was not the only person annoyed by this. The rooftop pool was my place to sit, and no problem finding chairs there. It was quiet and relaxing, great guacamole and fruit. We only ate breakfast at the hotel twice. For dinner we walked into town and had fabulous food at a variety of restaurants. There are many , from small local places to fancier restaurants. Puerto Morelos is a great town, touristy enough to offer a variety of food and shops, but not loud or overwhelming with salesmen. I found several yoga studios with friendly and competent instructors. All the hotel staff were helpful and the place was very clean and well managed. That and the beauty of the beach would call me to return. If they could do something about the beach chair game.

Fidel at the main bar was amazing ! He took very good care of me and made sure that I was happy! Honestly the best margaritas in Mexico that I’ve had ?? he went above and beyond to make sure everyone was enjoying their drinks and their time ! He is a true legend and the best there is . Please don’t give him a big raise! Honestly he made our stay so good! We have to return to the fives !!!!

Liars

We had this reservation which was confirmed through booking.com, of which we had proof, as well as through the hotel messaging service. When we arrived they denied having ever heard my name or having had communication with me or booking.com in spite of having their shuttle service deliver us to their hotel. They tried to farm us out to Playa del Carmen which is not the experience we wanted. Needless to say, everything happens for a reason, and we found our own accommodation in a much better part of town with more livelihood. That about sums it up.
