Excellent first time experience at Dreams Sapphire

We are just back from 9 days at Dreams Sapphire, we really enjoyed this resort! The quality of their restaurants and their staff set Sapphire clearly apart from some of the larger hotel chains we have experienced in Mayan Riviera. We had a garden view room, building 4 which is close to the adult pool and right near the beach (and beside beach bar) also a short walk to the main pool area. (It is also directly across from adult pool, so can be a little loud until 11 pm due to weddings). This is an older hotel however they work hard to maintain it. I suggest going with preferred club if you can swing it, you get access to preferred Club lounge, with upscale drinks, private check in as well as access to Blue Water grill for breakfast, which we took advantage of nearly every day. This is not a huge resort, however, large enough for a good variety of activities and restaurants without having to walk miles. The beach is excellent, very few rocks and cleaned daily by tractor. Our Granddaughter really like the kids club, ( 4 years old) and was staying there For short periods, on her own, after a few days of getting to know other kids and staff, which were excellent with the children. Our favorite restaurant was Bluewater grill, top marks to the staff there! Eloy, Julio, Archie, Victor, Gumer were amazing as well as Dayli who ensures everything is running smoothly. The chef Manuel even made us a special farewell lunch with a lovely dessert on our last day! 'Bordeau' their French restaurant was very good, as was 'Porofino' the Italian restaurant. Johnathan our server at Portofino was the best I have ever seen in Mexico, as well his manager ensured all went well and made sure you were well taken care of. The sports bar was well set up and we were able to get most channels , perhaps a few more chairs would be helpful, also opening bar for Sunday 1:00 pm for NFL games would be great, otherwise they open at 3:00pm.( they turned on TV's for us, no air or bar until 3:00 p.m. but we survived!) Carlos is really great bartender as are all the other bartenders/servers at pool and beach. The sports bar turn into a Disco after 10 pm which gets rocking after the evening show. Mar, Orchidia, and their team of animators were great at getting people involved in activities and they all excel at their jobs. We enjoyed the shows that we attended also - good quality entertainment, including the Mexican show and the nightly musical entertainment in the lobby were all very good. New Indigo section is gorgeous with a roof top infinity pool, I was given a no pressure tour to this section, they also have private villas with their own pool, all hotels room are ocean front! We were offered a late check out which was very helpful as our return was 6:00 p.m. Congrats to the management team at this place! We will be back next year! Dan and Linda Ottawa Canada

Great resort … lobby and resort a bit older but the rooms were very nice, big and clean. The staff is what makes this resort so nice. Every one we encountered were friendly and genuine. Would recommend. If you had kids there are slides and the kids club looked amazing with a ton of activities and crafts. They really entertained the kiddos. Oh and beach is beautiful.
