Reviews
Excellent dinner and service!

Mario, our server, was absolutely fantastic. We had six adults, one child, and two infants and he was very Quico to accommodate the need of a booster seat and a high chair for the children. The food was also excellent!

Hello everyone - this review will provide you with an overview of my experience staying at the above-mentioned hotel. We travelled a group of 57 people to attend my best friend's wedding - and I am providing a summary based on what we all experienced during our stay. Rooms: absolutely horrible - the majority of our group had to change rooms a few times due to mold in the rooms. Two couples had to upgrade to another resort and paid an additional 1000$ for the week because the conditions of the rooms they were offered at Kantenah were horrible - MOLD. Many people including myself had no AC In the room - so imagine high temps, humidity and no AC In the room - horrible. They were able to fix our issues 3 days into the trip - but it still wasn't working properly - it would either be too cold or just hot - no balance. Not a fun experience. The beds also very very very uncomfortable - they have mattresses from 1990 - our backs all ache. Service: poor customer service - while we understand they are under-staffed - the staff wasn't very nice. Often, they had no water bottles - no towels available for the beach and not very friendly. Food: was okay but nothing what i expected from my previous travels to Mexico - half the time they didn't have enough guac to serve guacamole - they only did one day of tacos on the beach - we didn't really get the vibe of Mexican food in the buffets - they had the typical, burgers, hot dogs, pizza. So, my recommendation on food, go to the a la carte restaurants to enjoy good and tasty food. Also - the water they use to clean the vegetable and fruits isn't good - many people from our group got really sick - stomachache and diarrhea. We also spoke to other travelers and they were all experiencing some stomach illness - we even saw a couple walking around with Pepto. Check out: our flight was scheduled at 11pm - they made us check out at noon and told us we can shower in the accommodated showers in the lobby - they failed to mention they only had two showers - so imagine a group of 57 people all rushing to shower at the same time - was just awful. They also ran out of towels, shower gel and shampoo - so make sure you pack those in your bag. I had requested a late check out, my room wasn't available, so they offered to switch me rooms the day before - and i had to pay an additional 15USD per hour - so a total of 90USD from noon-6pm to keep the room - they don't offer you to stay at no cost. Also - they ensure that we were picked up at 6pm to go to the airport so we wouldn't be able to have dinner - so make sure you find food before you leave because after 6pm you can't use the facilities anymore. Cleanliness: Terrible - the pool area was always very dirty, you see cups everywhere from the day before, cigarette buds on the floor - pool water very dirty, chairs filled with bird poop. The buffets were also not very clean - food on the floor not picked up - plates and utensils dirty - cups to drink dirty and stained. It was just gross. Beach: sad to say - terrible - full of seaweeds and rocks. We had a really hard time getting into the water due to the rocks - some people from our group hurt themselves and some cut the bottom of their feet from the rocks. So, if you are like me and love the beach - this is not a place for you. Safety: I did not feel safe walking at night in the resort - its a big resort, poor lights, super dark at night - and there's long walking paths before you arrive to the lobby - it was honestly scary.
